I love his vids ; they're classy and yet down-to-earth ... a lot of them have a dreamy quality to them very relaxing . Not jarring as you also mentioned .
This is the second time of watching this amazing video ! I had the privilege to travel from Paris to Waterloo station England whit the magnificent Euro Star , but i never been to Belgium ...Thanks Paul...just breathtaking .. 💖
Fantastic. My lifelong best friend Rafael passed away a little over a year ago and he used to tell me how I should make sure to visit 2 cities in the world no matter what: Edinburg and Brugges. Now I can see why. Miss him so much, and this video made me connect with him once again. Thanks!
Thanks Rod, sorry to hear of Rafael. We passed Edinburgh on the Scotland trip, you should take a look, we didn’t stop however, but the shots of Scotland are awesome, you’ll love it, it’s on My web at Xscion, org. Paul
I live in the SW peninsula of the Netherlands, not too far from Brugge. I found your drone shots interesting, though to me it made Brugge look so uniform and sterile. I was also hoping you could've caught sight of Fidele, the golden lab who loves to hang out the window and watch the passing boat tourists. Too bad RUclips doesn't let you include photos here in the comment section, but if you Google Fidele you'll see him, as he's now made quite a name for himself. I'm also going to be in HKG in the fall, visiting a son who's there flying for his company on a two year commitment to this territory. Though I'd taught twice in Beijing over the years I'd never made it further south than Henan. So I'm excited and am loving all your travel videos. Cheers P.S. You should come visit the Netherlands...but there's FAR more to it than Amsterdam (just a hint) - ha!
Thanks so much Shers, I checked out Fidele but unfortunately he died in 2016! Shots like that make videos! You will love Hong Kong, you are coming at the right time of the year! I want to visit Amsterdam for sure, what other places do you recommend? Paul
@@prsw100 - Amsterdam has become very crowded, which I'm finding more and more uncomfortable these days. A beautiful visit would be to the Dutch castles and gardens, one of which would be the Palais Het Loo, the King's palace in Apeldoorn where you can stay at the lovely Bilderberg Hotel beside it. The Maurits Museum in the Hague is a definite must, and afterwards be sure to stroll through old town (not new town with all the modern shops). Then hop a bus or tram to the pretty beach area of Scheveningen. Another beautiful old city is Haarlem, where you can also do a small tour through the house of Corrie ten Boom, the Jewish refugee smuggler and Holocaust survivor. The small tour is in her family's house and given hourly by an interesting and personable guide. For more information you can always stop at our VVV, tourist board, but Haarlem is a small town and its tiny garden streets delightful. There are three interesting museums there as well as a lovely harbour.
Oh oh, I just read that the palace Het Loo is closed for renovation till 2021. :( www.paleishetloo.com/ Delft is a charming city as well with interesting history because of the famous painter Vermeer. And you can also tour a small Delft pottery factory. Just contact the VVV, and they'll tell you how to book a tour. Another pretty day trip is through the gardens of Keukenhof, which is also seasonal, opening in March till May and I'd suggest going around the time of tulip season - usually third week of April. www.bollenstreek.nl/keukenhof-gardens/?lang=en We live in Zeeland, and its pretty beaches are also fun to explore. Trains will run you to the beach area of Vlissingen, but by bus or car you can reach Domberg and West Kappelle. The little harbour towns such as ours in Goes, and in Middelburg you can also reach by train. To go any further, such as to the sleepy village of Veere and Zierikzee you have to take a bus or taxi.
Excellent job in filming this video and beautiful way to narrate the stories. I love your sophisticated way of choosing the words to describe your experiences "My joy at the emergence of the sun is heart lift in for me....... It's like listening to a story. I enjoyed watching it so much.
So nice Bruges. I have heard of it, but after watching your video, I am fully convinced. Your travels motivate our dreams and our imagination. Thanks again Paul.
Very nice video . I have lived here since i was 15 . Now i live in the countryside between Brugge and Oostende . But still ride my bike to Brugge for a coffie and waffel now 62 and still find it a lovely place

Nice vid! I like the style and just like everybody else the drone shots that give an other vieuw.. Only it is a pity you just showed the market place and some of its suroundings. There are so much more canals an places.. What about the windmills, the remaining gatehouses and so many more churches for example..? But anyway great job!!!
Excellent movie, now I want to visit Bruges! Oh wait... ;-) Is it okay for you if we share it on our Facebook and Twitter pages somewhere in the near future?
This is exactly how a video should be made, no deafening so called music that drowns the narration, only well spoken words. Well done sir.

The city of Gent (= Ghent) is so much more impressive. Been there.
ghent is bigger, and has more towers, but ghent is more of a patchwork, modern and mediëval and early modern and so on
It's forbidden to fly drones above Bruges.
