This song is so beautiful, yet it is very sad to remember all of the broken things that brought about this song and to see how it continues to be so relevant. Actually, I think we were more hopeful then in spite of the harsh world than young people today. We've learned many terrible things about our government since then and many of our citizens are trying to move backwards. I also appreciate Adam's lovely musicality and the whole vibe he brought to his performance. Unfortunately, he sounded a little out of tune sometimes, but I still loved that he sang this beautiful song and the band also sounded wonderfully. I'm truly sorry to read that Adam is gone. He has an amazing voice and always gave really enjoyable performances. Have a good day!

Have you heard the original by Marvin Gaye? We were still in Vietnam when this song was written. It's sad that it is still very relevant. Adam gave a beautiful, soulful performance and the band also was great.

The best part was the bass guitar playing. I wonder who was playing it. There's two guitarists and a drummer on one side and three backup vocalists, saxophonist, and keyboards on the other side. Where's the bass player? It was the loudest instrument in the mix. I thought everyone played live? We need an investigation into this!
i have gotten so used to seeing him rock his guitar already 🤣 but to be fair, he's still a badass singer without it 🤣 i do think he should stick to more current soul music, though, like he did with the Black Pumas song in the knockouts! regardless, hope he advances!

I agree unfortunately - he has a beautiful voice yet the tone on this legendary song felt off. the way he sang “what’s going on” felt almost too glib, as if he was saying “what’s up yall” rather than why are people being tear-gassed in the park up the street from their own home which is what inspired Marvin Gaye to write this song
I think this was my least favorite from Adam and I really like him. I felt that the song didn't go anywhere for me, and I needed more energy that was lacking. He's going to need a great song and a great performance slot in the IS tonight to make it through. I'm just not sure if the producers wants him in or not. It's all about pimpage, who the producers are pushing for, who they want in the finale, and getting great numbers on social media. His social media on Facebook looks bad right now. That's the main demo that votes.
