- Watch this diver getting face to face with the Longimanus (Oceanic whitetip shark) at a shark dive at Elphinstone Reef in Egypts Red Sea. Part 3/3.

The longimanus like many other shark species is critically endangered due to the overfishing by industrial fishing and the constant demand for shark fins from Asia. Sharks are a crucial part of the oceans eco system and have to be protected. More information for shark protection and conservation can be found @SHARKPROJECTInternational @TheSharkTrust or @NakaweprojectOrg
The video was taken at the Elphinstone Reef in egypts red sea. A calmn and relaxed longimanus is swimming close through a group of divers before he gets face to face with one of the divers. The video has been taken in late October 2021. If you dive with the Longimanus stay relaxed and calm to avoid an attack. Attacks usually only happen because of wrong behaviour.

The longimanus like many other shark species is critically endangered due to the overfishing by industrial fishing and the constant demand for shark fins from Asia. This shark possibly the most dangerous for scuba divers. In this video incorrect diver’s behaviour
@@antoniop.66 It is quite difficult to stay relaxed in these situations if you are not familiar with them.
@@buchpetzer boat leader should give the safety information before dive. Sometimes this shark can change the safety stop into attraction “how to avoid biting”. … But this shark very beautiful☺️
@@antoniop.66 Thats not the standard. Often people are just thrown into the water and left to theirselves.
WOW. That's one of the few sharks I'm very afraid of since they have the reputation of eating humans from shipwrecks etc. But wow she was beautiful and not at all upset with you all, she was just checking you out. I noticed when she swam up to the divers, her eye didn't roll back to protect it, so that tells me she was not intending on biting or anything, just curious. That was awesome. What a beautiful animal.
Not afraid at all and very curious.
Me to.They ate all them dudes from that Navy ship
@@metrlpcs5230 yes there were like 180 men on the ship on the didn't find 120 of them or something and there was evidence they were eaten by the Oceanic White Tip. But the one in this video seems so calm and curious.
@@TanyaQueen182 Sheeesh!this one is more curious than aggressive for sure. You should check out "Shark Happens" and "Ashmoth Case files" on the tube.Oh boi.I had to stop listening to these stories for a few days.Wow.check it out, amazing shark stories.
@@metrlpcs5230 Fortunately its different if you are face to face with them underwater.
Their all aggressive. The Oceanic White Tip is absolutely no joke.
Stunning! That would be a dream come true for me and I am sure I would be a crying hot mess after an experience like that! 💖
Well at least it wasn't swimming with it's pec fins down and being aggressive. Glad you stayed calm
This other video from 2018 looks similar to the video above, except somebody gets attacked, even though they stayed calm: ruclips.net/video/R4oau83-XBI/видео.html The pec fins look somewhat down in both videos to me, but not sure how down they need to be to signal aggression. I wouldn't swim near these guys if I could avoid it--getting a viral video isn't worth the risk.
Wow ! Стальные яйца у наблюдающих за лОнгом ! ;-О
😂
I swam through the arch here at elphinstone one of the best moments of my life ❤
Great dive site. Havent seen the arch yet. Its quite deep, right?
@@buchpetzer yeah I clocked 58 metres on my dive computer going through it I must add I’m not qualified to go that deep either 🤨
@@philkearney0577 Im glad you survived. Do you have a video of it?
@@buchpetzer sadly I don’t my Panasonic camera/case max depth is 40mtrs and was brand new at the time, didn’t fancy risking it but the memory of it is something I’ll cherish to the day I die👍
@@philkearney0577 I can understand. You dont want to waste your new equipment at the beginning. My Sony Housing (which I would not recommend) can also only go to 40 meters.
Wow beautiful fish
wow❤
Beautiful footage ❤️ 🦈 👍
Thanks
Curious sharks!
This one is relaxed but curious. His fins are pointing straight instead of downwards, a sign that it will not display agressive behaviour.
She beautiful 👌🏼❤️
Calm, relaxed, curious and beautiful. If the divers stay relaxed the shark stays too.
Better known as a Oceanic White Tip
That's a shark with attitude.

The Most Beautiful Shark
It would be so cool if their white fins glow in the dark!
😄 When you use torches from the safari boats you can see them quite well.
What a lovely idea 👏👏👏
Shark sure seems very confident.. I dunno, I would not keep my eye off that thing :s ....Oceanic White are not the safest... especially in the Red Sea where they lure them in with bait and splash sounds, so the tourists can see them... so many incidents happend there !
I havent seen anyone baiting them. Trash was thrown from the boats. But thats forbidden now.
Love how the diver tried to bubble scare the OWT but the OWT circled down right on him like who’s the bitch now?
a fish that is a ballet dancer but with the lethal and well deserved rap sheet of a killer...I would not trust that customer at any point in time
Not correct diver’s behaviour. He had to turn away shark - it could bite…
I can't agree more, so wrong, amateur behaviour:/
Der Taucher bei 0:39 sieht aus wie ich. Krass!
Sorry, aber das ist der Christoph.
0:33 she swims through the bubbles, why does she do that? does she like the sensation?
I guess it is curiosity. Ive seen bull shark that also like the bubbles.
@@buchpetzer I saw a video of a zebra shark at an aquarium playing in the bubbles
Please vote for the EU citizen initiative to ban the trade with shark fins in the EU: eci.ec.europa.eu/012/public/#/screen/home
This is not just another petition to sign, this can cause legal changes.
The EU subsidizes open sea fishing and is a major transit market for illegally caught fins. We can vote for this to stop.

Richtig!
I have zero interest in swimming with one of these.
