    Sees the S-tier and agree 100% with the top picks.
    They're also "okey" choices if you want to be able to use it as a stam DD later - especially Imperial with 2k stam and cheaper ulti's.

    Best thing about the Nord is indeed the extra resistances. Saves you about two traits that you can use for something else.

    breton to me is between S and A, since most of support/healing/cc abilities are using magicka and they are fkn costly. but definetly not B.

    I will never understand how the Redguard "weapon expert" race gets no weapon damage bonus. I guess maybe they used to be overpowered and ZoS nerfed?

    • @itaxevasixn8808
      @itaxevasixn8808 2 года назад

      Yeah its really actually sad how useless everything about redguard is… theyre literally objectively the worst race to play for like 99% of situations in the game. Its honestly absurd.

    • @arch_6133
      @arch_6133 2 года назад

      redguard used to be the only good stamina dps pick for years, they only got taken down a peg when ZOS reworked race passives

    *in depth analyze of the "tank race tier list" by TC Lee.*
    While a lot of the information he gave is accurate, there have been some misinformation, and lots of double standards.
    *Misinformation and double standards (small list):*
    1. high elf *does not* regen stamina while blocking (high elf recovers the smaller stat, and he did mention that he wants stamina to be higher few sentences after he said "you regain stamina while blocking")
    2. breton being a good race for mag (double ice with mag block passive) - other than the 2k max mag, non of the breton passives benefit that style more, 130 mag regen? disabled. 7% reduction on mag cost abilities? while mag tanking you will generally deviate to using more stam abilities to have better balance on sustain, so you will get less benefit from it than on a regular build.
    3. "The reason everyone recommend nord is because of the ult gen" - wrong, the main point has always been resistances.
    4. Nord resist passives being "halved" - wrong, they went from 3900 to 2600, which is cutting 1/3 out. not a big thing, but it does change the impact of his words of "before that change nord was obviously the best".
    5. weapon/spell damage stats buffing our healing skills - while it is true to some skills, it doesnt affect *majority* of *tank* heals (altar, burst heal, nb and templar HoTs).
    6. "on imperial you will have ult earlier than on nord" - I have already did the 6% ult cost reduction vs 5 ult per 12.5 seconds (allowing 2.5s error on passive) math in this very channel. case in point is that 0.4 ult/s (nord passive) is better than 6% reduction on ult cost as long as your ult regen is below 6.266/s (math is 100/94>(0.4+x)/x), and that by ult gain you will naturally have more ult faster, to cast horn again. at base 3.66 ult/s (minor heroism+combat regen) on nord you will cast ult every 62~ seconds (4.06x62= 251) while on imperial you will cast it every 64 seconds (3.66x64=234). notice that on non ult race, it doesnt change much, at 68~ seconds, so regardless the benefit *is minor* but the nord passive *is* better in the majority of situations *if we are comparing the two ultwise* . even to take the asylum example in his video, assuming you take damage every 20 seconds (his words, i dont agree), across a minute (it takes more time to generate ultimate as per calculations above) you will get the 15 ultimate the nord passive, that imperial passive deducts from the cost, so even in that *extreme* example, they are the same.
    7. on many occasions (Argonian and Imperial) there is a long explanation how max stats are so good, and one of the reasons imperial is as good as nord, and yet you see the second most stat dense race, at the bottom.
    8. one of the reasons khajit entered b tier was because "if you want a race that can do all roles", while dunmer is definitely a great option for that in that case. *How races should have really been addressed:*
    Generally tank races choice can be split into 3 sections you have to consider. max stats, sustain, and "other" benefits. while nord definitely rocks the "other" section thanks to their massive armor boost, allowing them to end up in s tier, imperial having major max stats and good sustain passives, and red guard having enormous sustain benefits, other races *have not been addressed fairly*, specifically dunmer, orc, and khajit, altmer.
    Dunmer gets their massive stat density overlooked, that alone makes them a fairly "fine" tanking class (imperial got much worse sustain than redguard and yet they are in the same category, shows that more ults and more stats is a massive thing, and yet Lee is shitting on ult passive from nords, and entirely ignoring dunmer stats). should be b tier.
    Orcs are overhyped because their heal and run passives, while both are useful, orc does not provide any sustain, nor stat benefits, making them a not that good of a tanking race. back when they gave more stats (before nerf) they were one of the recommended races because you could change to damage dealer half through the trial when off tank wasnt needed, but since then dunmer definitely overtook them in that regard. Should be c tier.
    Khajit are definitely overhyped, the crit healing passive is almost useless (your crit is very low, so you cant count on that passive consistently), and the sustain benefits are low. The stat density though is really good, and the only reason it should reach b tier, but its not addressed as the reason correctly.
    Altmer - low max stat density, but it's real benefit is the sustain benefits (100 mag/s), which is the only reason it can stay in the c tier, alongside the orcs. same stat density, sustain vs some healing across the fight. even the weapon and spell damage bonus is the same. sounds fair, no?

