You're work is exceptional. I admire the great care you take with your properties. And you are both entertaining, educational, and enjoyable. How alliterative! :0. Love from, Texas
You are the highlight of my Tuesdays! Thanks for the entertainment and inspiration. (If you can do all this work on your properties, I can at least...frame a picture?) Also, Dean, always put on your seat belt *before* you start your car in motion. Safety first!😄
We used to have an open fire. We would take turns going to the coal shed. I hated it, was frightened of spiders 🕷️ and that was just one fireplace. Imagine having to do this with 20 fireplaces !
I think you guys are doing an incredible job on this old property, I have been renovating my French property with my wife for the last 11 years and its still not finished! I do have to say though, the putty on that bedroom window would annoy the hell out of me, it needs trimming back some more... 🙂
Perfection again. Love that you leave the patination on the original structural timbers and bricks and that you aren’t patching them within an inch of their life (😂😂😂). Amazing.
My reno guy found a smoke detector that is fitted into the ceiling so it’s flush with the ceiling - amazing! I’m sure Australia isn’t the only country that has them. Love your colour choices and Borja’s dancing 🕺🦘
Watching your videos you go thru an array of emotions from laughter, total awe of the work you both do, 🤮 when you hear about the sewage pipe bursting ( personally I would have been there with a bottle of booze for you too rinse your mouth with and then to drink) and huge smiles. You are inspiring and a joy to watch.
You two are adorable. You work so hard and are so passionate about renovating, I sometimes worry you work too hard. Remember to stop and smell the coffee every now and then 🦋
The story about the letter, that’s remind me of the novel in French Le plancher de Johacim. About renovating a chateau in south of French the owners found under the wooden floor the story of the wood carpenter and the village written underneath from the late medieval time I think. Great book. A true story also.
What about putting in some dehumifiers in the house...you may want/need to add a fan or two but that should make a difference. It wouldn't hurt to try it out anyway. 🎉
The cottage is absolutely stunning, your attention to detail really stands out. The raised bath idea is genius and looks so good. The new fireplace looks fantastic. I paint a lot of furniture with glass and always paint onto the glass and scrape but I spray the glass with a little water or glass cleaner and use a razor blade. Just score round the edge first then it comes off in long strips really easily 😀 Smoke alarms and the like drive me mad , you can get black but that’s not much better 🤦♀️
Oh how interesting! We will try with water next time thanks! Yes I know, we will be rich if we brought out paintable smoke detectors… there’s definitely a market!
You should install a PIV unit to help fight condensation and mould. I’ve only just stumbled upon your series so binge watching. As a joiner and builder I’m really enjoying seeing what you guys are doing. Keep it up!
As usual guys, a great update to your beautiful estate… Borja, please wear a mask and or face protection when spraying acid.. you could ruin that wonderful 80’s look 😉. See you both next week xxx
Could you wrap the letter in acid free tissue paper, together with your letter maybe put in some things from the past and something from now, a time capsule in an airtight container. 😊
The bedroom looks great and spacious, that chandelier seems to be born for it and the terracotta tiles look gorgeous! The fireplaces are so big that you could bake loafs in them :-) Maybe backing is in the plans? Do you have one of those huge wood fired ovens that were so common back in the days?
I’m late to your channel. What has been done to all the various roofs? Were they the first things you tackled? What kind of shapes were they in? Thanks for all the great content; really enjoyed your journey.
Oh I'm just loving your YT channel guys! It was wonderful to see the room start to come together and the fireplace is incredible. I'm so looking forward to the next video. Thanks for making it long enough to really get invested in what you were doing this week.
Careful with the lavender spray. While most people have a peaceful night's sleep because of the lavender, it works the opposite for a few others. They have terrible nightmares and sleep paralysis!
