  • Hi, thanks for listening to me ramble on about some aspects of my car for 25 minutes. If you like it, and wanna see more, let me know! Share this video with your friends!
    PS: Excuse the massive carpet-bomb bird poop on my windshield, I hadn't noticed it until I was editing...
    PPS: The garage was hot. Florida is hot. Therefore I sweat, enjoy.

    I just got done reviving my aspen white wrx wagon from the dead. Other than a tune (I am getting that ASAP), its mechanically sound. The clearcoat is shot all around, it needs a new driver side fender and an overall respray. Still looks good from 20 ft away though and that rumble breaks necks everywhere 🤣. I love seeing bugeye wagons, we have to keep them around!

    This makes me miss my '02 WRX. I had Borla headers with the Hush exhaust fully catless and it sounded so sweet. Best car I ever owned. Nice ride.

    Sold my Rally Blue '02 WRX wagon that I bought new last year. I had a journal with every oil change , light bulb for 17 years, 208K miles. Broke my heart to sell it but it was time. Replace it with a it's '05 twin. Love these cars. Enjoyed the video, keep um coming.

      What was reliability like during your ownership? I’ve always been a fan of Subarus but the spotty reliability has worried me. Of course I’d be very meticulous on maintenance and plan to keep it relatively stock.

    • @stevethomas760
      @stevethomas760 2 года назад

      @@Ballsack44 For the first 10 years no real issues. As time passed things just started happening so after 17 years it was time to move on. You mentioned two things that I believe are key, maintenance/"relatively" stock. I did a stock remap and that was it. Some spirited driving early on but never hammered. I just respect my cars. Not a fan of tuning one to the absolute edge = big bang theory. Big fan of the WRX wagon. Finding a used one that hasn't been abused is challenging you add one that's cared for properly is damn near impossible. I spent 2K on maintenance on the '05 after I bought it but that's just me. Good luck,

      @@stevethomas760 thanks, I’m going to import one from Japan since it’ll be a lot easier to find a lower mileage one and the importers that I’m doing it with will inspect the car for me and make sure I’m not getting a car that needs alot of work.

    Honestly this is a badass story of acquiring a car. I just found my 03 Bugeye WRX sedan on craigslist, then again it was bone stock and no rusted and also not damaged, but that was pure luck especially since its 2020.

    Sick wagon man, I just bought an 02 wrx bugeye wagon and its my favorite car I've owned. She needs some work and shes not the fastest but like you said they handle like a dream. I got some grippy summer tires on it right now and I can literally floor it on corners and it feels like its on rails.

    Nice video. Bought my '03 wagon new in '03. Still have it. H6 rear brake upgrade is good - Brembo rears from an STI are better. Pop the trim off the inside of your hatch and disconnect the rear wiper arm connector if you don't want it moving when you spray your IC. Did you install the STI IC spray button? Had bad luck with Optima batteries - not sure why. Installed the blue STI seats for a few years but went back to stock seats because they were more comfortable. V1 Accessport! STI cluster with matching Defi gauges. Went overboard on suspension and ended up removing front and rear Whiteline strut tower bars.

    • @ThatWhiteBugeye
      @ThatWhiteBugeye  4 года назад +1

      Yu Tube wow, you’re one of the rare few. Very impressive to hold onto her that long! Congrats! Definitely want to do the STI brembos in the rear, but that will come with an STI master cylinder/brake booster as well. Brakes aren’t too dialed just yet, been focusing on the suspension aspect. I’ve debated removing/capping the rear wiper! However, i still find it humorous every time it kicks on. Keeps me grounded..haha. No TMIC spray button/controller just yet, not sure if i want to go front mount when the motor comes out. Decisions decisions. You got me thinking about getting Defi gauges again though ;)

    This is a sick wagon man, when you do the rap on this thing I would highly recommend buying a parts sedan or during the front and rear fenders to do the “oem widebody mod” to your wagon it looks so sick and makes wagons look so much better, fills in the skinny sides of the car so much better.

    Great build. Legitimate question, not trying to be a dick. Why don't you think air suspension is for street cars? I'd argue it's better for street cars because of the quick adjustability, and even though they can make it for racing performance, most pure track cars go with coilovers AFAIK.
    Im definitely not as knowledgeable about aftermarket mods for turbo Subarus, I've mostly worked on NA Subarus. Rn I own a 2.5TS, that already has an intake, exhaust, and I'm gonna throw a set of delta cams in it when I do the heads and spark plugs. I'd love to STI swap it eventually, but since I'm a 20yr old in college that's a few years off.
    Also I love the billetworkz shiftknob. I'm rebuilding the interior rn (car got mold over the Oregon Winter) and I just ordered a billetworkz knob. Super excited to get it.

    • @ThatWhiteBugeye
      @ThatWhiteBugeye  4 года назад +1

      DadBod RIP :( BUT that is a very good run mileage wise. Personally I’m liking the idea of the 207. High revving Japanese goodness sounds good to me. My only concern would just be making sure the rest of the drivetrain can keep up with the high revs, so it’s definitely pricier if you’re gonna do it right. It really just depends on how much you wanna throw at it and what’s financially feasible. There’s nothing wrong with a low mileage good compression cheap 205 to get the job done, that’s plug and play.