    Nord's Ultimate Gain is worse than you think. It is 5 ultimate on a 10 second cooldown, but only procs from damage taken. If you aren't being hit, such as between pulls or kiting something, you gain 0 ultimate. If you are hit but take no damage from it you also gain nothing. And if you do take damage, chances are low that you will get hit exactly every 10th second (which would give 30 ult per minute if it hit perfectly every cooldown). You will be hit every 11-15th second in most fights. So the gain is 20-27 ultimate per minute in combat. That is so low that it might as well not even exist.

    Thanks for this. I use a Redguard, use magicka regen on my rings, and really have zero issues with any sort of resource management, all while holding 40k health. I can hold my shield up 60% of the time and never have an issue with resources. Good stuff.

    Thank you! I wanted a Redguard character but was about to do nightblade for a variety of reasons. Given that this game is short on tanks, and tanks have an advantage over DPS and healers (no hate, people, my main is a DPS) this video (and your other one a year ago) pushed me to switch from Redguard nightblade to Redguard tank.

    So for fun, I changed my necro from imperial to wood elf the other week. My sustain was actually better in XS on my wood elf; I don't permablock and I really notice the stamina recovery. And that movement bonus... so nice.
    That's all. But also, I disagree about the nord's ultimate gen. Sure it's not a huge amount but with sax and Naz scaling off the amount spent, and the fact that it gets to ult about as fast as imperial, you'll always have better interaction with those very powerful sets

  • @mr.xernorus4026

    Maybe im doing this wrong for the utl generation for Nord vs Imperial but for magma armour for exemple wich cost 200
    imperial: 200*0,06 = 12 ult save
    Nord: gives you 15 ult in 30sec
    So long term, yes Nord is better for ult regen. I think Imperial will be better if they just give them flat stats like +2000 life, stam and magicka, since theyre suppopuse to be the generic jack of all trades master in lore.

    S-tier or F-tier, for me Dunmer in TES is not a choice, it's a requirement.
    The ending of the words is Almsivi.
    (though I don't see how Altmer's C and Dunmer's D, as their bonuses are almost identical. Is Spell Recharge really "one more tier" grade useful, over 2k extra Stamina?)

    • @MyAmazingUsername
      @MyAmazingUsername 2 года назад +1

      He said that tanks mostly cast magicka skills. Stamina is just used for blocking and refreshing the taunt every 15 seconds.

  • @jesseleeshoemakerjr5461

    I agree for the most part. I would swap Argonian and Breton, honestly. Argonians are healers ever since the great Elsweyr nerf, and they aren't even the best option for healers. But they really aren't great tanks anymore.
    Ever since that same Elsweyr nerf all my old Redguard stam dps were repurposed as tanks and I love them. Even better with the armory system, my Redguards easily swap to dps in situations where a tank is less effective than an extra dps.
    Overall, good list. You downplay the Nord a bit too much. Too much personal opinion and trying to force people to see things your way is never attractive. Half this video felt like you going in on Nord ulti gain. I play Nords. The ulti gain is actually awesome.

    • @vic44rd
      @vic44rd 2 года назад

      You gain like 20-30 ult for every minute in combat with nord. Emphasis on "in combat".
      How is that awesome exactly?

    • @jesseleeshoemakerjr5461
      @jesseleeshoemakerjr5461 2 года назад

      @@vic44rd Well, as a tank you tend to be "in combat". Or at least I do. Lol...
      To each his own. If that doesn't seem beneficial to you, don't play a Nord tank. You'll find that I don't give a fuck what you decide to do. I've tanked with most races in the game and the Nord ultimate generation passive is quite noticeable "in combat". To each his own.

    I don't agree with you and maybe you can clarify, if you have 33k resistance but you have Nord or Dunmer resistances that go over, you still get the benefit. As far as I know and researched, you only not get the benefit or get diminishing returns at worst, if you have more than 33k armor. If you have resistances boosted not by armor, then there is no such thing as a cap.
    I even used to run around with more than 33k on all resists and the game clearly states I have % reduced damage for that element. Further increasing resistances, GIVES ME MORE % REDUCED DAMAGE. The game says so itself.
    So either you don't know what you're talking about or the game is lying.
    Armor is capped at 33k, your resistances aren't. Therefore being a Nord, Dunmer or even Breton does have it's benefits.

    • @zvavi7736
      @zvavi7736 2 года назад +1

      this is wrong. all resistances are as good as capped at 33k. while you can have "more" theoretically, your damage reduction for above 33k resistances, is 50% (PvE), regardless of how high it is.
