Just train it by making the intervals of leaving longer. leaving when it's asleep is fine, when it wakes up it will just wonder where you are instead of being confused why it's suddenly alone. It will start hating you
Thanks for this informative video. I also find that draining my dog out of energy helped his anxiety. I also tell my dog “bye, I will be back.” For us, our maltipoo really enjoys his crate. Sometimes if we are home all day, he will walk himself over to his crate to take a nap. He associate his crate as a safe place for him when no one is home. But I understand each dog is different.
I picked up a Maltipoo puppy on Wednesday night. He is only 10 weeks old, and has bad separation anxiety. If I shut the door to the bathroom he go nuts. I hope it improves. I had to move his crate downstairs because he was trying to get out of it so bad that I thought he was going to destroy it. I talked to my Vet about the issue, and she said to keep the crate downstairs or else I wouldn't get any sleep. If he wasn't so young I wouldn't mind having him sleep on his own bed in the bedroom, but that won't happen for months. Thanks for the video I'll keep these tips in mind.

I have a girl toy poodle that’s 2 months and she won’t leave my side. I can’t even use the restroom/shower in private because she cries non stop and I feel so bad. I’m taking your advice and hopefully as she gets older she will be ok.
