I have mixed feelings on this album. lot of mixed feelings about logic's progression. The concept of the album ain't that black and white for me. Still a bit fuzzy. Meh I'm half and half on this project.
I guess I'm early huh? well shoutout to DeadEndHipHop for the great content, shoutout feefo for his progression, kinge and beezy for their perspectives, myke for his intimate articulation, rod for the hard work, Sophie for the great ask segments, etc! y'all need to understand how appreciative we are of your content. so great vid that I am watching right now, lol, and hope y'all have a great day!
"This is an All Lives Matter album..." the way Ken said that shit with a straight face and scratching his beard was savage!! Easily his most savage moment lol
Jokes aside, im glad myke was very blunt and honest despite DEHH interviewing logic in the past. The reason im glad is because i feel like logic will actually listen to this video and not be gassed up by fans, saying that this is a good album. because its super flawed, and yes, logic can make a way better album; he's just caught up in trying to pull an attempt at making a concept album because maybe he saw kendrick did a couple concepts and that looked cool to logic maybe.
This album was repetitive, hypocritical, executed poorly because "everybody" wasn't on there and it was told on a surface level, and that album felt like a documentary more than an a album
The J.cole verse was the best part of the album. rapping from logic's perspective then switching to his own and dissecting Logic's life then capping It off on how to cope with being biracial in America.
Silver Enigma yeah, Cole has talent but he's just so boring to me and l'd rather listen to Kendrick. Not only that but, I absolutely hate when he tries to sing. To me, its horrid
searcher I don't know on overrated. Maybe. I mean, I think Drake is overrated, but his fans don't praise him as this "Lyrical Miracle" like Cole fans do. But to be honest, I don't blame that on Cole. His fans are the real problem.
I went back to the old Logic interview you guys did, & Logic literally said he was going to not talk about his race that much anymore & you might hear him talk about it here & there. 4 years later he makes a whole album about him being black & white
At the end of the 2nd album when Thomas and Kai land on the planet Paradise, they get off the ship and step foot onto the planet. Then they start walking to their destination while they listen to Everybody and once the album ends, Thomas and Kai tell the listener that they're putting on the final album until they get to their destination. Logic said that Under Pressure, The Incredible True Story, Everybody and the final album all tie together to finish the story that begun with Under Pressure.
Hadn't watched DEHH in a while but it's great to see you guys still doin your thing. Production quality is beautiful and watching you guys go back and forth is really entertaining, feels good to laugh along with ya'll. Keep it up
I enjoyed the scifi elements of the album. that concept was that "God" was one in a race if advanced super beings. once Atom (the soul of all mankind) accumulates the collective wisdom and knowledge of the entire human race over an effectively infinite amount of time, he will ascend into being a super being as well. I think that's a clever and well through out sci Fi concept
Feefo: "I didnt know what to expect from this album." Kinge: "I hate white people so i hate this album." Beezy: "........." Myke: "Something funny, insightful and noteworthy."
I think you guys should start a rap consulting firm, listen to the album before and help clean up projects. You guys hit the nail on the head almost every time
Can't believe how an album that wanted to be like Coloring Book or something more complex like to pimp a butterfly becoming almost like a meme...literally the whole album except J'Cole's verse and the 1-800 song was about being black and white. Alrighty then...Logic has the flow and impact but this was just so underwhelming lyrically!
14:22 "Yeah, so I didn't get it. If they're in space, where are they walking to?" +DeadEndHipHop, you've got some comedy gold in that line!!! 🤣🤣🤣Love your reviews, especially with these type of lines from Mike!
Issue with the review is that although I get why you guys don't understand his struggle (you aren't bi-racial), you have to understand it is an important issue that is different than your own. I am bi-racial, and I really can relate to Logic's story because although he has grown up "black" in terms of culture, he looks white and has been told he's not really black. The reason J Cole doesn't make it as big of a deal, or it isn't as big of a deal for him is because J Cole looks black...he was raised "black". He accepts that culture. Imagine if he tried to say he was white? And embrace that side of him more? Everyone would laugh at him and berate him...meanwhile that's the SAME thing Logic goes through on the other side. I have personally experience this as well, being told I am not how I was raised to be and people trying to tell me to stop pretending or accept another "reality". That being said I didn't really like the album simply because it's a bit too preachy, and the concept (like C Town says) is kinda sprinkled in not so well. There's not enough music on the album, though Everbody is a dope track. Just thought I would provide some perspective, thanks for the reviews guys.
8:42 I felt exactly what Myke was saying here, I would have been fine if the album was called AfrycAryAN and he was speaking for biracial people that would have been fine in fact I was hoping for it. If he thought he had to include everybody
Isn’t the story of the album the 2009 short story named “The Egg" by American writer Andy Weir. It basically says the once a person dies, he/she meets god. God tells that person that he/she will have to reincarnate as every single person of the world that ever lived. After that, that person grows to be a god.
Every time I hear reviews I see people missing the fact that he didn't actually write the overarching story. The story on it is called The Egg and it's been around for years on the internet. The story is actually genuinely really good but the thing is that it's structured as a short story that's all together. It's a really bizarre choice to bring it in, it's like if he split up Ozymandias over the course of the entirety of an album. It just straight up doesn't work at all. I genuinely feel sorry for the original writer, and I also don't like that Logic is getting credited with writing it by a lot of people when he didn't. Overall I like the album and I like hearing about Logic's struggles as a biracial person, he brings an interesting perspective to it all (even if he can get way too preachy, especially on Black Spiderman) but the story just seems like a weird choice that he only half thought of.
I'll be honest I love all of Logics albums but this one is the most confusing.......honestly the story feels like it doesn't connect I feel like he's all over the place I feel like it doesn't flow well I get the main point behind it but I just feel like it wasn't executed well
