Personally I only buy games I intend to play so while my collection has gotten bigger over the years I don't intend to downsize my collection because they're all games I care about.
I am the same. Only buy games that I have an intrest in playing. My PS3 collection is really small because I didn't get one until that generation was done... well I guess that's not 100% true but is a boring story... So my main console that generation was the 360 and with most cross platform games running better on the 360, that's where the bulk of my games for that gen are. I have not counted but my PS3 'collection' has to be between 10 and 15 games (I just remembered they are on the computer desk at the mo, its 12). 3 of those being Uncharted and another 3 being Resistance. For what it's worth. I'm not finished picking up games for the PS3. As it stands its a great time to pick up PS3 games. You can get a lot of game for very little money.
@@PicksterTG Man, I'm doing the exactly same thing...! I'm Brazilian and live in Japan, here, PS3 and games are cheap, and I decided to collect the PS3 exclusives, because I spent my time last gen, buying and playing in the X360 and PC. Maybe I'm little more ambitious than you, because I'm getting almost all PS3 exclusives. I still prefere MS exclusives, but is nice to have most of exclusives for both platforms. My PS3 collection includes the 3 Resistance, the 3 Uncharted, the 3 Killzone (Killzone 1 was remastered for PS3), the God of War Collection (with Gow 1, 2, 3, Chain of Olimpus and Ghost of Sparta via download), Gow Ascension, Catherine, Heavy Rain, Beyond, The Last of Us, Motorstorm trilogy, Dragon's Crown, 3d dot game Heroes, and the list goes on (I'm buying remasterd collections too, I picked up the Team Ico collection).
same here. I don't even really like buying games that I'm not sure if I would enjoy or not. I make sure every game I buy is something I would see myself liking and even then I read reviews and such before buying. I just really don't want any dust collectors in my library of games and don't want to waste money either. I don't do retro as of right now I just collect for the Switch. it's tough spending upwards of $60-$70 on a single game, so I'm very careful with my choices.
@@PicksterTG Same! I got my PS3 very late and have about 10 games for it. I'm glad I've held onto them because while I'd love to play some of those games on the PS4, classes sure ain't cheap but the games on PS3 were a steal. KH 1.5 and 2.5 were about $10 each for instance. I bought 10 games for under $100. Maybe someday I'll replay them on the PS4 but having more money left over is worth it.
Same here. I never buy games that I won't play. My collections are made up of games i owned before or games that I have played and liked. A lot of them are rare anyways but thats not why I bought or collected my games.
I completely understand where your coming from about 3 years ago I sold almost my entire collection. I said I’ll sell them and let someone else enjoy them. now my rule is if I don’t play it within a year it’s gone.
I think the bragging rights comes from saying "Yes, I have played all of these games in my collection", of "all these games mean something to me personally".
My take exactly. You're not going to get squat for selling off. If you like old games keep them, you'll come back. Maybe your kids will be curious one day.
what if you're like the youtuber "last gamer" though? LOL. that guy is wild...he had to build a new house (a mansion basically) to store his games......he has like 10-15 massive rooms that are all stocked up like videogame stores...and his own in-home arcade plaza with like 50~ machines in it. also has 5-8? full blown simulator setups. last I heard (a year ago) he had 50 thousand+ games and multiples of every console ever made pretty much. he has contacts at sega, nintendo, etc etc who help him obtain extremely rare games. he holds the record for the biggest videogame collection on earth and also the record for most expensive single game (some 1/2 game worth 1 million dollars and I believe the only other copy to exist was destroyed so it's basically a 1/1 game now) he seems like a good honest guy but he claims his main income is restoring then selling pinball machines...how do you get multi millions selling pinball machines....
I never have time to play 90% of my collection... I love looking at them on the walls but I've considered downsizing.. The risks and stress related to selling games is too high for me to bother... Plus I don't know if I'd be able to actually let things go. Great topic REGGIE! Love when you hit on things like this.
Wonderful video reggie. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment so i have to prioritize my collection. I sold my CIB sega CD and games because it took up a massive amount of shelf space. I also got rid of about 40 ps2 games. My motto is if i havent played a game in 6 months (or have no intent to ever replay it) then it gets traded.
6 months? What if you change your mind and get the time to play that game? I've had games sitting around for years then eventually got to play them and enjoy them. A CD and a manual takes up so little space, just throw away the plastic cases and keep the games in a storage case.
