Instead of seeing this and thinking everything is ruined, remember that undoing trolls was ALWAYS a part of the plan and enjoy how each duo deals with them. The point isn't who makes the most progression but who makes the best of their situation.
I think 2 hours of PROGRESS is much better because people just wasted their time trolling rather than progressing. **Cough** cata and tommy **cough**. There couldve been more creative trolling if some of them had more time too
Making gear only be able to be stored in piggy banks/safes might be a good addendum for the trolling. The blank maps make the hiding gear troll turn from a game of following breadcrumbs to where we saw teams starting over from scratch in hard mode.
I love the contrast between "we destroyed and hide permanent upgrades this is the worst thing we could do i feel sorry for the next person" *for an error does near nothing* to "we just did a spwan trap nothing major" *takes 20 minutes trying to escape* and "we just hide our stuff in a conspicous place" *next duo never finds it ans the next one to that does it after the time limit*

@tedor7988yeah you can use faulty logic sensors to make it more random, there’s a bunch of cool stuff that’s possible, i just didn’t know much about them at time of recording
@PrismaAce you could have made the mech warning message, after a bit the “___ has awoken” and “___ is no longer after you” immediately after so it would look real and it would look like the game was glitching all the time and couldn’t spawn the boss
PrismaAce & Yardis had the best troll by far. It wasn't just a physical inconvenience for the next player, it was deception to every player that came after. A troll that you don't even notice is a troll, immediately. A troll that, the second you notice it, you've undone the damage. It was absolutely perfect.

Simply banning the no item start might be a bit far, as it CAN be done well in contexts of a brief, 5-10 minute puzzle or platforming to retrieve, but a chest on the opposite side of the world during an invasion stops any chance of progress. Yes, the mod itself was a large part of the "slow" progress, as shown by the fact everyone was so consistently behind pace, but many of the "pranks" were arguably worse. Beehive? Excessive, but not that bad in the context of the others. No shimmer? That one is very much a judgement call where i side against it for the simple fact it removes options, but i also cant say it ruined any segment, either. Survive a drop to find the chest with loot? If properly thought out with an intended way to break your fall at the bottom, fine. Gaslighting box? Especially with the limitless potential of "trolls", the shimmer could have gone a long way towards allowing for a wider variety than just "lol, your equipment is on the opposite side of the world!" Just as a few ideas, breaking all your equipment and items down into their materials, which achieves the same purpose but only inconveniences the next team until they can get the stuff to the corresponding work bench, shimmer-locking players to a random underground cavern they first come upon, or invisifying a small horde of enemies and letting them loose in the base. And on the flip side, we have the amount of struggle the mod itself inflicted that could have made the luxury of the shimmer a ray of light in the dark chaos the world devolved into. When money was a problem, break down useless stuff to sell or re-craft equipment for the poor man's reforging. Get useful materials out of the garbage other teams wasted time using to troll (like salvaging TNT barrels, the announcement box, or maybe even some of the hive). "speed up" the progression reset of the sky island troll by finding the few junk items that would have stopped a need to mine for a fresh set of equipment and hellstone. I fully acknowledge that it was one of the better trolls of the video simply for originality, but it happened so early in the world that there was no chance to make use of the shimmer itself. I was already on the fence, but it was how early it happened that made me side against it. If it happened post-plantera, that would be a different story, as would simply putting it at the start of hardmode, but instead, even pre-hardmode teams who would already get minimal use out of the shimmer couldnt use it.

@mcuziman I don’t blame you. Practically speaking, the permanent upgrades are the most use your gonna get out of the shimmer. That and if you wanna move shimmer in large quantities you’re gonna need the bottomless shimmer bucket. You need to fish for that and almost no one fishes 😢

The way i heard it was throwing an empty bucket into shimmer POST MOONLORD ONLY. You CANT fish in shimmer, as doing so just gives you the incorporeal effect the moment your bobber touches the liquid, and the bottomless buckets are rarely obtained by fishing in the corresponding liquid. As for moving it around, pumps are still an option. But yes, the shimmer is finite until obtaining the bottomless bucked variant for it.

