I love how Ben outsmarts Adam and Sam by being dumber xD
I loved how he didn't just go to a supermarket & buy bad profitterolles from the frozen goods aisles
It's like in poker where the worse player sometimes win huge because they play "wrong".
Yeah lmao so many games where making dumb moves works because of sheer unpredictability
Love how he might actually take the train Sam and adem were on, because he thought they could only get there at 13:30 instead of an hour earlier
The greatest swordsman in the world does not fear the second best. He fears the worst because he can't predict what the idiot will do.
The most painful part for me was looking up all of the supermarkets in Saint-Quentin on Google Maps where Ben could have bought profiteroles and seeing the Lidl 3 minutes from the station that he could have gone to instead of vetoing the card. It worked out for him in the end, but he gave up too quickly.

Ben's strategy of taking trains to smaller towns seems to be paying off.
Sounds like he may be going somewhere they didn't even consider. May not be Brussels or Amiens!
The problem is they can track through the entire wait period. All pressure is on the runner. They should only have the last 5-10 minutes to track and plan. They can plan every possible route when the runner can't
@@KNR90 Can they really? I didn't realize that.

Could be fun to try this on a smaller scale. Get a day pass for public transport in a major city and see how it goes.
@@Steinchen43 thats a really good idea actually, much more budget friendly
@@Alessio-Zinna There is actually a company called "Eurail" (or "Interrail" if you are from the EU). For around 200$ (or 200€) you can get a pass that allows you to take pretty much any train within Europe.

I love this tag game. And with trains it's much more exciting than the flying challenges (and less bad for the climate, too!). Would love to see more seasons of this, maybe even with more teams.
Yeah, I first found this series and found about the around the world one afterwards. The climate issue was the first thing I thought about when I started watching it. I know they took a plane to go to France in this one but at least they don't promote travelling by plane and they take 2 planes, not 15.
Yes! That would be amazing!
@@noefillon1749 to be fair they always offset all of their emissions, 10-fold
@@Ingenius_ Honestly, not emitting in the first place is always better than offsetting their emissions. But that's way better than doing nothing.
@@Ingenius_ offsetting emmisions is IMO often misleading, even if 10 fold. Especially without transparency which projects are being invested in with the offset money. It has been proven that many climate offset programs don't capture the amount of CO2 that they claim, even if they don't do it on purpose. Tight control and regulation is almost impossible.

Absolutely loving this series.
I think you guys should try doing something like this in South/South-east Asia. You'd not have consistent network coverage, most of the online time tables would be ridiculously inaccurate and nothing would ever leave on time. That would definitely add to the fun 😂😂😂