There's so many cool games to play - old and new ones - that selling the games you haven't played for half a year will probably never hurt you in the future.
It usually takes more than 6 months to find new found love on an old title so u should reconsider your plan man!!!! I got PS2 games that I just havn't got to yet that I've had for years, still plan on playing them but I'd have to get rid of heaps if that rule was in place. RETHINK YA LIFE!!!! :P kidding lol bad joke
@@JetWolfEX the sega cd has so many great games. Lunar, popful mal, space adventure, snatcher just to name a few. If you wanna play it i recommend just emulating it or waiting until the polymega comes out.
@@JetWolfEX the lunar sega cd ports are way different than ps1. Even the story was altered. I heard that snatcher was censored on saturn and konami did a good job with the english dub.
pizzamon 79 - MY TOO! 😆. I am forever collecting AND (eventually) playing through my humongous and ever growing collection of video games across dozens of home consoles and portable handhelds. AND I don’t regret it.
A little tip that helps me. I don't play a game rushed to get to something else. I play what I feel like when I want. Most games have save points so I save and move to something else when I have that itch. I will circle back around to that game at some point. That way it's always fresh and fun.
I've had to downsize the collection a couple of times in the past and always for "the greater good" when times got tough. Every single time I regretted it too. I absolutely do not have the time needed to get to the games we have, but I certainly have every intention after our daughter has grown and is taking care of herself and maybe when we're getting to the point where we don't feel the need to get out and about so much. I will say that though I don't get as much play time with the games as I'd like, we have an absolute blast with them being available when friends come over and get to revisit their pasts. I think there are absolute pros to downsizing a collection. And I think there's sometimes more to the story when it seems like somebody is just racking up shelf candy. Good share here Reggie!!
Such a good video Reggie. When I started collecting again about 2 years ago I wanted everything for any system. Now I’m focusing on collecting just what I really enjoy and will play. Finally realizing I don’t need complete collections of everything. Being a true gamer means playing the games you own, not just collecting them on a shelf.
Happy to hear that man. I've learned this lesson early on as child without a lot of games. My mom would tell me & my sister her budget for Xmas or our Birthday & took us shopping to pick out what we wanted exactly. It taught me to be more selective in games I was actually interested in & led me to pick games I deemed worthy of my time To this day I still have my Nintendo Wii Mario Party 4 Animal Crossing Super Smash Melee SSX Tricky Harry Potter Quidditch World Cup The non-lego Harry Potter 1-6 Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 Mario Party 8 ^ I've poured my entire childhood into these games - I had a few other games I didn't mention because I sold them off because they weren't worth keeping around To this day it's very hard for me to branch out of my comfort zone for video games, but they're all games I enjoy. Nintendo Switch Super Mario Party Super Smash Bros: Ultimate Animal Crossing: New Horizons Super Mario 3D All Stars Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 Pokemon: Let's Go Pika / Eve / BDSP / SW & SH Luigi's Mansion 3 - I've never got to play the original or dark moon Diablo 3 3DS Pokemon Yellow / HGSS / ORAS / XY / USM
I think the most interesting stuff comes at the end, when you say you want the Spider-Man game to be over since you've got so much other games to play. For me, when I think about my collection, there are feelings of pressure, guilt and a feeling of paralyzation from the overchoice.
This comment is me all over. Self inflicted stress when games are supposed to be entertainment, it should be a chill out zone not a situation of guilt.
Golf Story was surprisingly so much fun, I wouldnt call it a RPG as many people are calling it, but still a great little indie game I put 18 hours into the main story to beat.
Thanks Radical Reggie. Words of wisdom. I was feeling flustered myself so I started selling off my amiibo collection. I feel no regret. And soon my pops are next. They where taking up so much reality in my small room of doom.
Totally get where you are coming from. There is some stuff I want, because I simply want it in my collection, even if I wont play it much. There are others that I have which i will likely never play and will probably eventually get rid of to make room for things I do want, like that cool American McGee Alice figure you have in the background that I didn't know existed until this video!
It's bad advice to sell your games. Stick the discs in a storage case and throw away the plastic cases. The manuals and sleeves can be kept as they don't take up much room. If you can back them up digitally then do it. I've had games on my shelf for years before I got to play them, but it was worth keeping them.
think he's referring to people with >2000 games. i used to have 2000, downsized to 500, on 2 big shelves, very happy with it, cos they're the best games. no trash filler.
Do you ever feel like you have no time to play your games? And you can’t decide what to play because you don’t want whatever you choose to be a waste of your time?