Great review guys, I'm so glad you added that Favorite Track section! Because it remedies the problem I had with the DAMN review, you guys are making sure that you get more content about the actual songs into the reviews. Thanks for adding that, keep doing it please!! I have not heard this album, but I've known of Logic for a long time and this just sounds so uninteresting, but hey who knows maybe I'll listen to it and love it. I was not very impressed by The Incredible True Story. I feel like Logic had a stronger identity and better tastes in his mixtape days. Seriously his mixtapes are better than his albums.
WILDIN. The J. Cole verse was one of the most important and impactful things he's ever done. Especially coming off of 4YEO. That verse basically cements what he's been doing the past couple of years. If that's the last we ever hear of him, J. COle literally created an amazing narrative to end his career on which acts as almost a Thesis for all the music he's ever created. Crazy good.
Ian Smart. It's not that they do not get it. I just don't like the verse because he sounds like shit. He has no energy and it seemed like he didn't even want to rap. So boring and dry.
You see, I have no problem with someone disliking the verse (but you're crazy if you do) because that's on preference. But the conversation wasn't even about what he was saying. I have heard HORRIBLE Cole songs that have had interesting ideas and I've heard good ones with basic bitch ideas. I never said they didn't get it, I'm disappointed that they didn't address WHAT HE ACTUALLY SAID which regardless of the tone and cadence I think perfectly sums up Logic's album (and is the whole thesis thing) and is kind of a beautiful sentiment and sendoff for an ending. Again, how you feel about how dry he was or had no energy that's on you and I can't tell you're wrong for disliking it, but acknowledge WHY and WHAT was in the verse. That's all i'm saying. Also, if Kendrick literally gave the same verse I don't think "boring" would be anywhere in the conversation (Cole's perception makes that word seem relevant to his verse). It was definitely a dry verse, but that worked (for me) because it highlighted the words instead of the cadence, flow, or enthusiasm. That's WHY I think he chose to rap it that way...
haha, very true. Now I can't give you Kendrick delivering this same verse, but When you listen to a song like Real on GKMC or Tammy's Song on Section 80. where he uses a very monotone inflection throughout with a very repetitive unenthusiastic flow he isn't criticized for the energy in the verse but praised because of the content and because ppl have a perception of Kendrick (as a genius) that they give him the benefit of the doubt and claim he has a meaning behind the way in which he delivered his verse (this could also be preference so its hard to nail down). Now I love both of those songs and thinks Kendrick is AMAZING and a GENIUS, but I just wish the same consideration of artistry given to Kendrick would be given to others. Maybe Cole had a real reason for doing what he did, but that wasn't addressed, it wasn't addressed what he said. Only they thought it was boring, no real reason why (but we assume because of his tone and the beat behind it). Now I may seem like a jackass haha, but I try not to say things without valid reasons. I do not fault a verse for low energy or timid mood if it prompts it. I thought it was a nice contrast to the high energy, loud music Logic just ended his album with. THen you have Cole with this smooth meditative ending that basically gives a brief thesis for the message of the album. It was very intentional and I thought rather effective. Again, Kendrick has given versus of similar tone and mood and is lauded because ppl think he's doing it for a deeper purpose. Because Cole has a reputation for making boring music (which is crazy) ppl tend to label his music that when they don't like it. I think Most 21 Savage music is boring because of the terrible rapping, repetitive beats, terrible voice, and subject matter not necessarily the energy given by him, but You will never hear someone call his music boring (even though it is).
"Maybe it worked for his true fans." "So is that who he made this album for then... I thought he made it for Everybody" "Everybody is going to be confused."
He talked from the perspective of bein Suicidal, Anxiety, Person struggling with religion, Person addicted social media, Person fake flexing and Being black and white...
I agree with Myke about 90%. I really wished he kept the title AfricAryaN and just went full send. I remember when it was announced that he changed the title and I was disappointed because I was super interested in the previous concept, then it came out and I listened to it, and was very mixed on it. I still am unsure about but I want to relisten to it. AfricAryaN might've been extra dope. Sidenote: I liked InkBlot. Here's to relistening some time in the future.
On the previous album, the people in space make it to paradise, the skit at the end before j cole, is them walking through paradise to a location we don't know of yet.
Here's why he should take a break since he gave us a lot of music over the past 9 years: 2009: physicalogical 2010: Young, broke and infamous 2011: Young Sinatra 2012: Undeniable 2013: welcome to forever 2014: while you wait EP (scrapped) 2014: under pressure 2015: the incredible true story 2016: bobby tarantino 2017: everybody If I was him, I wouldn't release nothing for a while. Dropping music every year doesn't makes you a good artist at all
I think artists need to take care of themselves as well their music because one bad Album/EP can ruin a discography especially if you don't have any bonafide classics or experience in the industry. As long as you have good, hard-hitting content out, don't try and ride/create a wave which you aren't ready for. Take a break from the studio, We all can't be Dr Dre/Kendrick Lamar.
@@Adar252 TBH, I think he's taking the easy way out. Don't get me wrong, the pressure may have got to him (no pun intended) however he should know that all artists go through a rough period in their careers and recalibrate in order for a spectacular comeback.
I'm black y'all, and I'm black y'all And I'm blackety black and I'm black y'all I'm white y'all, and I'm white y'all And I'm whitey-ty white and I'm white y'all -Logic
Vee Vee doesn't bump in the whip and at this point his whole "i'm a drake copycat with a lil hood in me" has failed beyond understanding he just can't come back from
The two guys from the incredible true story landed on a planet when the album ended. At the end of everybody they're still walking around. The planet that they're supports life it's not that hard to understand.
On iTunes you can actually crop song's where you don't have to hear a part of a song like a skit, If you right click on a song and then click on "Get Info" then go over to "Options" there will be 2 "Start" & "Stop" boxes, So if the skit is at the start then just type in the time when it ends in the "Start" box and if the skit is at the end then just type the time when the skit start's in the "Stop" box. Just for anybody who doesn't want to hear the skit's & I would put a thumbs up emoji but i'm on my laptop so..
Should have filmed this whole review in black and white