ros1a and MyKrasOtherStuff’s segment was just so painful to watch. Usually I’d enjoy people suffering in video games, but holy crap. At least they allowed MrJFL and GP to have good enough gear to be able to get through and defeat one mech. ros1a and MyKrasOtherStuff def need more credit though for all the torture they went through

im fine with the trolling. but it needed to be minor and not just hiding gear. the announcing message for example was a good troll. it fooled everyone after them without making them have a set back.

perhaps instead of "troll the next participant" next time you should ask everyone to "leave a surprise for the next participant", that would still result in trolling, most likely, but might not impede progress as much since there (hopefully) are some nice people within the collab
@Throarbini did say "hopefully" for a reason but i do remember some people in past "Pass the World"s actually valuing progress over trolling so that could potentially translate into nice surprises on one or two occasions
You wonder why the mechs still haven’t been beaten when it’s projected that you’d be at the pillars… when people keep doing the same troll continuously where they hide the loot so far away that you’ll never find it and 90% of every players time is just restarting again while in hardmode. It’s not a troll, it’s sabotage, and it gets infuriating quick. I’m just glad you recognised that problem for next time
The most effort by most groups were how to troll the absolute most. People spending half their time finding gear and some straight up making gear from scratch because they can't find the gear. I blame the map data not carrying over the most, hard to find a chest in an area you don't even have on your map.
I don’t know if throarbin would read this because of amount of comments or if this is even a good idea but I will still put it here. A pass the world collab where the players split into two teams. Everyone gets 1 hour 45 minutes on the world of their team to progress and then 15 minutes on the world of enemy team to troll them as much as possible and the team to beat moonlord first wins. This idea was inspired by *how quickly this went from duo pass the world to PTW but we make everyone after us suffer*
@Throarbin If you ever try a versus style pass the world, I think it would be best if they only pass the worlds and not the players So it basically means invasion style, where they use their team's player to troll the other team's world, this way, they'd have to collect the resources themselves they would use for the trolling and this way, the other team would need to set up countermeasures for the invasion
the MrJFL and ThatGP segment was by far the best, this was the vibe and energy I was hoping for this entire video, bros straight up said 'fuck it' n that's what I'm here for
The Blood Moon and Pirate Invasion prank was the best, the Bee Hive was also pretty nice, too bad it caused alot of confusion on the gear moving forward. Maybe for next time add a rule that Equipment destruction is not allowed and hiding it needs a hint/direction to it, because some teams didn't really accomplish anything and not because of a lack of skill.
When I saw the rope, I expected one person to start, get another person, and then that person swap with a different partner, like a game of terraria telephone.
@Throarbin some of the pranks were good (the announcement box one was really creative and funny) but I think the issue might be that putting stuff in a chest on the other end of the world has been done too many times and inhibits teams too much. maybe adding a rule that prohibits that specific prank would be good for next time, or maybe a rule that says pranks must be lighthearted and not inhibit progress TOO much might help too. the caveat that says teams can add extra time if hindered by another teams prank was a good idea as well. overall a minor issue imo, the video overall was fun!
just the Tether alone i think the teams could've probably used a bit more time, but having the troll requirements? that definitely needed some tighter limitations. the attempted 'Hard Mode but no Hammer or ores' had some really nasty potential fallout, saved by the backup character file having the 'missing PWNhammer' in the inventory. some teams absolutely took the trolls too far (especially with the added rule later on to not lose all the time of a segment to a troll) it was fun seeing how some people just played around knowledge of the tether mod or made a little challenge to get the gear from a chest.