People say I am crazy , on my Channel I'm trying to collect every PS3 Game , I'm at like 251 after a couple of months but I can already see I'm going to have issues picking up games that were exclusive to certain countries . SUBBED to your Channel, love your laid back approach
Best of luck my man. 251 is only a slight sent in that collection. My PS3 collection is massive and I have had fun with those region exclusive games. But yes, some were tough to get :D So like I said, best of luck
Thanks Reggie for this video what a great topic to discuss! I relate to this so much. I recently have been thinking about what to do with my collection and what I've decided to do is this year I'm not going to buy any new video games. I'm only going to play games from my back log. Thanks again Reggie!
Best way to downsize without regret is to sell them off slowly. If you want to sell a game, and a week later you still want to sell it, probably safe to let go without regrets. I put games I want to sell in a pile, and the next week I go through and remove any I changed my mind on. Just my thoughts
My thing is avoiding the NEED to collect everything. I tend to get hooked on a console and then buy, buy, buy and then a few months or a year later, I wonder why I bought a lot of this stuff. Also the space thing and moving around (like you mentioned in the video - stuff in totes, etc), its freeing in a way to trim the fat off the collection. It also helps to cut yourself loose from the whole limited print run stuff going on now (or at least be more selective with those titles coming out from the various boutique vendors) Lately I've drilled down to a couple of thematic collections: My ongoing hockey game collection spanning all consoles/regions and my PSVR collection. The only new console I buy regularly for otherwise is the Switch. I'm satisfied with that.
Heh, I hear you brother, but that SEGA CD offing was like a gut punch. 😢 Popful Mail is my shit. You've motivated me to appreciate it by actually playing it again. It's one of my prized titles. Great video, fam.
I did the same thing, almost teared up when I sent off Popful Mail - in retrospect, I should have kept just Popful Mail and sold the rest, with the Polymega around the corner I could have played it on that.
Another great Rad Reg video. I have many games (A ton of them are digital). I've never been patient enough to count my physical games. I just wish I had time to play more. As a working father that's a tall order though.
I hear you on this. I want to downsize my collection, sometimes drastically, but I worry I would regret some of my choices. So for now I'm looking for duplicates and fluff
So many of us have more games than we'll have time to play through in our lifetimes. It does become like an addiction. They say you can't take the with you when you die, but I'll damn sure try. Lol.
I couldn't imagine downsizing my collection. I'm only getting started. Though one thing that is for sure is that I know what I like and will not buy games just to have them. Most of the time lol
100% right. I’m the same way, I wanted to play a lot of games, but ended up with a collection. I downsized once but then ended up buying most of them back later on. No regrets.
At this time last year I was working on collecting the entire North American og Xbox library as well as collecting for other systems. All told I had close to 2500 games across multiple systems. Right now I own around 400 games total, and I am fine with that. Collecting for bragging rights is stupid, and that is what I was doing. I was spending money I did not have to crap up my life with shit I did not need, and one morning I woke up and was just...done. All games, for me, have to meet one condition for me to buy, and that is simply if I intend to play them. If so, I keep or buy, otherwise I don't. Life is about experiences, not the shit you own. I know nothing anyone owns impresses me, and I am sure that goes both ways. I salute you for downsizing, RR. I had friends hollering about how I'd regret giving up my stash, and they were dead wrong. No regrets at all. Buy to play, folks. Like Reggie says in so many words, if you are buying just to buy, you're in it for the wrong reason.
Great video man! I love collecting topic videos, it has seemed like there are less collecting videos on youtube lately so they are always welcome by me!
This is a very interesting topic that should be discussed more. Especially as us collectors are now more likely to be in our 30s or 40s versus our teens or 20s. We now have careers, families and responsibilities. Do we really need to have large collections now that we are hardly going to play any more?
Truth bro!!! Great advice Reggie! I need to get started on listing some stuff🤪👍 I’m to the point to where I probably have 10-15 games I haven’t opened yet. I want to play them but I have so much ahead of them that I haven’t finished😖 congrats on whatever ur celebrating man;)
I downsized from a massive amount of stuff that caused alot of anxiety to sell off... But looking back I have no regrets this past year. I switched to PC and alot of emulation. But I still kept alot of stuff I play and plan on passing down to my kid when he is old enough to enjoy...whatever he doesn't like he'll have my blessing to sell them. Approximately had 1500 or so games and consoles.... Now down to roughly 300games and a console for each category. Fits nicely on two shelves... Has a healthy feel and I am happy with what I kept. Plus it's easy to pack up ( if need be ). I invested alot of the profits and made a pretty good return this far for retirement purposes towards the future.
