  • 📽 My review of the titanium widebody Neonic Flare... this paddle didn't disappoint. This paddle hits hard, has a great feel, and a wide sweet spot. There aren't many people that I think wouldn't like this paddle.

    💁‍♂️ What the "Titanium" in paddles actually is a little bit of a mystery at this point (see the recent Nerdtown Podcast for insight here), but what I do know is that Titanium seems to give paddle a 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞, 𝐩𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐡 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥, and they 𝐡𝐢𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 than their carbon fiber equivalents

    I feel like you have been leading the NEONIC charge for a while. With this release, however, it's time for you to get a larger bandwagon! This one is going to be a very popular option. Side by side testing... still really setting your reviews apart from the rest. Thank you for the review.

    I like your term “linear power to effort correlation.” I think that’s what’s making some of us hesitant in our use of the joola mod 15 and def the gearbox PPE, or even the paddletek TKO with fiberglass layer is that non-linear spring particularly in the diving board core of the mod 15. Where if a ball comes fast and hits end of diving board on propulsion core it’s hard to control and there’s difficulty resetting. Even the engage pro 1 has flex in handle that I can visually see at least on the 14 mm where it bends or flex back on hard hit balls coming fast, making it difficult to control. So what’s your recommendation for the best amount of power, but with completely predictable linear propulsion? Like a shogun or thrive Azul? bc some of the just hardest hitting regular gen 2 like a black diamond maybe have no dwell time and no touch.

    I have a J2K. It’s great but the power/pop isn’t as great as the stability and spin is. If I wanted something that’s still easy to control, has spin, but has some more power/pop what would you suggest? Others have suggested the Ruby, Shapeshifter, and the Mark One.

      Yeah, seems to be something paddle manufacturers aren't the most transparent about at the moment, but whatever it is, it certainly provides a unique feel and playability aspects!

      @@PickleballMedicine I just wish there was more information. It seems like marketing to pull unknowing people in, which is most of the public had I not watched that small blur within a podcast I’m really curious how titanium compares to Kevlar.

    • @PickleballMedicine
      @PickleballMedicine  2 месяца назад +2

      I think they are both good, but I prefer the Flare. The All court is a touch lighter and has equivalent pop, but the Flare had better spin, power and feel (subjective). It does hit just a little harder than the J2Ti, too, but suprisingly the sweet spot on the J2Ti is a little bigger, mostly in terms of vertical length
