    For the seventh example, you can use Desmos to calculate it in less than a minute. Simply create a table with the corresponding values (x, y) given and add a slider for c, then type in y1 ~ a^x1 - b. It will create a graph where no matter what 'C" may be, b will always be 11.
    I understand the importance of being able to calculate it by hand but when we are openly given a resource as powerful as Desmos, we should use it!

    is it bad that i've been using desmos for the problems u showed? i get them right, but i hope desmos is a decent strategy.
    for the f(x)=a^x-b, i started out the same
    8=a^c-b
    350=a^2c-b
    then i plugged in 1 as c
    350=a^2-b
    8=a^1-b
    then i switched a and b values for x and y so i could plug it into desmos
    i did kinda like system of equations and it intersected at (19,11) so i got 11 (it also intersected at (-18,-26) as well.
    my goal for the sat is a 710 or above on any category so i can get this award for 7th grade

      The easiest place to improve is to learn the grammar rules, which are covered in depth in our writing course. Those answer choices have very black and white reasons for being correct, but until you learn the rules, you are essentially just guessing based off what feels right vs. wrong. Are you sure for question 7(time stamp 11:00) only positive value of b =11 is the solution? I think b= -26 is also the solution , because a^c = -18, (a^c)^2=324, so it also works.

      @preppros  3 месяца назад +1

      With 4-5 hours a day, you definitely can. You most likely need to address some content gaps for both sections. For reading and writing, I’d start with the grammar rules as that’s one of the easiest places to improve. For math, it’s hard to identify the specifics but if you get a copy of our book, I’d recommend working through all of the level 3 questions to start that can really bridge the gap up to a 700. If you haven’t checked out the free trial, you can learn some of the foundational grammar rules, but with 20+ working through the Ultimate SAT course you could make some serious improvement

    Anyone got tips for the information and ideas section? I keep struggling on that part

    • @preppros
      @preppros  3 месяца назад +1

      Information & Ideas are solely based on how you scored on Reading questions. The types of Reading questions that are covered by this score are Logically Completes The Text, Specific Details, Main Idea, Data, Support,Weaken, and Illustrate the claim, so of course additional practice with those types of questions will help improve your score, but also understanding exactly what makes an answer correct vs. incorrect is a really common problem for students who struggle with these. If you often find yourself stuck between multiple answers, that's the first place to start.

    Hey, sir! Thanks a lot for the very helpful video. I have a question: In the given expression 26z^14+ bz^7 + 70, b is a positive integer. If (qz^7 + r) is a factor of the expression, where q and r are positive integers, what's the lowest possible value of b? I think we're going to use discriminants here and set it to zero; however, it's kind of wrong as q^2 would equal 26, which isn't an integer. How should I solve this question?

      Thank you, sir! I've seen the video once it was posted. I believe my question is a little bit different since it mentions that b, q, and r are all positive integers, not just constants. I thought that solving using discriminants was the way to go, but I got stuck when I set (qz^2 + r)^2 = 26z^{14} + bz^7 + 70), as (q^2) would equal 26, which wouldn't be an integer in this case.
      The reason why I set (qz^7 + r) equal to the given equation is because (b) would have its lowest value when the equation has only one solution, which occurs when (b^2 - 4ac = 0) and the only solution is (qz^7 + r).