This has been on my mind for awhile. I didn't consider myself a collector at first because like you I just never got rid of any of my games that I had as a kid because I enjoyed what I had and i spent my own hard earned grass mowing money on. But once the actual collector bug bit me and i was actively and intentionally buying up games to just buy them since i was finding them for cheap at thrift stores and fleamarkets i ended up with a huge collection of stuff i'm not playing. So this past week I forced myself to go through my collection and pull A LOT of filler and other titles that I'm not going to play to sell towards games I actually want. A lot of this is just a vice we use to inflate our ego and boost our self esteem. Collecting is a slippery slope to hoarding. For myself personally I realized that I wasn't dealing with my depression and OCD and in result resorted to collecting to fill that bottomless hole. Anyways, like you said... It's not healthy having all this material stuff just sitting around collecting dust. Great video Reggie.
PogSlammer dude I don’t ever comment but this is totally me bro I’m glad to hear I’m not alone with such a similar story sorry I just felt compelled to say something hope all is well peace!
PogSlammer dude I don’t ever comment but this is totally me bro I’m glad to hear I’m not alone with such a similar story sorry I just felt compelled to say something hope all is well peace!
I hold on to a lot of games and leave them on the shelf kind of like photographs in a photo album. It's nice to see them there and reflect on the memory, but most of them I'll likely never replay. I just can't be bothered to start selling yet. Speaking of people getting tricked though, have you been paying attention to the value of Katamari Re-roll on switch? It only came out last month and it's already trending for almost 100 bucks. The game only released for 30. I'm anticipating gamestop will make another print within the next 3 months. Unfortunately.. they'll sell that print as "Used" so they can charge more for it now but.. whatever. Fools and their money are easily parted right? Best you can do is try to steer people right. Keep it radical dude!
When I moved from NC to TX 11yrs ago, I got rid of my Saturn, Dreamcast (US), Dreamcast (Japan Import), PS2, Xbox, along with all the games I had for each system and I regret it to this day I did that because it didn't really save much room on the move to not take them. Also, I wish I had the foresight when younger to hang onto my Atari 2600, Commodore 64, Amiga 500, Sega Genesis, PS1 and all those games. As new systems came along, I didn't keep those old systems. Big regret for me now.
I downsized my ps3 collection the most, just because of time to play any of them. Just too many other games had me more interested. Now I regret selling not all, but a good chunk of them. But the reality is I would need three more lives to be able to say I have played every game I own. So in retrospect it made me sad I did it, but it was the right decision. Love ur videos man!
I feel the same about my Pokemon Gameboy collection, but then again I already played the snot out of them as a kid & they just sat around collecting dust serving a nostalgic memory.
Downsized in 2012, sold all my NES/SNES games. I thought prices were getting high back then, it hurts to see what the games are worth now but I don't regret it.
I'm with you man. I got rid of NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, TG16 collections. Pretty much all of the cart based games. I went with everdrives and sticking to disc based games and systems.
I have regrets selling some games and getting rid of cases just to make room. I'm going to share with everyone that works for me. And that's taking out any CD game, X box, ps1, ps2, ps3, PC, and storing them in one of those CD binders that holds hundreds of CDs. Then I'll store the actual game cases away. Saves so much room. I'm trying to find an ultimate emulator machine so I can store away my old game systems. They are too bulky and too much wires and plugs lol. So far I'm ok with room. There are games I played like one time only. At the moment, I almost exclusively play skyrim and madden 15. I love skyrim because with every character I make, I give them a back story. I plan on writing a novel based on fantasy with elves orcs and all that. I play madden because I love the game of football. I make athletes for all teams, so not just my own team. Makes it way more interesting. Just wish I could create my own teams. With madden 12 I made all new 32 teams. But I don't like madden 12 but kept it for being the last one to make your own team. That's basically what I do. With working practically all day 6 days a week, I don't have much time to play games like I did when I was a kid. Game on my fellow gamers!
Great video Reggie a lot of people have video game collection and they never even beat 10% of the games they have me every game I play i try to beat it the latest game I beat was Castlevania for Sega Genesis and that was the first time I played that game It took a few days
People constantly buy buy buy if people just buy what they like be mindful of what you buy you won't have to worry about downsizing my collection has what I like simple and this just makes collecting easy quality over quantity it's not just a slogan.
