    Uic very accesible because of the loop train system. Its very reliable and in time. Did not have any problems commuting back then

    This was helpful and informative to me as I will be attending UIC this fall. Just like you, I’ll be commuting as well, except I’m an hour and 45min away by metra. Do you have any helpful tips/advice for incoming UIC commuter students? Thank you for uploading this video!

      I’m glad it was helpful!
      I have some tips that I hope will be helpful:
      1) Take advantage of the Commuter Student Resource Center. This is a great communal area populated with other commuters that understand what it’s like being a commuter student. Ergo, it’s a great place to network, study, or hangout in.
      2) Join a club! Find a club that aligns with your major or one that peaks your interest. Joining a club will allow you to meet others who have the same or similar interests and provide great networking and career opportunities.
      (Joining a club helped me get closer to that “college experience” despite being a commuter.)
      3) Give yourself plenty of time and grace to get to school. As they say, the way you start a day may determine how you feel about the rest of it. Make sure to plan accordingly and give yourself extra time to get to school. It’s always better to be early than late and you can make sure you start your day off well instead of rushed and in a panic.
      Hope those tips are helpful. Congratulations on your enrollment at UIC and I wish you the best of luck!

    I have a question please my son has scollership you think is better to start there or do 2 years of oakton college then go to Uic

    • @MrPariso
      @MrPariso  3 месяца назад +2

      Usually, community colleges make students take more credits than needed before transferring to an institution like UIC.
      So, if your son has a scholarship to UIC, then, in my opinion, he should go to UIC since it will save him time!
      This is my opinion, based solely on my college experience.
      In the end, you and your son should make a decision that best suits both your personal situation and needs.
      I hope that helps!