Where do you get the decor and funiture. Do you even gave time to visit shops, carboots etc. I love your videos and even my partner who doesn't watch YT is hooked. He got inspired good thing no Estates for sale around here. 😅
Haha aww well we look on auction houses a lot… it’s a weekly job just checking to see what nice things there are … it takes us months to find the right things
better to not put the old letter in plastic, wrap it in acid free tissue paper and then an acid free cardboard envelope. have to admit - it's been a while i followed a paper conservation class at uni, so perhaps double check with someone more specialised in this matter 🙂
I wonder what I am I love the stuff no one cares about, infrastructure is so interesting, as an architect do you care about that stuff? I am wondering if I missed a calling?
YOU need to creat a nice smoke detector. You're both very creative. Design one or a few different designs, hire an engineer and make proto types. Just remember to get them design copyrighted . You Can Do It 👍
@mytinyestate Yes, then you can hire all the trades people to finish the renovations, while you sit back , play with Danteo and plan the " icing on the cake" design/dressing part of each room. ❤
Great job with the fireplace brick and terracotta! It's looking gorgeous :) (And I'm waiting for Borja to release his own version of a Jane Fonda 80s workout video after his headband hehe! Love it!) 🪻🌻🌷🏵️ (how is there not a daffodil emoji!)
You're work is exceptional. I admire the great care you take with your properties. And you are both entertaining, educational, and enjoyable. How alliterative! :0. Love from, Texas
I agree totally with you. From Austin❤️
You are too kind thank you for those lovely words 🥰🥰😁
😘
You’re doing an amazing job well done 👍
Aww thank you x
Love the fireplace. It’s gorgeous. So happy you rediscovered it.💕
Yay thanks ! I know it was quite the gem!
Absolutely love the Caretakers Cottage! Your eye(s) for detail is/are amazing. Well done both of you. Also 10/10 for this video.
Ahh thank you, you are too kind 🥰
Look forward to my Tuesday fix. This was a good Tuesday.
Ahh glad you liked it!
You are the highlight of my Tuesdays! Thanks for the entertainment and inspiration. (If you can do all this work on your properties, I can at least...frame a picture?) Also, Dean, always put on your seat belt *before* you start your car in motion. Safety first!😄
Ahh that’s so lovely thank you! And thanks for thinking of our safety 😘😘
His Spanish /English accent is beautiful!!
Never heard that before !
🥰
I can’t understand why anyone would want to cover a fireplace. They are such a beautiful feature to the room! All those tall ceilings too 😍
Aren’t they just ! They are the focal point of a room!
@@mytinyestateit’s also a good thing that you did open it. Otherwise you would have discovered the leaking too late …
I think some people cover unused fireplaces in an effort to hold heat in the room. I imagine fireplaces that old do not have dampers.
Most likely either heating, loss of heat, un-safe to use and couldn't afford repairs.
@@cgp1442 I agree. Sometimes property owners base decisions on cost rather than history or ambiance.
Obsessed with that tub skirt with legs!!! Here in Canada I do not seal my marble, we are supposed to but mine looks fine :)
It was such a simple idea all the credit goes to Dean with that one… yes sealing just seems weird 🤷🏽♂️😂
I could listen to Borja say "filthy" all day long.
hahahaha honestly sometimes his accent makes a word sound better !
Love, love, love the Terra cotta tiles. Borja is so patient. That’s why your results are so beautiful.
Ahh thanks ! Yes Borja is super patient !
Gorgeous design and so patient for such a mammoth project ❤ love how authentic you guys are 🎉
Aww thank you so much ☺️
Ross und ich wir lieben euch ❤❤, großartig, bitte macht mit diesem Elan und Passion weiter so ❤❤, alles liebe von der Mosel ❤❤
Thank you so much 🥰🥰🥰
Amazing energy and attention to detail!
Thank you! Cheers!
You have quickly become one of my top RUclips channels. Just love your creativity and aesthetic.
Awww yay thanks 🥰
We used to have an open fire. We would take turns going to the coal shed.
I hated it, was frightened of spiders 🕷️ and that was just one fireplace. Imagine having to do this with 20 fireplaces !