I downsized my collection recently, all of the games i sold id finished and didn't enjoy enough to want to play again or games i didn't enjoy enough to bother finishing. Hopefully the people who brought them will enjoy them more than i did.
Since I live in an apartment, I can’t have shelves up to display games, consoles, boxes, etc. So about 2 years ago, I went emulation as my daily driver for playing. Basically I hook up my laptop to my TV via HDMI and play with anXB1 or PS4 Controller from the comfort of my couch.I still collect games, consoles, controllers, but instead of taking up a ton of space with shelves and stuff, I have them put away in containers and bins. Everything from Atari up to the Wii I play emulation. My whole thing with emulation though is that if I don’t own a physical copy or a digital copy, I won’t download the ROM. Reason being is that I don’t know how to rip games, and I want to keep my integrity, so I wait until I own the game before I download the ROM. One might say why? Well, it’s because I want to collect, but also play games all from one device. Some benefits to emulation is that it’s all in one place and you can play 3D games on some emulations in 4K @ 60FPS. You read that right. Check the Dolphin emulator. When you play games like Mario Kart Double Dash in 4K, looks like a frickin HD remaster. The same goes for all sorts of emulation. The emulation scene is amazing. One day if I get a game room similar to Metal Jesus, then I’ll put them all up on shelves and out for display. But for now, this is my solution.
What always gives me pause about downsizing is cost of replacement if you change your mind and want to play it again. It is definitely healthy to do some periodic "quality control" to weed out games you didn't end up liking, though.
Starting to downsize by selling anything that says "Square-Enix" and is not 2D. I've sold Lunar 1 and 2 three times, I've now owned them, yet again, for two years and I finally feel in a place I don't need money bad enough to (hopefully) ever sell them again; too many fond memories.
My problem is I can’t seem to stay focus on one game. I enjoy gaming but one thing is, I get overwhelmed with so many great titles I just always pick a new game up and start it fresh but never ever finish em why is that? Anyone has this same issue? I seem to play ALOT of battlefield 1 online but that’s it. All the single player games I just can’t finish I barely have anytime btw. I have 2 kids and a 10 1/2 hr job but that shouldn’t be the cause of me never finishing up a game any tips would be very appreciated thanks guys
I buy sealed. And if the game goes on mega sale, less than $5, I'll buy the digital instead of opening. But if it never is on sale, I'll open when ready to play. I won't just not open it if I'm ready to play, if that makes sense.
I enjoyed this. shows the real side of all these gaming RUclipsrs the only one i think actually plays all their games is Reggie but on the other hand people like John Hancock just wanna preserve the culture.
John Hancock has a very admirable plan to start a gaming museum. I would absolutely go see it with his complete collections. You can't start a museum without something amazing to display!
I feel you, I only collect games I know im gonna play. Im sure y'alls back list is crazy too. Couldn't ever finish anything because i have so many others to play. It is a little depressing
Hello Reggie, I'm a first time watcher, in 1994 when I was 10 years old my father gave me a Master System II for Christmas because most of my neighbors had one so I had to get one, in 2000 when I was still a student I managed to buy the original Playstation, I started saving for Resident Evil 2 and 3 (I never managed to find the 1st one) Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, Gran Turismo 2 and some other Games I don't remember because I sold them. In 2007 I bought the PS2 Slim, I had Splinter Cell Double Agent and some other Games and I loved them but when I bought the PS3 in 2011 I sold my PS2 with all the Games I had, in 2014 I bought my PS4 and sold my PS3 with almost of my Games but I kept Red Dead Redemptio, GTA IV and Episodes from Liberty City, conclusion: I regret it everyday but now a cousin of mine wants to give me his PS3 because he doesn't play anymore but I have to wait until Summer. :/ Right now I'm trying to collect as many Games as possible for PS4, I've learned my lesson, never, I mean, never sell Video Games even if I don't play them at least I will keep them for collection, sorry for my long comment.
the way i like to collect is if i am going to use it somehow. like if i want to make a random thing about it or play it. i just think it just happens after a certain point regardless what your collecting.
i love the philosophy that Reggie have. why hoard games and keep it sealed it? is so stupid, if you want to do business, go and try a real business and work for it, left the games to the players. Greetings from Chile!
