Spanish Friends Try THAI STREET FOOD in Bangkok, Thailand’s BEST Night Market: Jodd Fairs

- Adria and Ester CAME TO VISIT US FROM SPAIN!!! We've had such a great time showing them around Thailand!!! In this video we took them to Jodd Fairs - the BEST night market in Bangkok! It was their first time at a night market in Thailand, as well as their first time trying many of these Thai foods! We met them at the market at Phra Ram 9 MRT station. It was their first time taking the MRT, but luckily they found the market on their own! 🎉
Also disclaimer - most Spanish people HATE spicy food!!!
We started by eating some easy street food eggs, as well as some fried quail egg wontons. Next we tried some Thai grilled pork aka moo ping. After that we saw a stand where you could choose seafood skewers that they cooked right in front of you! They boys decided to be adventurous and try a jellyfish one, as well as a spicy octopus stick. We then ran into one of the Thai frozen coke slushie machines! Our friends had never seen one before so they were amazed and we obviously had to buy one! It was actually the first time Carles and I tried a frozen coke too so we were all pleasantly surprised! Next we tried some fried chicken - one piece cheese flavored, the other piece BBQ flavored. We then avoided the bugs, but bought some cheesy corn, a fired cheesy scallop, and fired beef steak pieces! Since we had a lot of food we wanted to try to find a table to try everything more comfortably, but it's often hard to find tables at Jodd Fairs! Luckily two really nice men moved over to make room for us.....and then they offered us some of their bugs to try!!! 😱 So Carles and Adria ended up trying Thai street food bugs after all! (Thank you guys so much!!!)
We then tried all the street food that we had bought. There was a restaurant behind us selling ribs that Adria wanted to try, so we ordered a small portion of ribs too. Ester went off searching for sushi which we had a variety of Thai sushi to try. And then it was the best time!!!
Time to find Thai dessert!!!
Earlier I had seen a waffle that I really wanted, but on the way to find it I ended up buying coconut pandan cake balls. I then designed my own waffle - vanilla waffle with chocolate chips and condensed milk...it was AMAZING! We needed one more dessert so Ester found us a Thai coconut pancake.
All in all it was a really successful first Thai night market trip where we got to try lots of yummy Thai street food!!

The market dinner with your Spanish friends was so enjoyable to watch. It's not often that we get to see reaction from a Spanish visitor to Thai snacks, albeit not originally Thai. I think they did quite well with the bugs. Bugs aren't traditional Thai food and it's enjoyed mostly by northern and northeast population. Again, not everyone likes them, but just the largest sales are in those regions. Jod Fair has a lot of interesting fusion foods that surprises even people acquainted with market snacks. Now I'm anxious to see where you bring your Spanish guests to next.

It was such a fun night! We definitely didn’t have as much actual Thai food as we have in smaller street markets, but the night market atmosphere there is so fun! 😍 all the desserts were sooo good! 🤤😍🤣

That Moo ping (Grilled Pork) go extremely well with sticky rice,
put it between 2 sticky rice and you could get a Thai style burger.
Seriously Macdonald Thailand once try sticky rice burger menu but end up didn't do it ever since then for some reason but it actually very good.

One thing to keep in mind for foreigners
Thailand has very kind people and there are also many scammers.
People in the provinces are kinder than people in Bangkok.

Those first two type of eggs are quail's egg. The thing is those wonton wouldn't still be crispy as it should for it was fried and rest for too long. I do love how you and your friends enjoy it. By the way, I like how the guys wearing t shirt with cat on, though. LOL I love cats. About 'seafood' in Thailand, I would tell you that you should assume all of them are spicy, for we always have seafood with that spicy dip/sauce. It depends on how they make it less or more spicy.
I think the eggs at markets are my favorite 😍🤣 although that was the first one we tried the ones in wontons and they were sooo good! 😍😍
Lol both guys wearing cat shirts was completely unplanned 🤣 I think Adria bought that shirt earlier the same day 🤣
And yes, we had to skip more of the seafood because they cannot eat spicy food at allllll - even if we don’t think it’s spicy, they think it’s SO spicy! Lol ❤️
