That when I was little, I was always happy, a little ray of sun, so now that I'm grown up and have trauma, she gets mad at me because I'm not happy all the fucking time anymore. It's not always easy to fake a smile and act ok, but that's where practice comes in. For me, I pretend to be fine, but when I'm alone, I'll let down my mask. I smile during the day and cry at night, covering the red around my eyes with makeup in the morning so that no one notices. It helps if you have at least one friend that feels the same way as you so that you can talk to them and be yourself.

very glad i found this song because it's very relatable especially from 0:35- 1:11 bottling up emotions really is a thing and it can have either good or bad effects and for to not let people be worried at you that much, you put a happy face despite the hidden personal problems. I relate to this song, I have aspd, anxiety, I get yelled at for saying I'm a introvert, rarely get to be on my phone to "protect me", and I bottle up my emotions and eventually explode and just get yelled at, so most of the time I try to hide it with a smile and not show the fact that I'm dying on the inside. I really need therapy but my mom hasn't gotten me therapy yet. One of her friends said I should get therapy, and I agree. She also deleted the RUclips app on my phone because she hates it, so I'm using the website.
You should make your own decisions, don't let anyone else control your life. Nobody else knows just what you're feeling about something, so don't let her act like she does. Push her away, even, if this gets progressively worse, it's not worth it to stay in touch with someone like that. I usually like to joke around with things, but I can't joke with this.

It's not always easy to fake a smile and act ok, but that's where practice comes in. For me, I pretend to be fine, but when I'm alone, I'll let down my mask. I smile during the day and cry at night, covering the red around my eyes with makeup in the morning so that no one notices.