Downsizing your backlog and collection of anything sucks. For me, I had to downsize my Gundam model kits on my eBay and also a *huge* majority of my game collection on eBay. I had SNES, PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP, and Vita. I've sold all my SNES stuff, PS1 stuff, PS2 stuff, PSP stuff, and now I have a few PS3 games and my Vita stuff on my eBay left along with a huge amount of my Gundam kits. I appreciate what I have with the PS4 and I plan on keeping it along with any PS5 stuff. Most of the games I care about are on the PS4 and in remastered/remake form so I don't mind that I ended up selling so much. It helps me overall because I have extra money and it's nice to free up space at home. Besides I barely have much free time anyway due to life and work, and my PS4 backlog is pretty crazy.
Dude, I feel you. Last year I sold off my Atari, NES, SNES, Sega, basically anything that was a cart. I backed up my roms and called it a day. I made so much room and if I get the urge to play those old games, I just play it via emulator and get my fix of it. My issue now is I've found myself collecting PS2 and Gamecube games after having sold off those collections years ago. I'm oddly feeling nostalgic for that era of gaming and it's been fun collecting but I'm already seeing them take up too much space again and I'm buying faster than I can play them.
The bottom line is to have fun. If you enjoy the hunting and collecting aspect, great. More fun than stamps or coins to me. If the collecting gets overwhelming, or you can’t find your kitchen anymore, it’s probably time to downsize.
On the other side Reggie, I dreamt once of a one big giant enormous warehouse, so I can put all my stuff in it. So nothing gets rid off, just I can add only. How about that?
Little by little I'm changing my mode. I mostly play stuff on Game Pass and backwards compatibility lately instead of endlessly adding to a backlog, and being overwhelmed by choice.
I'm personally really bad about buying games and never touching them, especially since I do most of my buying during sales so I end up buying in bulk. My backlog is probably about 45-50 games currently.
This video may have just saved me lol.I was A role with buying games.Let me hit the breaks.Playing tons of games I semi like and pushing away games I have no time for.Trying to find the best RPG game and A FPS I can really get into.So far I after all these decades of playing I am hooked on Skyrim VR and Titan fall 2.Those games seem to be the ones I always have time for.
I am doing the same. If I'm not playing them, then they go on ebay. I got rid of my Nes, Snes and CD32 as I was not playing them. I am now mostly playing Megadrive, N64, Ps1, 2, 3 & 4.
Hey Reggie, think I've mentioned it before the Happy console gamer did a review on the PS4 Fist of the north star and I've heard no one except him talk about that game. He says its an unreal game too. Its a totally new game too. Like its not the same PS3/360 release like redone for PS4, its a full new full game. Has action n adventure in it, looks amazing. Its something you'd like I reckon. Dunno if u have it but its on Ebay atm for $100 in Australia so I'm getting it ASAP but I reckon that'll be a game that will go up. So its probably a hidden gem too. Just thought I'd mention it cause I suprisingly havn't seen u showing it in any pick-up vids. Anyway, peace!

Some games (most games) you're just not going to get anything from selling them. Better off keeping them in good hands if they aren't worth much.
My take exactly. You're not going to get squat for selling off. If you like old games keep them, you'll come back. Maybe your kids will be curious one day.
I keep the cheap games I can't sell for replacement cases or throw ins when I sell game lots.
what if you're like the youtuber "last gamer" though? LOL. that guy is wild...he had to build a new house (a mansion basically) to store his games......he has like 10-15 massive rooms that are all stocked up like videogame stores...and his own in-home arcade plaza with like 50~ machines in it. also has 5-8? full blown simulator setups. last I heard (a year ago) he had 50 thousand+ games and multiples of every console ever made pretty much. he has contacts at sega, nintendo, etc etc who help him obtain extremely rare games. he holds the record for the biggest videogame collection on earth and also the record for most expensive single game (some 1/2 game worth 1 million dollars and I believe the only other copy to exist was destroyed so it's basically a 1/1 game now) he seems like a good honest guy but he claims his main income is restoring then selling pinball machines...how do you get multi millions selling pinball machines....
@@rageagainstthetoymachine2410 i hope he never has a house fire that would be the worst :P
That intro thooooo. Killin it Reggie always keep improving and they will come! Have a good week my dude
I never have time to play 90% of my collection... I love looking at them on the walls but I've considered downsizing.. The risks and stress related to selling games is too high for me to bother... Plus I don't know if I'd be able to actually let things go. Great topic REGGIE! Love when you hit on things like this.
