To think that now Baez has the same number of titles than Diego Schwartzman (4) proves that he´s having an excellent carrer for someone who´s 5 ft 7. And he´s only 22!
Had to look this up, that's crazy that Diego only has 4 in his career considering he reached 8 in the world
He is way more clutch at finals but schwartzman performs better on the big tournaments
@@angeljuarez1984 not anymore lmao it’s been like 3/4 years since then.
I looked it up to confirm, but no shot he's 5'7"
Nice spoiler dickhead.
Baez’s forehand is spinning like crazy. Heavy balls to the deep constantly. It’s a pleasure to watch his forehands ;)
Baez is got great preparation on that forehand
Yeah it just dips right at the the end. The depth is mad….the serve us not that great though…Coric has not trouble against it in the second set
Congratulations to Sebastian Baez!! Love the serving and returning and baseline dictating, impressive, and you are inspiration to us shorter players out there, blessings to you and your career!!
I’m the same height as Baez (5’7) and was told to quit tennis in my teens when I failed to grow taller. Doing it for us shorter men, an absolutely stunning performance! Goes to show, with hard work and rock solid technique height is a relative disadvantage that can be overcome, this beautiful sport ain’t just for the tall guys!
That’s where tennis differs from basketball for example. Great to see that anyone can play, from 5’5” to 7’0”!
The successor of Diego El Peque, good to see as a fellow shorty!
Definitely helps to have thighs of iron. Amazing lower body strength to be able to out-power players half a foot taller than him!
Height helps in this sport a lot as well, just not as much as sports like baskettball. It's literally impossible for you to get in the NBA without being close to 6 ft. In tennis, yeah these days the baseline game is played most of the time, so if you are really quick to get to every ball, your serve isn't as much of a liability. However, you can see players like Opelka and see that if you have a crazy height and crazy serve, your baseline game can be mediocre and still be in the top 100.
Justin Henin also proved that staying low to the ground with stronger body is actually a big benefit for tennis. Since its about whole body movement
What a hard working player Baez is. He just grinds away, These wins will build his confidence going into the US Open. He has good power for his height and a decent serve. I do wish he had a bit more variety, like lobs and drop shots. He tends to rip balls directly to his net position opponent when he could lob or hit around them. I have been a Baez fan for awhile now and as a 5'-7" tall guy myself, he is an inspiration.
5:7 is not short as people thing it’s basically almost closer to 6ft and Baez has dropshorts and has the power for hand
3 titles for Baez this season is huge.
I love how Baez proved despite being called underdog in every match in this tour.
Without getting much attention Baez is the player with most titles this season who is not medvy, alcaraz or nole 🔥🔥
So happy for Baez. Baez was struggling for a long time and I was getting worried. Hope to see Baez go deep at the US Open!!
First round
Game over !!!
Will go out 1R probably, he's tired
But he is young (22 y.o.) -> fast regeneration.
And Final of WS he ended in about 90'.
@@woibdoubs1011Really? I hope you didn't place any bets on that 😂
@@woibdoubs1011😂
Baez is a insane tennis player for his heightb
Baez is a beast! Very impressive improvement on hard courts recently. Congrats man!
Great to see Baez doing well on hard courts too.Congratulations.
Add Baez to the Rodgers Cup! Team World Could Use His Confidence and Swagger!
Baez is a small unit...but a very powerful one...fabulous player.
Congrats Baez, inspiring tennis! Shorter players can win big!!
Por fin Sebas un título en dura merecido.
jajajajaa no mostraban los resúmenes de Báez, pero Báez era el campeón! Ya saben para la próxima vez quien es el importante. 😉
Baez is a little monster on clay but I had never thought i would see him winning a title on hard court. He proved many like me wrong. Well played 🏆
Cause his opponent allowed him. Korda would snock off him like candle but injured
@@janjacko1079Korda is always "injured"or has a bad day. He is very talented but mentally he is a weakling.
@@janjacko1079korda would beat a lot of top 20 players an top 10 too on hard court so this's not the point. Baez still defeated lehecka, coric, galan and hanfmann so he's improved a lot on hard court.
Baez, the new 250 King. 2nd round USO exit, here we come.