Omg myke is so fucking right this would have been amazing as the original title with no skits except the incredible true story ending
The J.cole verse was the best part of the album. rapping from logic's perspective then switching to his own and dissecting Logic's life then capping It off on how to cope with being biracial in America.
fuck boii 4 life I agree 👍, I feel like Myke just hates J Cole for some reason. Shit makes no sense.
cmacjb1 Myke has no issue with the SUBJECT of j coles rapping, he thinks the WAY he raps is boring asf. I feel the same way
Silver Enigma yeah, Cole has talent but he's just so boring to me and l'd rather listen to Kendrick. Not only that but, I absolutely hate when he tries to sing. To me, its horrid
KXNG GH0ST VEGETA exactly. Cole is the most overrated rapper in the game rn. There are tons better than him
searcher I don't know on overrated. Maybe. I mean, I think Drake is overrated, but his fans don't praise him as this "Lyrical Miracle" like Cole fans do. But to be honest, I don't blame that on Cole. His fans are the real problem.

Logic said that Under Pressure, The Incredible True Story, Everybody and the final album all tie together to finish the story that begun with Under Pressure.
Lmao “walking music? If they’re in space where are they walking to?” I feel you.
Mike C has to be the best thinker when It comes to reviewing albums.
Hadn't watched DEHH in a while but it's great to see you guys still doin your thing. Production quality is beautiful and watching you guys go back and forth is really entertaining, feels good to laugh along with ya'll. Keep it up
Shout out to Modest Media for slaving over a hot computer for four hours just to get this video out to us ungrateful ass kids!
I hope Logic watches this because he NEEDS to hear this

