I made the decision in the very beginning of my tarot journey to record all of my readings by journaling, and I cannot underscore enough how much that decision has paid off!!
You can see where you were at that moment in time mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally. You are rewarded with how accurate tarot is in its messages, as some aspects of a reading you thought were less important now leap off the page with key information you didn’t deem as worthy of your attention, (or not even part of the equation).
Even quick draws of the day or more minor readings were sometimes conveying vital information. You also get to see your growth as a tarot reader as it evolved over time!!
Going back through my journals is so rewarding on so many levels, and is well worth the dedication of your time!!

When I record a reading the first thing I write is the date. I do however need to revisit them more often. Thanks for the reminder.

I always intend to, but never do, revisit my old readings except maybe once in a blue moon and then I merely skim through. Kelly-Ann Maddox mentioned in one video about going through old journal entries with a highlighter and finding re-occurring themes etc, to find patterns. Like you say, sometimes we don’t understand until later what the cards actually told us. A great opportunity to deepen our understanding of ourselves and the cards.

Such a beautiful modification of the Osho Zen. Thanks for the reminder about the Crystal Tarot - I don't think I ever noticed the chessboard on the King - this one is coming out tonight!
I really do adore decks that are trimmed to the artwork and without their names/titles. I'm still working on remembering all the Raven's Prophecy cards.

Revisiting old readings is such a good tip. It's something that I do, but not often enough. Thank you for the reminder.
      Shanti

It's not easy to keep it all in mind if you are not using the deck every week.

Hi! I am writing on my journal as I watch. I am trying to see how much of a weekly reading is predictive. I've found out that most of the time the card was very literal and me thinking about spiritual growth and what was really saying was, Yes you are going to the supermarket on Saturday!😂Also, I learned what other cards meant actual death as I lost two pets this year... 7 of pentacles and eight of cups were the key cards. I do take pictures of the cards and print on a normal printer, nothing fancy but helpful because I use different decks.

Beautiful message. Thanks! I love modding decks. I have gotten very chop-chop with a few and even though I like them as they are now, it wasn't completely necessary to mod them. I did realize that sometimes I probably just need more time to accept a deck as is. I do Instagram posts of my bigger readings to keep track and as soon as I am less busy I am thinking of starting an artsy journal… more visual than written. The recent calendar part about journalling did make me think about in what way I could enjoy/use that. Thanks for the tips!

@ thx! I will send you an email about some requests/recommendations for shipping details (not about packaging that is never the problem). Our postal system can be tricky about a few things. 😅 Nothing major just small things that can make it easier for everyone and some pitfalls to avoid that I have managed to run into throughout the years.

I have not visited my old readings, not since February 2022. The previous summer I bought the Herbracfter's Tarot and did the Wheel of the Year spread that was in the little white book. There was this confusing part for the early spring, that didn't make any sense but made me feel very, very uneasy. And then, in February 2022, everything made too perfect sense, to the point of being absolutely frightening. After that I have not visited any of my past readings - although having a photographic memory kind of make it hard NOT to remember them all. (Which means, I do remember the reading when I realised my grandmother will die soon. She did, two weeks later.) But I think I should visit the readings, for learning purposes. :D

Think of how much you have grown as a reader already! Take this all as you have space, time and energy ❤