I hope that's worth something if ya see this. 1:18:05 We went easy on you there *pal*. You didn't have to deal with a 4 hour "find your loot" game. (2 being from the previous team) 1:23:00 I just want to put it out there, this wasn't us. It would have been funny if we said nothing about it but yeah we never touched the underground jungle. Overall a fun watch to me. I'm super surprised so many people took the 2 hour limit like a strict cutoff when the goal is the make entertaining content. GP and I broke the rules because we could do something fun with it and I hope that made it worthwhile. The whole "5 extra minutes to troll" could be an hour realistically so long as it would be easy to figure out. Ultimately it's a learning moment for next run but despite everything I think a lot of us still had fun.
Hiding the gear once was funny, after that got pretty samey. I quite enjoyed the teams who had other trolls like wrecking the shimmer, the hive house, and the announcement box.
I like these mega collaborations. Yeah, this one had its issues, like some pranks severely stalemating other duos’ progress. It’s not perfect, but it doesn’t mean it’s not enjoyable. Keep doing these, Throarbin!
Honestly if trolling is a part of the next one, I think each person/duo should have to do something unique. As an example, take the parkour and gaslight machine. Once those were done, no other group could do it, though I don't know how you would be able to implement that - maybe have the ppl/groups come up with a list of trolls and then have them annoynomously pick (perhaps random numb generator or smth of the like determines pick order) And like a lot of ppl, the gaslight machine was absolutely my favorite troll.
This vid was kinda painful to watch because it was full of irritation and things that just didn’t seem pleasant. But all things considered, each pair of players being handicapped by the last and master mode enabled, their skill was made obvious. The amount of progress made in their short time with the world is insane. And some players were just satisfying to watch like kepples and catt. The amount of gear progress they made was critical to the next pairs of players. They might not have killed much for bosses but they set the next players up for that. They just worked really well together I think. Also the edgy ego duo was pretty lame. “We should just troll rather than make progress bc we have nothing to prove”. Like who are you? I’m happy they made progress and didn’t troll but their initial ego made me sick. Imagine having ego like that on terraria.
My favorite duos were: -PrismaAce & YARDlS - their gaslighting machine was funny af; I liked how they were productive while also having light fun. -MrJFL & ThatGP - I really liked their attitude towards what they were left with and said fuck it, broke the rules timeline wise, and tried to accomplish something more. I hope MrJFL is okay. -wexelradley & ilikecheese1 - vibes were immaculate. -ros1a & MykraPercent - I'm really glad they stuck around even though they were left with the short end of the stick. When they took the minecart and slammed straight into the lava, that was hilarious. I liked the video concept and how it involves terraria community content creators to collaborate, but I didn't like unrestricted boundaries of trolling and it really fucked other duos over. I know it's "just a game" and it's "just a challenge", but it really shows parts of the true character & personality of each content creator when dealt with a bad hand. This video really sends home the message: "Try to leave this world a little better than you found it."
1. Kepples and cattwithtwots edit with the persona music was soo friggin cool to watch 2. Probably next time the time limit should not be a rule, a better rule would be that everyone is allowed to kill 1 main progression Boss in whatever the amount of time. the biggest problem is the amount of time lost because the "trolling" stacks, so the last player has to deal with all the trolling 30 people beforehand did and that was also the most anoying part to watch in this video. some people just got lost in the world without showing what they are capeable of because the world wouldnt let them in the amount of time they had.
I do think I should have made it so undoing trolls didn't count as time towards the total. Although giving these jokers free reign to spend as much time as they want until they kill a boss only begs for them to get up to more heinous deeds, lol

The most effort by most groups were how to troll the absolute most. People spending half their time finding gear and some straight up making gear from scratch because they can't find the gear. I blame the map data not carrying over the most, hard to find a chest in an area you don't even have on your map.

I don’t know if throarbin would read this because of amount of comments or if this is even a good idea but I will still put it here.
A pass the world collab where the players split into two teams. Everyone gets 1 hour 45 minutes on the world of their team to progress and then 15 minutes on the world of enemy team to troll them as much as possible and the team to beat moonlord first wins.
This idea was inspired by *how quickly this went from duo pass the world to PTW but we make everyone after us suffer*
I've considered a versus style pass the world before, not sure it'd work how I want it yet
@Throarbin If you ever try a versus style pass the world, I think it would be best if they only pass the worlds and not the players
So it basically means invasion style, where they use their team's player to troll the other team's world, this way, they'd have to collect the resources themselves they would use for the trolling and this way, the other team would need to set up countermeasures for the invasion

The one thing that I don't understand about this video is how people kept on not realizing the blood moon was fake when there was no red screen effect
The Blood Moon and Pirate Invasion prank was the best, the Bee Hive was also pretty nice, too bad it caused alot of confusion on the gear moving forward.
Maybe for next time add a rule that Equipment destruction is not allowed and hiding it needs a hint/direction to it, because some teams didn't really accomplish anything and not because of a lack of skill.
When I saw the rope, I expected one person to start, get another person, and then that person swap with a different partner, like a game of terraria telephone.
Lesson learned, next time, hiding gear is banned xD but i loved the beehive trap and the announcement box