First round he’ll lose to Coric
A 250 field without much of the top 20 players is easier to win than a grand slam when everyone is trying to play on another level.
😂😂😂😂 so true
Just like Schwartzman (correct spelling?😂), but just like him Baez is gonna be another loss again, broken broken, and yeah
Bet you all are top 50 also
3:21 That's a hell of a serve for someone only 1.70m tall. Actually, he has a decent serving game all-round.
Super merecido! X + logros! Pequeño gigante!
Congratulations Sebastian 👏🏆🎉🎊
Grande Baez. Un jugador rocoso, fuerte fisicamente y más aún mentalmente. Enhorabuena por otro titulo.
Además parece muy simpático.
Good on Tennis TV for no longer spoiling the match by putting the winner in the thumbnail
But then you'd just think that the opponent of the player in the thumbnail won instead...
Заслужил как никто другой 🎉❤
Grande Sebastián!!
Sebita Baez 👑🇦🇷
Nice haircut, that helps playing better tennis😢. Congrats Baez, you made small guy like me proud, and gain more confident.
As i remember Baez had 28% on hard courts and all of a sudden he wins a title
Lehecka plays just like berdych
Freeez like Berdych 🥶
For the technique or for the guts?😅
For the technique or for the guts?😅
Yes soon he will also choke like Berdych in big matches!!!Total pathetic performance today!!!
Extraordinario triunfo de Baez... Hacía demasiado tiempo que no veía un argentino campeón... Felicidades!!...
So the thing that really stood out for me: over 40 years of watching tennis, and this is the first time I can think of that two players wearing Le Coq Sportif matched up in a final.
If not probably the only ones on tour who wear that brand lol
Gasquet also wears it too..
@@kevingilhooley2064Not a lot of recent finals for the world's prettiest backhand though.
@@HeavyTopspin Yes that's true, but he is playing really well at the moment.....and that backhand is just perfection.
Baes is like a mustang in his full power at this game.
Lehecka seems to be overwhelmed by him.
Baez, the south american wall🎉
He points to become a serial atp winner with 22 years and 4 atp titles. Good for Argentina. Could he also attempt to the top ten?
Grande sebaaaa!!❤❤🎉
Since i was smoking W , i thought it is normal to see Lehecka serving and the board shows Baez serving , after 3 hours i replayed the video and realized that i wasn't high enough 😢
Surprising result, Baez played extremely well and outmuscled Lehecka in this match.
Baez is so talented. His height isnt even a factor because his game is so well rounded, his serve is actually effective not just rolled in and at 5’7 thts a huge help to have
Que grande baez!!!! Felicitaciones
🙏 An inspiration to everyone.
congrats Baez! 🎉
Baez's far positioning and round balls controlled lehecka's groundstrokes..his ability to defend much better made the difference.
I guess this surface was not that quick.
There are barely quick hard courts surfaces on atp tour now.. only indoor courts can be considered quick.
He has a pretty decent served too notching 120 mph in one instance. That’s not what you usually see from shorter guys like Schwartzman or Nishioka who get attack all the time on their serves.
Hard to not have a "Baez" when watching this match. So much consistent firepower for somebody at that height. Not a huge feel player which is odd considering the other people who are around his height and how they have to win matches (Dan Evans, Hugo Gaston). The future still holds something for short tennis pros!
Nice pun lol
Two titles in a row! 🙌 Testify! Go Baez!
If lehecka plays like this in the first round of the us open that will be it for him
Muy merecido triunfo. Un luchador y guerrero Báez. Ojalá se motive y siga mejorando.
Baez smile looks like he is about to crap his pants 😂. But kudos to him!
What went wrong with Jiri ? He started so very good !
Probably nervous, it's his first final
You should put both players pictures on the thumbnails, Congrats Seba!!!!
In the awards ceremony Baez must have been thinking now that I'm playing my best why this tournament had to be stuck to a GS, this people wanna see us out in R1.
Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉baez
Lahecka is blowing out his chances left right and center. With the big game that he has, it's very very surprising he blew this match and that too in this fashion
Qué grande, gf champ!
Baez won the tournament in the semifinals against Ćorić. A fast-running shorty capable of returning a whole day without a toilet break.
wow.. impressive! i picked lehecka...well done, papi..
i like him. he is hard working and works with the tools he has. he just needs to perform better at big Stages and believe in himself to do well in those situations.
