In this Au muzan wasn't born weak he aimed to be stronger to protect his older siblings who took care of him. Unfortunately his older siblings were twins representing the sun and moon they were cursed to be immortals.
On the day the demon slayers killed muzan his older siblings were in the shadow hiding and slowly reviving him because of his crimes it took there lives to revive him.
Which is this part where muzan questioned them why "Why save me when I was awful to those humans?"