I love how Ben inadvertently has become the: "You may have outsmarted me, but I outsmarted you outsmarting me" meme
Ben is such a Himbo and I'm so here for it
This has been the best parody of the game tag I've seen in a while but one change I think would make it fairer is the taggers not being able to see the runner's location during the 45 min the runner has to run. you can check trains and all that stuff but they can't check the runner's location, but other than that, This is really fun to watch.
was too lazy to write my own comment, so I just searched yours ! :)
Sam and Adam, one stop away: It's over Ben, we have the high ground!
Gare du Nord: You underestimate my power!
Considering how much of a maze Gare du Nord is, it's no wonder Game Freak made Lumiose City in Pokémon XY even more of a maze (at least Lumiose City's station is much easier to navigate with only one train service to Kiloude City). After this series, France might as well make pain au chocolat their national dessert (or, dessert breakfast). As for the profiterole, Ben should've went to a supermarket like Lidl. I mean American supermarkets have bakeries and European supermarkets are no exception.
OMG What a wild move by Ben! Powerup + Very accurate guess of the population!
“Close the door and look anti-social” good advice for any situation
I love they the delays and setbacks have been the most effective at helping them
I guess the master strat is to get away cheaply then amass so much coins for one or two rounds then gun for whatever.
I just wanna see a tracker of everyone's paths so far I bet it's crazy
Idea: City Alphabet
You have to get to a city starting with every letter in alphabetical order
This one can be completed in Ohio
The editor emphasising the fact that Sam and Adam got the wrong wrote in mind is really funny! Thanks editor. 🤣
I'm surprised no one has used the biking option yet. You could bike next to the train tracks to make the chasers think you are on a train, then once they get on choose a different route.
I really think the strat for this would be to spam the "double value" power up waaay more, especially early on. They didn't use it even when they were just trying to farm coins
Unless you know they aren’t behind you it’s a big risk. Risking one hour not being able to do anything other than walk is a big deterrent.
@@qwerty112311 most challenges are meant to be a time tax more than a veto risk, especially if you're in a large city where you have access to a variety of shops/restaurants/all the other things challenges are based on.
Plus, that bonus is basically free money if you draw a curse card.
i love how there keeps being situations that should theoretically put the runner at a massive disadvantage, yet they do the exact opposite of that
This channel is incredible man, the commitment and dedication that they have I am surprised you aren’t at a million yet!!
Rewatching this for the 4th time, and wanted to compliment yalls editing. The juxtaposition between Ben's light hearted music and the chasers' tense music was perfect.
i love that 4 episodes in ‘across europe’ so far has only been within France
Came for John Green, stayed for the train adventure
Bro that cliffhanger, was SO ANNOYING but has my hyped for next week at the same time
This series is really amazing with all the suspense, and strategy. In the future, I think the players will get better at determining outcomes due to things like veto periods.
I think an interesting variation would be if the chasers can split up. It would allow the chasers to cover multiple options, but also potentially allow the new runner to get a bigger head start.
You know what? I've decided that Ben is my favorite. I'm rooting for Team Ben.
god i love the contrast between adam and sam being stressed out of their minds while ben is just enjoying life
Great work, one suggestion. I don't think the chasers should be able to follow the runner's location until the 45min lead time is up. They get to formulate a plan while watching them run away. Kinda unfair in my opinion. :)
I think once they buy a ticket; they have to go on that route. They had already bought a ticket to the wrong city before they saw he was going elsewhere. The Chasers have the ultimate advantage of the location and presumably infinite budget to chase. Either limit how much they can spend or make them stick to their purchased tix.
You're forgetting that's the point. Its meant to be a fun competition. The rules are specifically designed to make it extremely hard for a single runner to escape and just win on their first time as a chaser. The rules are designed to create as many close encounters as possible because its more fun that way.
@@toddfayne7957 To be fair, when Adam and Ben set off for Dunkirk they still thought that Sam could also go to Dunkirk - they only found out he wasn't doing that while on the train.

By far the best series so far
I only just discovered this channel recently, but as I am going through this video series I am really coming to enjoy it. Come for the city travel, stay for the strategizing (or at least that was my take). The amount of thinking that goes into this is really interesting, though it’s too bad that (with some exceptions) it gives you less of an opportunity to look around.
Adam and Sam losing their brains thinking while Ben is just there eating his pan eu chocolatte.😂
My suggestion: When a player gains coins, don’t use the same noise as when they lose coins. Use a low to high pitch effect. P.S. I love your show.
Sam: I think we have a good shot of catching him right away
Morgan Freeman: *They didn't catch him right away*
Gare du Nord fun fact: It is the busiest station outside Japan, serving 700K passengers per day. It's also the third largest station in the world (hence it being a maze). Great to see Ben using his noggin this time around! Going to smaller cities is a solid strategy. Using up his coins to go right to Lille in the first episode was a poor choice instead of going south from Charleville to Longwy and Luxembourg.
I don't understand how on Earth Adam and Sam thought going for Amien was a good idea. Even if Ben didn't get on the Brussels train, you'd expect behing ahead of him towards his own destination would give them better reaction time to cut him off.
This is one of the most underrated channels ever! a series of this quality should have at least 2 mil subscribers
Suggestion: Please add a marker to show scale when it shows the map. Sometimes its hard to tell if they're traveling 10 miles or 100 miles

I love this channel so much. Its becoming a part of my calender on Wednesday evening.
As a suggestion for another game across Europe or some other place, you could try playing with the rules of Scotland Yard which is a board game that makes you see your location only for a period of time before hiding again, however this would be too easy for the runner so the better option would be to do it in a smaller area