What are Baez's strengths? I know he's small but he serves very fast.
He once served 130mph ace in Cordoba. He can push it higher than his average speed on 1st serve (105mph) but only at certain moments. He doesn’t want to reduce percentage over power
Speed/quick recovery due to his size, considerable power due to his low center of gravity and balance , very good technique.
@@wierdwabbittI'm watching him play mendevev rn he's forehand speed is impressive for his height if he literally was 5'9 he could compete for major
best seb on tour
Seems Lecheka was struggling physically. Eithier an injury or just generally feeling crappy. I imagine the heat and humidity was pretty bad there as well.
I Told! I Told! Sebastian Baez Champion! Wonderful Shot and Tackles and Wonderful Battle! Congartulations For Argentinan! 🎉🎉 How To Positon For Baez?
32
3:31. I have never seen anyone celebrate an ace that early in a match before lol
nice trick from tennis tv putting lehecka as thumbnail, thinking he won:)
Baez exposed Leheckas rally tolerance like the rest of his bodies this tournament, exposed his lack of focus when up a break and Lehecka serve lackluster today as well 💀💀💀
Lecheka reminds me so much of Berdych
2 сета 2 камбэка Баез красава
looking forward to seeing him winning masters1000🎉🔥
Maybe Korda would've won this, if not for the US Open preparation that he believes he needs to advance to the 2nd week. Or, was he injured and needed time to recover?
Been watching/playing tennis for over 40 years. I'm sick to death of players flopping on their back and just sitting there after winning a match. Yes, I know it's not new, but it seems to be ever on the rise. It's really disrespectful to the opponent. The winner is basically saying to his opponent, "You can just stand there waiting at the net for me while I bask in my victory, or you can come over to my side of the court and congratulate me."
You will have _plenty_ of time to bask in your victory. Respect your opponent -- and respect that they feel like crap -- by doing a quick handshake and letting them go. Then if you wanna flop on the court and lie there, feel free to do it for as long as you want.
I like lehecka and baez yesss
That court makes a lot of noise !
😂😂😂
First set 5-4 you showed the 30-40 point twice, or out of sequence?
Belle victoire de baez👏👏👏🎾 bonne récupération a eux et rendez-vous à l u s open 😅
Vamos Baez! He'll win US OPEN now! Vamos!
He will lose in the first round
😂😂😂… he’s like +50,000 be serious now… lol
En el resumen parece que el campeón fue el otro.😂
Never seen baez without a hat
they both have incredibly floppy wrists on the fh, and baez very similar all round to to diego
Grande negrito!!! Vamos por mas carajo!!!
and Lehecka should be playing tomorrow night at US Open against Karatsev ???? sound too much kinda
I love how 9 out of 10 comments on Baez videos are about his height. I think maybe his rivals are distracted too about that, which players like Diego and him have already PROVED means almost nothing. Keep thinking is an issue at all as far as I'm concerned ;)
5:23 error again tennis tv.... was 0-40, now back to 0-30!!
Hey 5:20 - 5:23 back to the past?😅
Báez looks like Chester Bennington
They have the same outfits 😂
was lehecka injured at the end
Lehecka needs to work on return games. Awful returning under pressure on mediocre serves.
Lehecka looked to have burned out for this one. Unfortunate as this could have ended up different by 2nd set on.
Grande
Congrats to the little man. Is he the Diego Schwartzman 2.0 of this generation?
He is on a 6 matches winning streak now.
Baez has won his last 10 matches... back to back titles he won 5 matches in Kitzbuhel and 5 this week.
10 according to the commentator....
Omg! Please at least show the points in the correct order! (See 5:29, 0-30 is BEFORE 0-40!)
Ladies and gentlemen: the new Diego schwartzman
He is better than diego
Vamos Baez win 🏆 champion
He reminds me of another South American Carlos Moya this final could see upset US Open
Carlos is a Spaniard

With some help from Seb 😆
minuto 5:22 . 5-4 primer set ..sacando Baez del 15-40 pasan al 0-30 -----wtf
Is it just me or do some of these points look sped up?
Baez is New Diego
