This kids story is so much like other kids all over the country and there are generations of kids over the years that have been "adopted" by firehouses and have influenced kids to go on to be firefighters. Someone should make a documentary or big screen movie telling these stories.. maybe this kid should try making a doc about it. Not just his story, but multiple stories.. i think it would be a hit...

I agree bud. I know just about every firehouse in the Bronx & Harlem that have similar stories of kids that pretty much grew up there. The guys helped keep their heads on straight, helped with homework, fed them regularly. We used to go to 58s and the guys would wrench on our bikes anytime for us. There’s some amazing stories out there like this one
