Aww, Renee you are such a good dog Mom! Glad you have figured out why Pollux tears the stuffings out of his toys. He is such a sweet boy and he couldn’t have found a better family to love him.❤ Have a wonderful blessed Easter!🐇🐥

Pollux looks so much happier now than he did when you first adopted him. He's so much less frightened now. It does my heart good to see him having such a happy life, thanks to you and Randy. I think you're theory of why he tears up his toys is pretty accurate, too. Chewing is one way dogs calm themselves.

Ms. R...first so glad to see you looking so well! As for POLLUX- very familiar as my rescues do the EXACT same thing - NO stuffed toy will make it past these two and the toybox is overflowing with "skeletons". They know the weakest point and shake the stuffing all over with the maid (ME) forever picking up pieces of fluff, and just like POLLUX eat none of it. BUT the BEST part of this Vlog is seeing how amazing POLLUX looks since becoming part of the Hayden household. On Rescue Day his coat looked so rough, his eyes so sad and NOW well he is one beautiful and happy pup. Thank you Renee for a great Vlog!

It’s interesting you discovered that because I have noticed that the only time my dog really chews up his toys is when I am busy and not giving him direct attention. It makes me so sad to think of Pollux’s life in the shelter for so long. I have always rescued dogs, but mostly from other people and circumstances that made them need to rehouse them. But one Rat Terrior was rescued from the shelter. Pollux is so blessed. That you found him and made him a member of your family.

I love Maxxi and Pollux. I have a soft spot for Pollux because of his background. You guys are the best thing that ever could have happened to him. He’s not just a dog but a true member of the family. That’s how all dogs should be treated. My two girls are rescues too. Maddie in particular loves soft stuffed toys. She attacks the appendages or body parts that stick out and gnaws them off. Then she pulls out the stuffing and the squeaker. Thankfully she never ingests anything. She goes into a trance like Pollux does at 13:06 - this is the self-soothing mode. When my husband or I come home, Maddie will greet us at the door along with Zoe, then Maddie runs off to fetch a toy to present to us. She never greets us at the door with a toy already in mouth…she checks out who it is first, then races off to get a toy. She is particular and searches for the perfect toy. Sometimes it takes her a while to return. I find this so endearing. I need to pay attention to who gets the better toys, me or my husband. LOL! Zoe will also gnaw on toys occasionally and pull out the stuffing but her favorite thing is licking them. She is an anxious girl and licking is her soothing mechanism.

Oh that's funny! Pollux will sometimes grab a toy when I get home and take it to the back door. He always wants to take his toys outside...and he does this to me and not Randy. I used to adopt boxers from rescue and they taught me how to train dogs to not have food aggression by making the dog sit and wait until I placed the bowl down and gave the okay. To this day (with our last surviving lab) my husband is amazed how she sits and waits for me to put her food down and give permission (although she was never a problem I just made a habit of it along with "go on your bed" when they would get under my feet!) It is a simple trick that takes away a bit of their dominance. Not sure it will work on Moo but worth a try? Renee, I can't believe your mother doesn't like your natural hair color(s) - it just keeps getting prettier and you look so youthful and healthy! Once I realized that she did this, I stopped buying her expensive dog toys, I buy her cheaper ones and let her enjoy her playtime destroying and licking her “kill”. I also make sure that any toy I buy her has no plastic, only embroidered eyes, mouth etc….( for choking purposes) We also adopted her from a shelter, she was only there for a day before we adopted her. I give her a new toy once a week after her bath…and She does it all over again.🤣. We have had her for 9 years and She is the best girl.🐾♥️

Probably because we keep his bed in the family room where we gather. If he naps with me or sleeps in his kennel with Henry he doesn’t destroy those. Thank God! 😂 Yes, he and Henry, (other smaller Beagle), sleep in an oversized kennel, because they both will pitch a fit if separated. Glorious doggie chaos! ❤️❤️❤️

