What’s changed since then?
a) The League has gotten faster. Watson hasn’t.
He tries to do what he used to do...but now they catch him.
b) the Spread offense. It’s old. It’s college not nfl. And the Browns aren’t a spread offense.
He’s the wrong quarterback for the Browns.
Yep, they're better when under center but Watson likes shotgun. He's holding the ball too long, Can't read or make decisions effectively at this level.
This season has been contest between Deshaun Watson and Aaron Rodgers on which QB can bring down the morale of their respective fanbase the fastest.

I’ve been saying this for 3 years but my fellow fanbase refuses to see it.
He holds the ball too long, can’t process a defense, doesn’t climb the pocket, doesn’t keep his eyes downfield, scrambles laterally and isn’t fast enough to get the corner anymore…. Etc. etc. etc.

I honestly think he’s not the right fit for the offense that Cleveland runs. Baker mayfield had issues with this offense as well and he stated such. It’s built more for a pure pocket passer and I don’t think Deshaun is ever going to play well in this offense. He could just suck but it’s hard to believe he got this bad so fast
This isn’t a Stefanski offense. They have been in shotgun 75% of the time running basic concepts.
When you go through all those legal wranglings, get your lil kink exposed and shamed publicly(or worse,im sure), and most importantly, sit out and miss that much NFL time like he did, thats absolutely how you can get that bad that quick. The legal stuff takes a chunk of you...then miss all that time? Its over.

Sometimes guys don’t love football they love the money. People forget before the massage story broke he quit on Houston as soon as he resigned with them. He didn’t get input into the coach they hired and refused to play. So it’s no surprise he checked out when he got paid.
Stefanskii was at home in his basement when the browns beat the Steelers in the wildcard game so he still doesn't have a playoff win

He had an allpro year on a 4-12 team. So he piled up meaningless stats,now cant play anymore? Thats what it sounds like. His team was atrocious then, still didnt stop him from having a good year. Hes finished, plain and simple

After hearing Kevin say he needs to do better at every press conference, He should be fired a week before they axe Deshaun. The next two weeks.
Just Stefansli using the adjective "outstanding" in describing the job Ken Dorsey has done so far is cause enough for him to be shown the door. The "two time COTY" is a running joke at this point.
Stephen A brought up a solid point. Deshaun mentioned that he does not expect to be utilized in any designed runs. Deshaun has demonstrated his lack of physical effort to take a hit, when he does choose to scramble. He's a mark. He ranks dead last in QBR. PPF has had a field day, exposing his horrible reads. The man is being paid $230 million to do a spectacular job, not an average job. This means that Deshaun must perform at an elite level - DESPITE not having a great offensive line or stellar defence.
I'd be impressed with avg. at this point. 😂

Clearly Stefanski runs a PA under center offense & Groper Cleveland can only not play out of Shotgun formation.
The only way out of this is to bench Deshaun and send him home for two years. Get him out of the building. Promote DTR as the starter and keep Winston as a backup.
This way you're paying DTR on a rookie contract until 2026. You can draft a QB at the top of the 1st round of the 2025 draft, and DTR can be your bridge guy. Or... they can wait until 2026 and target Arch Manning in 2026, and DTR can be the bridge guy. I actually prefer them to go after a Wide Receiver at the top of the first round, then wait until 2026 and make a move to get Arch Manning.
The manning family would never allow Arch to play in Cleveland 😢
this isnt on stefanski at all and this is why the browns will continually bring their fans misery. THERES LITERALLY NOTHING HE CAN DO WITH DESHAUN.
If Stefanski does get fired it will be agreeing to move off Baker Mayfield & looking for a new QB. Baker has grown as an NFL QB simce leaving the Browns but Stefanski obviously didn't see that ability to grow so if it costs him so be it.

As a browns fan, Deshaun absolutely stinks no two ways about it. But Stephanski is a good head coach not a good coordinator, his offense has always been basic, underwhelming and vanilla to me, even the year they made the playoffs with Baker I thought he could have done so much more for Baker and the passing game. But he won coty for apparently "fixing baker" which I think is completely hilarious, last year it should have been texans coach who won it, he shouldn't have won either of those. But deshaun is generationaly bad, it's in his head and I don't think it can be fixed.