I know ! A full time job right!
Loving the long format videos guys! ❤❤
Thank you so much ☺️☺️
What talented people and a beautiful couple! Thank you for sharing, I could watch you two transform that stunning property for days
Thanks you! Glad that you do as well have many more to do 😅
Love your video's!! Such beautiful work! Well done
Ahh thank you x
Great work! Remember measure twice cut once...unless on Grindr then measure three times....😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
I think you guys are doing an incredible job on this old property, I have been renovating my French property with my wife for the last 11 years and its still not finished! I do have to say though, the putty on that bedroom window would annoy the hell out of me, it needs trimming back some more... 🙂
Thanks! If you are ever around the uk pop in and you can teach us the putty skills 😜
So beautyful! Greetings from cologne Andy
Many thanks!
I loved your HGTV show and can’t believe it wasn’t renewed. I am so glad you started a RUclips channel so I can continue to watch your progress.
Thank you so much! 😊
Perfection again. Love that you leave the patination on the original structural timbers and bricks and that you aren’t patching them within an inch of their life (😂😂😂). Amazing.
Sometimes you just have to accept their damage .. it’s part of the story… also side benefit it’s one less job 😂
My reno guy found a smoke detector that is fitted into the ceiling so it’s flush with the ceiling - amazing! I’m sure Australia isn’t the only country that has them. Love your colour choices and Borja’s dancing 🕺🦘
Wow that’s game changing! I am going to get googling it now thanks
Love this adventure you’re on, so inspirational

I do enjoy you two, and what you do; well done and simple!😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Hola, que tal? Felicidades desde USA por el gran trabajo. Soy de Barcelona pero vivo en Illinois.
Un abrazo!!

Hola Merche!
Muchísimas gracias! 🩵💙
I love the lamps in the bedroom. So different.
Ahh thanks 🥰
You two are adorable. You work so hard and are so passionate about renovating, I sometimes worry you work too hard. Remember to stop and smell the coffee every now and then 🦋
Thank you! We are certainly going to be slowing down very soon ☺️☺️
Guys use a BRUSH, to reduce the vacuuming areas!!!❤
Thanks for the tip! ☺️
Put vaseline around the edge of the glass panes before you paint the trim. Much easier to scrape off the splashed paint.
Oh that’s a good tip

Ahh wow how special 🥰🥰
Both of you are so cute ! Love your video. Sacha (French interior designer)
Thank you so much!
What about putting in some dehumifiers in the house...you may want/need to add a fan or two but that should make a difference. It wouldn't hurt to try it out anyway. 🎉
Yes that’s a good point!
Fabulous - love your explanations about how and why you're doing something a particular way. So informative and inspirational - thank you XX
Thats amazing to hear 🥹😀
Have you tried the film you paint onto the window glass that then is peeled off after you paint the window trim??
We haven’t , we have heard a lot about it… seems too good to be true 😆
The cottage is absolutely stunning, your attention to detail really stands out. The raised bath idea is genius and looks so good. The new fireplace looks fantastic.

Wow you guys do awesome work and the fireplace is beautiful!❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much!
Just found your channel and loving it.I need to go back and check out your previous videos. I love that cute dance. The two of you do fantastic work.
Thanks so much! Hope you enjoy the episodes 🥰😁
80's lesbian made me spit my coffee laughing 🤣🤣 the room looks amazing.. love ❤️
😂😂😂
As usual guys, a great update to your beautiful estate… Borja, please wear a mask and or face protection when spraying acid.. you could ruin that wonderful 80’s look 😉. See you both next week xxx
Haha that is very true… funnily enough we made sure my mum was wearing all the protection when she helped us out … we forget about us 🤦🏽♂️
Could you wrap the letter in acid free tissue paper, together with your letter maybe put in some things from the past and something from now, a time capsule in an airtight container. 😊
Fab tip! ☺️☺️
The bricks look amazing many blessings from North Texas ❤
Thank you!