My little Beagle-16lbs-came from an Amish puppymill where she was the mother. They released her to a shelter where I adopted her about 3yrs ago. She basically ‘clings’to me. Find out from other people who adopted puppymill dogs theirs also ‘clings’ to them. I sometimes would find torn up items when I returned home. Separation anxiety said the vet. 2 times she took large cardboard boxes waiting to be thrown out from the dining room where I left them thru the long kitchen to the back door where she tore them into tiny to large pieces. With one shredded box, I could barely open the door. Took me a day or 2 to realize she must have been angry to drag a box larger than herself to tear it apart at the back door. So now I cute either boxes or spread open cereal boxes and leave them at the back door for her when I leave. It works. I just pick up the pieces and toss them away.
The vet said at 3 yrs, it’s her way to show you she wants to be with you etc. Ok. If that’s the worse… I love my Beagle to pieces. She is so sweet and loving. She absolutely dislikes me on the cell phone. Ok. Tit for Tate. Cell for boxes. Fair enough. I ain’t complaining

Mine dies the exact same thing in the same circumstances. Never chews anything apart except stuff he knows is his and it's always when he's pretty happy. If he's unhappy he tends to just go to sleep.

Dogs are the best. I had a schnauzer that recently passed away she was 14 but her hearing went bad and the vet said that was common in schnauzers. Anyways just what I was told. She was so good at being hard of hearing that we didn't even notice till it was almost completely gone. I believe your Maxi is a schnauzer so I'm just passing on what I heard. I don't even know if its preventable just something to maybe keep in mind. Prior to our experience we had never heard that before.. We had 14 wonderful years but their lives are never really long enough.

It's funny my dog, Mydas, who looks just like Pollux even down to the curled up tail, does the same thing. he is a rescue that I got when he was just 9 months old. He will be 3 yrs. old in Sept. He tears up all of his toys just like Pollux and he trys to tear up his bed in the living room which is right by the pellet stove. Sometimes he will grab his bed and take it into the bedroom. The only weird thing is that he is very picky with dog food though. I have tried numerous brands. What brand of food does Pollux like? i have been watching your channel ever since you got Pollux and it was just so amazing how the both look the same.

My dogs eat Holistic Select Lamb and Rice meal. Pollux is not a food-driven dog. He's very picky about food and really doesn't care about it at all. Maybe you could try boiling some chicken for Mydas and putting some into his food. My guys LOVE boiled chicken!

@@WelcomeToMyCurls Funny you should mention that. I already mix in some chicken to get him to eat lol. something else I have found is sardines in soybean oil.
Mydas loves them and that was recommended by his vet because it is good for his coat. Thanks for replying.

My GSD has ALWAYS SHREDDED his toys! It's a HUNTING INSTINCT! I give him card board boxes & things he can destroy. In the wild he would rip his prey apart then eat it. Since it's not eatable he just shreds it. He has NEVER been in a shelter.

The Kong brand sticks works wonders. My dog was the same with stuffed toys got those and within a month he started grabbing the sticks to chew hard and the stuffed for fun squeakers. Less toys being destroyed

I THINK THE MYSTERY IS SOLVED ABOUT POLLUX. MY GIRL WON'T TEAR HER TOYS, BUT LOVES THEM. IT IS THE FIRST DOG THAT I EVER HAD WHERE THEY DON'T DESTROY THEM.

My boy does the same thing except he swallows pieces so he can’t have soft toys, not even the heavy duty ones! He does have toys that he loves but only certain types. He is a little spitfire and gets super excited! Ripley loves Henrietta, but he killed her in less than 2 minutes 😂 I love my boy and your boys too!

Oh Henrietta!!!!! That's too funny! Pollux doesn't tear up any of the rubber toys...just the soft ones. And he spits the fuzz everywhere! Seems like I clean it up all day long....it never ends!

Walk him or run with him, help him relieve some of his anxiety, I do that to my dog and he comes home feeling so calmed after a good walk or run ...

I walk Pollux every day if possible. And he has full run of the backyard. This doesn't change how he treats his toys.
