When I first saw killjoy in a leaked twitter post I thought she was cool, but I didn’t understand quite what she did or how she would affect the meta. When I later learned more about her before the launch of act II I was skeptical. I was unsure of how turrets were at all a feasible addition to Valorant. I also thought that her ultimate goal was too overpowered to be in the game. I now understand that she was not added into the game to be what I thought she was meant to be. The turrets are not there to eliminate enemies, but to slow them down, act as a decoy, or make noise on a bomb site. I also understand now that the goal of her ultimate is not necessarily to slow your enemies, but to scare them enough for your to be able to push them or force them to push you, leading to their demise. After looking at what she can do, I believe Killjoy is possibly my favorite agents in the way that she can gain control, while maintaining the illusion that she does not.

Yeah, the remote detonation mollies seem a little too good. If they went off when the hit the ground that would make sense but remote detonation is a little too good

exactly, the only counter I could think of for her ult was to just rush the site before it deploys and I managed to kill all her other teammates except her bcs her ult deployed by then and I was pretty salty that she could just knife me in my face while I was pretty much incapable of doing ANYTHING

@@user-fl1st2ot2p you can actually, like at 11:30 you can clearly see on the minimap the yellow circle is the enemy killjoy ult radius, and her ult must be in the middle of that circle, heck even the light effect is visible from the heaven.. the actual problem is that not only you're unable to use utility, but you can't shoot as well lol they said valorant wasn't supposed to be ability war like overwatch then wth is this

Legit on split or ascent, with Cypher and Killjoy defending both sites, it cannot be taken. Pair this with Sage, Breach and a duelist or Omen, this team can be the legit unstoppable at all levels.

Turret does pretty small damage and is fragile, its biggest use is for covering your flank and as bait to distract.

Turret? From all the clips I've seen the turret isn't even that impressive. Her ult and molly seems to be the real problems here.

Honestly Killjoy has a strong kit. Just waiting to see how other players react the more she's out. Fun to detain them with the ult.
11:00 is a really good clip but if you want to do this I recommend throwing the nano swarm on the sand right next to the box, the nano swarm can do damage even if players were above, I recommend throwing the nano swarm as close to the wall as possible. A tip that I found useful is to hug the wall and right click to throw it right next to the wall. If you go close enough you’ll see two dots on the wall, I usually throw the nanoswarm in the between these dots

9:39, and yeah that's probably too much of a glitch to not be patched.
Its like the sneaky smokes you could sometimes set up in csgo, were you'd see the feet but they couldn't see you.
Of course if you did it enough times they would prefire into the sketchy smoke. With the wall being solid that's a ultimate 1-way expect for tiny feet damage..

Just gonna say Killjoy is insane; the possibilities are almost endless for success. She can hold angles, hold bomb sites single-handedly, and, with a creative mind, even push a plant site. A definite must-have on a team for sure! And she's colorful!!

her Molly is too op. two is a lot and remote detonation is crazy. ult is good but sometimes unavoidable. maybe make it more easily seen by enemies, easier to kill, or less range

The Gaijin ult can cancel attacker while they're defusing, nano bots have a very high DPS and it's hardly visible sometimes. The sound of it do drowns from gunfights

I think she is pretty broken in combination with sova and cypher. Just in terms ofhomdong down sites alone with cypher util and post plant situations with sova shockdarts. There is nothing u can do
Prob a new comp would be cypher, kill joy, sage, brim, and a random agent
There is a trade off to having cypher and killjoy because offence is a lot harder
Agree with Nadan: me and a group of friends were playing Unranked with triple Sentinel [because one of us mains Sage, I main Cypher, and the other person was having a drugfest with Killjoy]. We started defense and went 10:2 (and we only lost one of those rounds because we started to troll) then proceeded to end the game 13:11 because we had very little pushing power [we had Viper and Phoenix as our last 2 btw]. It’s strong, but you are going to suffer on Offense real, especially if you pick Sova over someone with Smokes.
My thoughts on Killjoy:
I don't really think she's that overpowered. Strong, yes. But just as strong as Cypher or Sage.
And this is due to the fact that ALL her abilities have audio cues, can be seen, and can be destroyed.
Her Alarm Bot can be seen and destroyed easily- it doesn't even do damage. Her Turret's damage is also pretty weak. But her Nano-swarm, while can be seen and destroyed, has very high damage. But that can be countered by just shooting at it, so always check the Spike before defusing. As for Ult, it's kinda strong since it doesn't require LOS, but you can just rotate or take it out to counter.
So basically, I don't think she's overpowered. She's just new and people have yet to learn how to properly counter her. IIRC, Raze can destroy most of Killjoy's abilities. Much like how she can destroy Cypher's abilities. But you don't even need a Raze to counter Killjoy, just use your gun.
I'd be surprised to see if she's picked consistently in the next few weeks.

Was about to write this, in the clip where Jett and Reyna couldn’t defuse, first priority after everyone is dead is to break the ult, they didn’t and lost because of it and you can see it’s location no matter what
I think it would be good if her molly could be only activated if she is nearby not across the whole map. Then shes balanced I guess

This is so not true. You can't just say that we're not used to it. Her nanoswarm is literally 2 brimstone mollies, that are placed and detonated like a cyber cage, and kill you in 2 seconds max. (Also bigger radius) Her ult, while, sure, it's breakable, it's still overpowered. What if you place it behind a wall after plant? How is the retaker gonna rush into the site and break it without dying? You haven't thought this through. Oh, yeah, also Raze can destroy her ult but she doesn't know where it is so it loses the entire purpose. Her turrets are fine though.
jon actually you know exactly where it is, as attacker as soon as it’s placed down there is a dot and radius on the minimap, plus these clips are of people not being used to it that’s a valid reason, look at my other reply or the fact that people are gonna start looking for the nades near a planted spike ver soon, I can guarantee they will be shot more, in fact I’ve been doing it in games. Also 8 seconds is a long time to be “detained” but 12 or 13 is a big chance to destroy it as you know exactly where it is, also remember when Reyna was “op” everyone says it about every new character
