whew. after spending many a stupid, winter's night alone on small boats, trying to sleep between wool blankets, encrusted stiff with frost, the story rings uncomfortably true.
I hope you’re not spending this night that way; on a small, lonely boat shivering beneath frost-encrusted, itchy wool. I don’t think it’s a feeling many people know, anymore but, I do. You have a intriguing descriptive way of conveying a lot, with the brevity of thrift. I’d love to hear your stories, if you care to share one.
I also like horror that’s relentless and gets worse with each sentence so this one is a true gem. Speaking as one who falls out of bed fairly routinely I can testify to how damned disorienting it is. Could it have been a vulture dragging a huge rotting fish across the deck ?
Great narration as always. Enjoyed every moment of it. Very interesting, thought provoking story, also the background details and analysis. Thanks and regards
A damp and dreary tale indeed! I felt it captured well the muddy mess of the color-starved winters of Indiana too, where all we see for months on end is grey, brown, and white. Thank you for another great one!
Listening to this in a warm, cozy, 1700's farmhouse in Braystones, Cumbria while a storm gusts outside. Saw the full moon start to rise behind Skiddaw yesterday afternoon in the early dusk after a family dog walk. What a beautiful story, and loving the synchronicity of finding it when I am in the Lakes for Christmas (my husbands family are all in Egremont/Whitehaven, we live far down south in Stroud) I was diagnosed with ME this year following Covid and a couple of other viruses almost exactly a year ago. I had to leave my job, spent months in bed, and am now back in work in a small way, and on my slow, gentle path to recovery. I love Victorian/Edwardian ghost stories, and your channel has been a godsend this year, keeping me sane in the months when I wasn't strong enough even to read or knit! So pleased to hear that you are making a living from this, and have found confidence in your own stories. This one was excellent.
Love me a maritime story! And this has arrived just in time for a Christmas Eve bike ride. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours, Tony! 🥳
Coming back to this after listening over my tv--better sound to give lots of thumbs up CreepyReally creepy creepiness gets louder until it burst s the mind-eardrums.Perfect for a freezing, snowy evening--unfortunately Danish flats do not have blazing hearths. Pity. Am off now to the "Surprise View". Perfect Christmas Eve for those of us in virus isolation. Thank you, Tony!
@@ClassicGhost funny, it seems like a big deal that you replied. Now I owe you another gift. ;-). I'm joining you on Patreon in the next couple day. I've spent many, many hours listening to you. How can I not kick in a few bucks a month? I really enjoy your commentary at the end.
Merry Christmas to you and your family and friends, Tony! One of the highlights of my year has been discovering your podcast, obviously such a labor of love for you and so well done. Thank you and I hope you're having a lovely holiday.
I'm late to the listening---(on Tuesday, Christmas done and dusted)---but had no time for relaxation over the actual holiday. Thank you, Tony---whether newly recorded or done last year, really enjoyed it. Happy New Year! Cheers to 2022~~!
I have no experience of such things, never hope to have in future either. That being said, this story rang of such sadness, desolation and fear - just the feelings one would expect a murder victim to experience, and re-experience, searching for anyone to help them. Chilling.
Could you please tell me the name of the story that you read which begins with a young man having a car accident and going to a remote house for help? 🤔 Good wishes for the Winter Season and the New Year when it comes Xxx 🙏🏼 ❤️ 🍀 🗺️ 🏴🥃🥃

Not sure how I missed this one but the poor neglected and somehow sinister village is my ghostly sweet spot !
What this town needs - in absence of a Squire - is a good Town Manager. This is Sunderland isn’t it ?

The Town Manager!
I'm saving it for bedtime! Thank you so much for finding the time to post us a Christmas treat . Have a good one 💜💛💚💙
Your stories are my best Christmas gift. Thank you and Merry Christmas 2021.
Aww, ta. Merry Christmas ! 🎄 to you too.
I was thinking that, in 50 years, your stories will be considered "classic ghost stories."
That would be great. I will be dead but my grandkids will enjoy it :)
Good one! I absolutely felt the misery of the cold, wet setting, as if that weren't enough! There are worse things than a dreary landscape.
I’m glad ur here again telling me a story. Wat a rough day/evening 😮my favorite parts are the conversations at the end🥰
A magnificent story! Looking forward to this
Brilliant choice & narration! A story with breathtaking accelerating suspense- a gift of gooseflesh & spine tingles- thank you Tony & Merry Christmas!
Thank you, Tony, for a story on christmas eve. This one was great.. love your voice and always look forward to the next one. Enjoy your Holiday.

A lovely story for Xmas Eve. Thank you x
I love this story. It seems like something stupid I might do. 😂 I think I'm about to start counting my listens on the other hand.

Joy, fear and dread! Tony is going to read again!!
Have a very Merry Christmas ⛄🎄🎅🎄 thank you for so much wonderful narration.

I always imagine this to be Orford or some other neglected port on the east coast here in Suffolk.
I guess it is somewhere round there.
Merry Christmas Tony ❤️
You too
Happy Christmas & New Year Tony
Thanks Michael