That went over people's heads. Logic fans are difficult to please.
I love how honest Dead End Hip Hop can be, love y'all reviews.
I'm glad Myke was as harsh as he was, I felt the same way. Super disappointed in Logic with this.
Everytime I'm about to go to bed, you guys come through with the surprise review. DAMN.
Feefo: "I didnt know what to expect from this album."
Kinge: "I hate white people so i hate this album."
Beezy: "........."
Myke: "Something funny, insightful and noteworthy."
I think you guys should start a rap consulting firm, listen to the album before and help clean up projects. You guys hit the nail on the head almost every time
This was the tipping point of Logic reviews on DEHH lol.
I clicked that notification SO FAST
Isaiah Chavez After 13 years yall not tired of making this same comment yet? We get it. You couldn't wait for the video.
And the only song that wasn't about him being black and white was a suicide turn up song lol
14:22 "Yeah, so I didn't get it. If they're in space, where are they walking to?"
+DeadEndHipHop, you've got some comedy gold in that line!!! 🤣🤣🤣Love your reviews, especially with these type of lines from Mike!

they finally made it to paradise and listening to the album while exploring paradise.

Finally. Really looking forward to the Wale review as well.
I liked the first single 'Everybody', but this project as a whole was a huge let down.
Great review guys, I'm so glad you added that Favorite Track section! Mixed Feelings was from the Sinatra tapes already covered this topic well. Idk why he needed to make a full album about being biracial
"its hopsin level corn" Haha
IM CRYING AT MYKE'S FACE AT 14:19 LMAOO DUDE WAS IN TOTAL DISBELIEF LMAOO

Ironic how LOGIC failed to provide a logical story on this record

"Maybe it worked for his true fans."
"So is that who he made this album for then... I thought he made it for Everybody"
"Everybody is going to be confused."
This album worked for him... Keep doing your thing Logic... it's working and more people love what you do than hate it!

Vincent 47 FUCK!!!! 😭😭
On one starry night i saw the light
You kind of made my day with that.
been waiting for this one
Myke C Town has some very good points here.
I've waited so long for this video
"It's the all lives matter album" that had me dying 😂😂😂
I've never been so disappointed by an artist that is so high up on my list of favorites
Logic is biracial? smh why he never rapped about it...
On the previous album, the people in space make it to paradise, the skit at the end before j cole, is them walking through paradise to a location we don't know of yet.
Here's why he should take a break since he gave us a lot of music over the past 9 years:
2009: physicalogical
2010: Young, broke and infamous
2011: Young Sinatra
2012: Undeniable
2013: welcome to forever
2014: while you wait EP (scrapped)
2014: under pressure
2015: the incredible true story
2016: bobby tarantino
2017: everybody
If I was him, I wouldn't release nothing for a while.
Take a break from the studio, We all can't be Dr Dre/Kendrick Lamar.
makondelela tshoambea well he’s retiring after no pressure. How you feel about that?
@@Adar252 TBH, I think he's taking the easy way out. Don't get me wrong, the pressure may have got to him (no pun intended) however he should know that all artists go through a rough period in their careers and recalibrate in order for a spectacular comeback.
makondelela tshoambea I definitely agree
@@creative_soul-recolo4 years later, how you feel about Logic now? And his latest albums?
I'm black y'all, and I'm black y'all
And I'm blackety black and I'm black y'all
I'm white y'all, and I'm white y'all
And I'm whitey-ty white and I'm white y'all
-Logic
So yall just said fuck wale album huh lol
Vee Vee doesn't bump in the whip and at this point his whole "i'm a drake copycat with a lil hood in me" has failed beyond understanding he just can't come back from
Vee Vee I don't blame them
Vee Vee wale is so fucking corney
Vee Vee wale is trash
Vee Vee I feel like Wale's Shine album was him trying to introduce Afrobeat to Trap music
Yeah Boi been waitin on this!!!!

Desk Lamp sweet 6 distributing melon good times
The two guys from the incredible true story landed on a planet when the album ended. At the end of everybody they're still walking around. The planet that they're supports life it's not that hard to understand.

the skit guys are walking to the "paradise" pictured on the album cover btw, little confusing i'd agree though.
Slug from Atmosphere spoke about being bi-racial in his songs he never got hate for that
Well, looks like this album got a resounding "....nah, bruh."
Glad I wasn't alone.
Feefo said "I don't see anyone making it an issue being biracial and rapping." Joyner Lucas - Half Nigga.
he's hella dope
15:03 Is the best joke in DEHH History 😂😂😂😂😂
I know y'all shitted on this and I ain't even watch it yet.
Rod on some bullshit! Peace, love and positivity, over-positive ass. I still ride for the squad, hit that like button!
"This is an all lives matter album".... goddamn😂
Lol, I literally was watching Tabby react to this again wondering when this review was going to come out. Funny how life works....
I Agree, Logic is dope, but overdoes it a little bit. His old Sinatra mixtapes was almost all spittin, not much skits.