Smash JT smash!
I'm upsizing my game collection.
pizzamon 79 - MY TOO! 😆.
I am forever collecting AND (eventually) playing through my humongous and ever growing collection of video games across dozens of home consoles and portable handhelds. AND I don’t regret it.
Me too dude! But my man, reggie have a huuuuuuge collection im not even close
I choose to selectively increase mine... never sold.. only passed off ones i feel are unplayable for me. Only a few ive tried and hated tbf.
It taught me to be more selective in games I was actually interested in & led me to pick games I deemed worthy of my time
To this day I still have my Nintendo Wii
Mario Party 4
Animal Crossing
Super Smash Melee
SSX Tricky
Harry Potter Quidditch World Cup
The non-lego Harry Potter 1-6
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3
Mario Party 8
^ I've poured my entire childhood into these games - I had a few other games I didn't mention because I sold them off because they weren't worth keeping around
To this day it's very hard for me to branch out of my comfort zone for video games, but they're all games I enjoy.
Nintendo Switch
Super Mario Party
Super Smash Bros: Ultimate
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Super Mario 3D All Stars
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2
Pokemon: Let's Go Pika / Eve / BDSP / SW & SH
Luigi's Mansion 3 - I've never got to play the original or dark moon
Diablo 3
3DS
Pokemon Yellow / HGSS / ORAS / XY / USM
I think the most interesting stuff comes at the end, when you say you want the Spider-Man game to be over since you've got so much other games to play. For me, when I think about my collection, there are feelings of pressure, guilt and a feeling of paralyzation from the overchoice.
This comment is me all over. Self inflicted stress when games are supposed to be entertainment, it should be a chill out zone not a situation of guilt.
Damn, bro! Nice intro!👍
I know right
Golf Story was surprisingly so much fun, I wouldnt call it a RPG as many people are calling it, but still a great little indie game I put 18 hours into the main story to beat.
Thanks Radical Reggie. Words of wisdom. I was feeling flustered myself so I started selling off my amiibo collection. I feel no regret. And soon my pops are next. They where taking up so much reality in my small room of doom.
Is it weird that I felt like the only one who thought the same way you do? Haha! I love the new intro by the way!
Love the new into, nice to see your channel grow and evolve
I've done this to my movies, it feels weird at first but its better in the long run. Tastes change over time.
I like your outlook on gaming dude, you just love gaming. The way you look at gaming is exactly how i feel. Stay radical dude!
This was the truth, we all have things we don't need. NIce Reggie!
Sometimes i look back and regret downsizing my collection.
It's bad advice to sell your games. Stick the discs in a storage case and throw away the plastic cases. The manuals and sleeves can be kept as they don't take up much room.
If you can back them up digitally then do it.
I've had games on my shelf for years before I got to play them, but it was worth keeping them.
That's what I do trash the case n keep the book n artwork
Same here.
think he's referring to people with >2000 games. i used to have 2000, downsized to 500, on 2 big shelves, very happy with it, cos they're the best games. no trash filler.
@Darth Wheezius sold some n64 too, wow 35-40 quid is a lot, that's like 400 kroner or 2,000 imperial banabari's
Do you ever feel like you have no time to play your games? And you can’t decide what to play because you don’t want whatever you choose to be a waste of your time?
So true man. I’ve downsized my collection significantly and I feel better for doing it.
People say I am crazy , on my Channel I'm trying to collect every PS3 Game , I'm at like 251 after a couple of months but I can already see I'm going to have issues picking up games that were exclusive to certain countries . SUBBED to your Channel, love your laid back approach
The PS3 is my favorite system of all time(specifically the OG 60gb)
Agreed
Best of luck my man. 251 is only a slight sent in that collection.
My PS3 collection is massive and I have had fun with those region exclusive games. But yes, some were tough to get :D
So like I said, best of luck
Thanks Reggie for this video what a great topic to discuss! I relate to this so much. I recently have been thinking about what to do with my collection and what I've decided to do is this year I'm not going to buy any new video games. I'm only going to play games from my back log. Thanks again Reggie!
Best way to downsize without regret is to sell them off slowly. If you want to sell a game, and a week later you still want to sell it, probably safe to let go without regrets. I put games I want to sell in a pile, and the next week I go through and remove any I changed my mind on. Just my thoughts
I love your new intro Reggie. I feel you I think of getting rid of some things too. But maybe once I get a house I will enjoy my collection more.