We got a chance to stay in that cottage and it was wonderful. A plus was to visit the amazing property with Borga.
🥰😁😁🥰
Great vlog!
Thanks for watching ☺️
The bedroom looks great and spacious, that chandelier seems to be born for it and the terracotta tiles look gorgeous!
The fireplaces are so big that you could bake loafs in them :-) Maybe backing is in the plans? Do you have one of those huge wood fired ovens that were so common back in the days?
We do have one of those in the main estate … yes it’s huge isn’t it… seems excessive for a room that was always a bedroom 😆
Time to sit down and get my inspiration from these two great looking guys.
Súper star! Thanksss
In New England (US), fireplaces were often closed when they installed stoves, which were much more efficient for heating.
Awww yes the big downside with these big chimneys is heat loss !
So real Borja! Thanks for sharing!😘🥰😍
❤️❤️
Dennis from Dallas here again. Outstanding job y’all.
Thank you 🥰
Totally agree with a paintable smoke detector. You could try priming it with asp think from zinzzer, it allows you to paint on plastic.
We thought about that too! But apparently a smoke detector can’t be painted because might not be able to detect the fumes as effectively 🤷🏽♂️
I'm so happy you are continuing your adventure!
Ahh thank you!
I love, love, love this show.
Thank you for watching! ❤️
Marmer is een vocht doorlatende steensoort.Als je rode wijn knoeit op marmer dan kun je dat niet schoonmaken omdat de wijn in het gesteente trekt.
Great job all around guys. Love everything you did to this room ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much!!☺️☺️
Everything looks amazing ... cant wait to plan a trip across the pond and stay there !!
Thanks so much! 🤗
I’m late to your channel. What has been done to all the various roofs? Were they the first things you tackled? What kind of shapes were they in? Thanks for all the great content; really enjoyed your journey.
Luckily all but one was in good condition … that was a rule we set when buying the roof would of cost a fortune if we had to redo them all
Oh I'm just loving your YT channel guys! It was wonderful to see the room start to come together and the fireplace is incredible. I'm so looking forward to the next video. Thanks for making it long enough to really get invested in what you were doing this week.
Ahh so glad you enjoyed it, thanks so much x
Careful with the lavender spray. While most people have a peaceful night's sleep because of the lavender, it works the opposite for a few others. They have terrible nightmares and sleep paralysis!
Oh wow really that’s so interesting I never knew that
love, love , love this channel so much! keep up the absolutely amazing work guys!
Ahh thanks so much 🥰😁
Borja maybe the marble is already sealed when you buy it in Spain. I live in Menorca and my kitchen work tops arent sealed.... 🤷
Ahh maybe! Maybe they do something in the factory
Hi guys we are new to your Chanel, love it so far. Please wear a mask when you do work that creates dust as not good for your Lungs. Thankyou 😊😊
Thank you!! We have been more conscious of mask wearing, but definitely a priority
Aunt Edith might have been the most favorite instead of the third if she written a letter to each Annie and Dickie.😃
Very very true 😂😂😂
Nicely done. ❤
Thank you! 😊
It's looking beautiful! Your work reminds me of work I did to my old house in Hingham (Massachusetts). Congrats.
Ahh thank you ! It’s quite the task isn’t it
@@mytinyestate you are doing a beautiful job.
OMG I Love this channel ❤
You guys are so cute together.
Aww thank you 🥰

In deans face haha … unfortunately we missed recording it!

Really loving that colour and the 80's lesbian
Hahahahahahaha
The thumbnail is 😂😂
I know 😂
NOOOOO. Don't put Aunt Edith's letter in plastic!!! Speak to your local librarian or archivist. They will recommend appropriate storage methods.
This is just a copy, I am sure we mentioned that 🤔
YOU need to creat a nice smoke detector. You're both very creative. Design one or a few different designs, hire an engineer and make proto types.
