Finally getting what she deserves? She has always been held in high asteem by critics and other artists. Her songs have been covered by many other world famous acts/artists. Weird. I just realised, before watching this, that Chris Martin sings like Alan Partridge, and then this came up when I tried to Google if anyone else felt the same.
A lot of people in the comments finding this cringe or a poor performance…well that’s the point…the strange character singing in red is Alan Partridge, a satirical character created by comedian Steve Coogan who also plays him. Partridge was known for being a centre of cringe humour etc and a lot of the youth may not be familiar with the character; this was probably Chris Martin just wanting to have a laugh with a comedian he may have liked across the years, it’s purposely cringe!