You make a very good point about downsizing on stuff you don't often play and collect dust for!
It also helps to cut yourself loose from the whole limited print run stuff going on now (or at least be more selective with those titles coming out from the various boutique vendors)
Lately I've drilled down to a couple of thematic collections: My ongoing hockey game collection spanning all consoles/regions and my PSVR collection. The only new console I buy regularly for otherwise is the Switch. I'm satisfied with that.
that intro is fantastic man!
Love the opening theme.
Suddenly, I need a hero.
Heh, I hear you brother, but that SEGA CD offing was like a gut punch. 😢
Popful Mail is my shit.
Lol.

I like the new opener. Keep up the great vids!
I agree, I used to get everything what I saw when I started out. Now my main focus is games I actually will play at some point!
Hello beautiful 🤩
I couldn't imagine downsizing my collection. I'm only getting started. Though one thing that is for sure is that I know what I like and will not buy games just to have them. Most of the time lol
Yeah dude i agree 10000 percent
Reg ur such a cool dude. I appreciate the way you enjoy your games and the passion for the good ones.
Great advice as always Reggie love your content from the UK 🇬🇧 👍 keep up the good work
If this is the new official intro Reggie, I like it
Great video reggie, just the video I was looking for !
I've got a small book shelf full of games. About 100. That's good enough for me.
Love the intro man, this is why I do mostly digital now lol
Thanks Reggie, makes me feel better for getting rid of one of my systems
I'm slowly downsizing game's myself save up for House. Just don't have free time to gaming like l did in highschool.
Subscribe as well
Intro's on point man good work!!! On a side note, time to start sending you games to counteract the downsize 😂😂
Crazy, I was thinking about this subject on my way to work this morning. I have a lot of stuff that I just don’t have time to play.
That outro song makes me think about I like them big I like them chunky chunky...lol 👍
Reggie, you need a Framemeister/OSSC & RGB cables for your game footage. Aleste II is looking rough there.
Congrats on your cool day Reggie! Hope it goes well.
I downsized a lot of my stuff.
Don't stress over it I struggle with that to but there's alot of games I feel like I can play and enjoy without necessarily having to beat them
I buy sealed.
Great video Reggie!❤ The game you were thinking of was Cubivore if I'm not mistaken.
Good advice, personally I keep my game collection concise to the point where each title should get equal love and attention.
Right now I'm trying to collect as many Games as possible for PS4, I've learned my lesson, never, I mean, never sell Video Games even if I don't play them at least I will keep them for collection, sorry for my long comment.
the way i like to collect is if i am going to use it somehow. like if i want to make a random thing about it or play it. i just think it just happens after a certain point regardless what your collecting.
You and Happy Console Gamer are some of the few gamers on RUclips I know for a fact play many of the games you have and collect for the right reason.
the new intro amazing ,,,plz continue ,,
i love the philosophy that Reggie have. why hoard games and keep it sealed it? is so stupid, if you want to do business, go and try a real business and work for it, left the games to the players.
Greetings from Chile!
Although buying and selling games IS a real business and so is collecting as an investment. Who better than gamers to have such a business?
Its good to share games like that, if people can sell the games then hopefully it goes to somebody who plays and enjoys them.
Good video im thinking about downsizing my 360 collection
The bottom line is to have fun. If you enjoy the hunting and collecting aspect, great. More fun than stamps or coins to me. If the collecting gets overwhelming, or you can’t find your kitchen anymore, it’s probably time to downsize.
On the other side Reggie, I dreamt once of a one big giant enormous warehouse, so I can put all my stuff in it. So nothing gets rid off, just I can add only. How about that?
Sad that the bulk of my ps1&2 collection some 500+ games are in boxes, I just don't have the space to display them all.
P.s. that new intro is sweet!
Little by little I'm changing my mode. I mostly play stuff on Game Pass and backwards compatibility lately instead of endlessly adding to a backlog, and being overwhelmed by choice.
You are so right I feel like downsizing my wonderswan and games it just collects dust and I have no emotion connection to it!
I try to buy games I intend to play but a few get through need to slim my collection down a bit but it’s hard to let go sometimes
I'm personally really bad about buying games and never touching them, especially since I do most of my buying during sales so I end up buying in bulk. My backlog is probably about 45-50 games currently.
My backlog just keeps growing. I keep buying games and I wanna play them but working 3rd shift, I just dont have the time. It sucks
Great video Reggie!