I would say that the trolling went a bit too far. It completely ruined a teams turn, 2 hour wasted for another teams fun.
I do agree that most of them weren't very creative and perhaps a bit too mean at times
@Throarbin some of the pranks were good (the announcement box one was really creative and funny) but I think the issue might be that putting stuff in a chest on the other end of the world has been done too many times and inhibits teams too much. maybe adding a rule that prohibits that specific prank would be good for next time, or maybe a rule that says pranks must be lighthearted and not inhibit progress TOO much might help too. the caveat that says teams can add extra time if hindered by another teams prank was a good idea as well. overall a minor issue imo, the video overall was fun!

just the Tether alone i think the teams could've probably used a bit more time, but having the troll requirements? that definitely needed some tighter limitations. the attempted 'Hard Mode but no Hammer or ores' had some really nasty potential fallout, saved by the backup character file having the 'missing PWNhammer' in the inventory. some teams absolutely took the trolls too far (especially with the added rule later on to not lose all the time of a segment to a troll) it was fun seeing how some people just played around knowledge of the tether mod or made a little challenge to get the gear from a chest.
I love that at 6:55 Wild casually mentions: "By the way, I got the better character." & then the scene jump-cuts away XD

Overall a fun watch to me. I'm super surprised so many people took the 2 hour limit like a strict cutoff when the goal is the make entertaining content. GP and I broke the rules because we could do something fun with it and I hope that made it worthwhile. The whole "5 extra minutes to troll" could be an hour realistically so long as it would be easy to figure out. Ultimately it's a learning moment for next run but despite everything I think a lot of us still had fun.

Honestly if trolling is a part of the next one, I think each person/duo should have to do something unique. As an example, take the parkour and gaslight machine. Once those were done, no other group could do it, though I don't know how you would be able to implement that
- maybe have the ppl/groups come up with a list of trolls and then have them annoynomously pick (perhaps random numb generator or smth of the like determines pick order)
And like a lot of ppl, the gaslight machine was absolutely my favorite troll.
You grabbing the grapple before him is like a lesser karma for him dragging yall through the pvp 4-class world.

This vid was kinda painful to watch because it was full of irritation and things that just didn’t seem pleasant. But all things considered, each pair of players being handicapped by the last and master mode enabled, their skill was made obvious. The amount of progress made in their short time with the world is insane. And some players were just satisfying to watch like kepples and catt. The amount of gear progress they made was critical to the next pairs of players. They might not have killed much for bosses but they set the next players up for that. They just worked really well together I think.
Also the edgy ego duo was pretty lame. “We should just troll rather than make progress bc we have nothing to prove”. Like who are you? I’m happy they made progress and didn’t troll but their initial ego made me sick. Imagine having ego like that on terraria.

My favorite duos were:
-PrismaAce & YARDlS - their gaslighting machine was funny af; I liked how they were productive while also having light fun.
-MrJFL & ThatGP - I really liked their attitude towards what they were left with and said fuck it, broke the rules timeline wise, and tried to accomplish something more. I hope MrJFL is okay.
-wexelradley & ilikecheese1 - vibes were immaculate.
-ros1a & MykraPercent - I'm really glad they stuck around even though they were left with the short end of the stick. When they took the minecart and slammed straight into the lava, that was hilarious.
I liked the video concept and how it involves terraria community content creators to collaborate, but I didn't like unrestricted boundaries of trolling and it really fucked other duos over. I know it's "just a game" and it's "just a challenge", but it really shows parts of the true character & personality of each content creator when dealt with a bad hand. This video really sends home the message: "Try to leave this world a little better than you found it."
1. Kepples and cattwithtwots edit with the persona music was soo friggin cool to watch
2. Probably next time the time limit should not be a rule, a better rule would be that everyone is allowed to kill 1 main progression Boss in whatever the amount of time. the biggest problem is the amount of time lost because the "trolling" stacks, so the last player has to deal with all the trolling 30 people beforehand did and that was also the most anoying part to watch in this video. some people just got lost in the world without showing what they are capeable of because the world wouldnt let them in the amount of time they had.
I do think I should have made it so undoing trolls didn't count as time towards the total. Although giving these jokers free reign to spend as much time as they want until they kill a boss only begs for them to get up to more heinous deeds, lol
