    These always seem to take absolutely ages when I stick one of these in the oven. And then after about 45/50 minutes it all gets stuck to the tray when it comes to dishing it up! However; this looked pretty good (better!) for just 20 minutes in the old air fryer - think I'll try one in there instead and cross my fingers for better results! 👍 🤞

    I do find this item is not quiet as good value as you think. I got one and it took ages to cook, stuck to the tray. did not rise.
    far easier to just get a pack of YP for 46p for 15 and a bag of sausages
    you are really cooking from scratch. so you may as well just make your own YP mix. and the sausages will be the cheap ones like you can buy for 15 for £1.50.
    does the instructions say turn over to cook the bottom. i bet it did not. so to get the base cooked you have to burn the top.

    • @fatandy
      @fatandy  8 месяцев назад

      It didn’t say anything about turning it over, I did if not the bottom would not have been cooked 👍🏻

    I know it was only a pound but for the cost of having the oven on i would rather make a homemade one just like what you did and while the oven was on do some roast potatoes and root vegetables and have it with mash and gravy 👍👍

    Speaking of gravy, have you compared Aldi's onion Quixo gravy with Bisto? Aldi's is much cheaper, gets thicker quicker and tastier!

    I recently tried Iceland curry chips for £1 but didn’t really like them BUT I did also buy mayflower curry sauce powder from Iceland. I recommend it as it’s bloody lovely. It’s only about £1.39 for a big container. Makes for a great snack or meal. Only problem is, I’m a bit addicted to it and when I have some, end up eating curry chips about 5 times a week 😭

    I wouldn't have thought of this if I hadn't watched you make that toad in the hole, but what they should do is tell people to remove the toad in the hole from that foil tray, pre heated the foil tray with a splash of oil in it then put the toad in the hole back in and cook it like you would a regular Yorkshire pudding, that would make sure the bottom is crispy too without taking it out after and turning it over

      Get yourself a halogen oven.. you know, the type that you stand on the kitchen worktop. They’re like a circular glass shape and they cost a fraction of electricity compared to your cooker oven and they’re a fair bit quicker at cooking stuff.
      I suppose you could defrost any frozen meals beforehand to cut the cooking time in half, which would also save you a few quid👍
