This was my entire childhood. Literally loved this show. Watched every series when it was on. Never missed an episode. Went downhill for me when they moved to Scotland.
Mr Clarkson and Grantly didn't deserve to die I think the series should have kept them till the end of the series as after Tom died I got bored of the show
It wasnt there choice tom (jason ) wanted to leave and he had a like 6yr contract or something like that so they just made a exit for like everyone elese who dies or expelled or smthibg
They really ruined it by moving to Scotland because they lost pretty much all the cast. They should’ve Started a new TV series personally I think it slowly declined after season 4 Dante chlo Tom and Mika had the best story lines
When they went to scotland it seems loads of people think it got really bad. True - it wasn't exactly the same as what we'd had before, but it was still Waterloo Road, and had some great moments XD
It fit for the first season I think. I mean, the school was down in the dumps and chaotic. The smoother, more catchy theme in subsequent seasons made sense as the school regained a sense of pride.
This show was so pure and great from series 1-7. Series 8 was mediocre and season 9 and 10 were just, well lets not go there. I wouldn’t even call it bad but it’s just that the Scotland characters weren’t likeable or original at all
I agree with this I hardly watched it as it got towards Series 9-10, I always think that it stayed in Rochdale it could of still been on BBC one now or at least lasted a few more years
I was looking for Waterloo Road a while ago on the TV, but I could never remember what it was called! I remembered about two minutes of one episode, and that the one who played Chalky was in it, but that was all I had to go on! Tried episode one on the box sets, and heard the theme and thought - "hmm, no, don't remember this - ah well, it's a good show so far, gonna watch some more." Got to series two, heard the theme, and realised that it was the show I'd been looking for all along! Got all the way to series ten, and don't regret one minute of it - iconic show, characters, storylines and everything else! Bloody brilliant! Forever going to be an all-time favourite of mine.
I started watching Waterloo Road when the first episode of Season 4 aired. I've been a huge fan since and I really hope they do another season of the new series. Like this show was my serotonin and I need more 🤣
I completely forgot this show. Forgot how looong it stayed on air. What warm memories. More reality-based than Channel 4's Teachers, but the two complete each other.
It’s tragic really that the person who’d been in it the longest by the final episode was from Season 7 (Maggie). Shame this video doesn’t include every version of the theme tune (e.g Series 3 with Jack, Series 3 with Rachel)
I think season 8 theme is the best also I think from season 7 episode 11 to season 8 episode 19 with Michael, sian and Tom as manege ent was just the best
They definitely should’ve put the 2nd season 7 intro on, as it was such a major change, as there was a new head, new deputy head, 2 new teachers and 2 teachers left
I’ve often wondered how the opening titles were made. The bits with the tables that form the logo. Was the whole thing put together and filmed from above or is it all computer generated?
I was a kid when season 9 came out and I told myself they were the best. I started from the beginning on Iplayer and boy I was wrong, live for Steph’s drama and I quite like Davina Shackleton!
Would be awesome to get a prequel of this show and see what Brian Vaisey was like as head. We only saw him losing his mind on the roof at the beginning.
The move to Scotland was a strange one. Re-watching the show on BBC Iplayer and its great. The show was always good for me but the earlier Series were the best, Series 1-5. 6 and 7 weren't as good, I like 9 and 10 enough but you could tell the show was kind of on its last legs. To be fair 10 Series is a great run. I started to loose interest when after Tom and Grantly left. They kept it going for a bit but still such a great show. Love Waterloo Road and that theme was great, sorry the Series 1 theme was not good but at least they fixed it in Series 2. :)

I have to agree here the Music at the beginning of the episodes prepares us for the full episode. I love the theme song for the show, Shame it had to be cut
The worst head teachers were Vaughan and Michael. I feel like everything they did was for show, to make them look good with all their ideas and initiatives, meanwhile Vaughan was a terrible father who cheated on his wife and walked out on his family, and Michael was having an affair with Sian. Two reasons why the show was so good.
Two characters who defined the show.
Two reasons why I watched series 8.
Two reasons teachers I wished I had.
Remarkably only 8 People ever died In Waterloo road in all the 9 years it was on
S1 theme definitely fits: It sounds like the theme of trouble, in this case the school being threatened to be closed
No it does not, it's not catchy at all, sounds generic.
I'm glad they changed the theme tune from series 2 onwards the series 1 theme just felt weird
It fit for the first season I think. I mean, the school was down in the dumps and chaotic. The smoother, more catchy theme in subsequent seasons made sense as the school regained a sense of pride.
The only bad thing about this series is that once you watch it you can't watch it again and get the raw emotion from it.
This acc needs to come back on tv. One of the best shows of all time 👌🏼

It’s back next year
