This particular ad was made during COVID, and released when the borders reopened, hence the closing tag, "Together Once More". It will absolutely cause many Australians to cry.

This song was written and performed by one of Australia's greatest entertainers. It was written in 1980 and in the late 80s the airline used it in a commercial. It was so popular that they have been using that song ever since.
I am Finnish, and have been living in Australia for a few decades, and this STILL brings tears to my eye when i see this. 🇦🇺🇫🇮

This song was released by its composer and singer, an Australian named Peter Allen, in 1980, years before Qantas used it for its ads so most Aussies already knew the words and the tune.
In 1987 Qantas added the visible images in a series of ads which continued over several years. This is just one of them.
Peter Allen wrote and sung this song, Qantas used it in their ad's. Please check him out he married Liza Minnelli
There are a few famous singers and sport champions in this clip. The girl on the phone is one of the greatest tennis champions Australia has had.💖🇦🇺💖
erni dingo is the man at the pool famous first nation actor. the two girls swimming in the ocean are both olympic medal winning swimmers. hugh jackman needs no introduction lol. the first nation lady at the start is the artist who designed the first nation paintings for qantas. the school choir singing are primary school students at longreach which is where qantas first flew from.

This ad for Qantas has been done two other times with the same song and the Australian children's choir.
It shows them singing together in different parts of Australia.

Precisley, as this particular song by Peter Allen is so sacred too all of us as Australians as the original song writer of it as well as the composer, it was in the running once upon a time for our very own National Anthemn.
I agree. the original is still the best. Also, I believe that QANTAS actually own the song now. They bought the rights to it from the Peter Allen family some time ago.
Also wish reactors would do the original version rather than this ad one.
