Yep, Rottenbacher knew how to play like a boss. And if you could declare a winner, well, as messed up as it might be, he’s your man. Just imagine how much pain wearing such garb could cause to anyone in this day and time? Immense! And he doubled up in his defense and came out alive. First time I heard this it really blew my mind and it’s still just as good this time. Better with our esteemed Dr Creepen doing it. So a huge thanks to the author and to Dr Creepen for bringing this one to us in his style. A game that I do not think I’ll play no matter what the payoff can be. 👏👏👏👏👏👏

I knew that the swastika was his protective item, not the cyllus. But why would he wear the cyllus?? I dont know.
The protective item is something that's supposed to cause suffering. He was smart enough to understand that a lot of people - especially other high school students that likely don't think ahead - may think it means direct _physical_ suffering. He wore it as a diversion, in case someone tried to steal his protective item, hence why _that_ was what was demanded when held up.
After i realized the whole nazi thing was his protective thing i thought that the cyllus was his own way of punishing himself for hurting others because of him being/acting like a nazi

I am American. My grandfather gave me my first pistol when I was 8 years old. It was the 1911 he carried in world war 2. Now, the bullets? I didn’t get those until I was older. Age 13.
And even then, when I was given the gun, I had “the talk.” The rules of American gun culture, which begin with “every gun is always loaded.”

This story was set in the mid 2000s. Smartphones were very rare then. I suppose you could update it, though!

Classic story
I used to think this was a good story, about 12 years ago. Realized how terrible it really was a year or so after first reading it. The (I believe) unofficial prequel/sequel - "Alternate 21328" - is a much better story, written from Rottenbacher's point of view. Still enjoyed your narration of this, and I'd love if you could narrate "Alternate 21328"; a lot of narrators seem to have no problem narrating this but refuse to touch that one.
Alternate 21328 revealed a lot more details. But the first story was an outsider’s perspective, who didn’t know the same details.
@@generalesdeath5836Regardless of whose perspective it's from, I soured on this story far earlier than I found Alternate 21328. Pretty much the only thing the Cell Phone Game has going for it is the kicker about Rottenbacher at the very end of the story. Almost all the characters in the Cell Phone Game are either completely bone-headed or awful people, and Alternate 21328 isn't needed to see that, but it does help drive the point home.
