Thank you. The collection of items have taken many years. And most of them were purchased much earlier than the prices you see nowadays. If I had to start all over again, I’m almost certain there would be much less furniture in the home. The collection has been 15+ years. And it’s been a labor of love.
The owner did it right! She decorated according to the style of the structure. There is nothing so disappointing, for example, to see a Victorian home only to go in to see ultra modern.

Oh yes, the floor on the back deck. It about hospitalize me with back pain! But it was worth it. It took an ugly old deck floor into something that was more stylish to the home. Thank you for your kind words. I only purchased a couple of square stencils Online and went to work. It took me a couple weeks to finish it.
Thank you!! Saltbox homes were very common in New England. A dry sink is essentially as it states..they did not have running water, so they used these cabinets to bring water into the home for cooking and cleaning!
This is one of my favorite homes that you have shown! I love the salt box style and everything from the beautiful gardens and window boxes outside, to the gorgeous paint colors and mural going up the stairs. What I especially appreciate is the perfection in the decorating style, that allows the eye to appreciate each object, instead of being overwhelmed with too much clutter. I also enjoyed the continuity of the silk tulips scattered throughout the house, to add touches of spring. I could move right in here! ❤

@@dawnbell553 exactly how I feel and just came home from yard sales, found several old baskets, early prim lighting and only spent $7.00! It was actually sad as an elderly woman had passed away and her kids were selling her things for so cheap. I will treasure and display them for her in spirit of someone who loved them as much as I do.

I think this is a gorgeous home with a great collecton of primitive furniture and heirloom pieces. The home owner decorated it beautifully. My only suggestion is to add more glass to the rooms. It's lacking the shimmer if hurricane globes and colored blown glass items. It's a bit lifeless and matt throughout. But, I love everything!!!! ❤ 😊
At first, it wasn’t about authenticity, it was about the pieces that we love. And then, as we started moving them around in the home, it became more about what would it look like if we had lived back in the time the home was built. A little bit of this and a little bit of that, a little bit of technology and a little bit of primitive. We hope that all goes well. Form needs to meet function!

Our home is a classic formal Colonial Williamsburg home too, not at all primitive. We too love Colonial Williamsburg, especially in the 1990's when the home's were open everyday and decorated..We go there quite often along trips to New England and Pennsylvania and this year Berlin and Millersburg Ohio to go to the Simple Goods and Early Times shows, first timers..living in the Phoenix area, must travel to get the beautiful colonial item's..indeed your home shows the beauty inside and out.🌻🌿

Fun video! I have lived in my Saltbox for 43 years now. My home has the traditional 10 openings in the front two floors. I was really into Early Americana back in 1981. Primitive stenciling,all hardwood floors,Cranston navy/ white plaid used, Camelback sofa . After a trip to Europe in the late eighties,I returned with a more refined English Country flair. Today, my home is very French Country/ English country. But,as I view this video,Oh,how I still love the primitives from earlier days.

Secret….the painting over the fireplace is a frame tv. (Samsung). We get new artwork on it whenever we like. We have two of those TVs in our home. They are slim like a painting but are smart TVs!!!

This is my all time favorite house! So nicely decorated. Dawn’s home looks like a real home not a primitive decor hoarder. And, it doesn’t look like a museum that you can’t really live in. Love, love, love! Thank you both for sharing this gorgeous home with us!
I find stenciling to be very simple, and when you are tired of it, you can paint right over it. There are many places to purchase stencils online. Just Google and you will find them. If you want more insight, just ask and I will send you the link to where I purchased mine from.
Saltboxes have always been a favorite of mine and this one is gorgeous. so many beautiful touches like all the garlands throughout the home. Beautiful collections and so warm and inviting. I love the grounds/yard too. Just beautiful.
I like to call the garlands the "necklaces" to the home. I love to make them too!! When we adventure out to new places, I will gather whatever items I can find in nature to bring back and create a garland as a reminder of the trip!!!
Thank you. A lot of the inspiration is from Williamsburg. I love going there on an annual basis. The beds are all very special to us. David Smith built the master bed, Dottie Bab at White House creations, built the bed in the guestroom and the daybed in the girls room is a gift from my sister-in-law. They all hold special meaning and we love them as well. Thank you again.
Bridgett you know this is all your fault and Dawn and Jack's. Now I must go through my whole house and by shopping in my own house, do some new decorating and vignettes. I know just where this will go and I can move that and add this. See what I mean? Was there a detail they missed? Was there a color used wrongly? Maybe an inappropriate chair or table? Primitive stenciling,all hardwood floors,Cranston navy/ white plaid used, Camelback sofa . After a trip to Europe in the late eighties,I returned with a more refined English Country flair. Today, my home is very French Country/ English country.
But,as I view this video,Oh,how I still love the primitives from earlier days.

Secret….the painting over the fireplace is a frame tv. (Samsung). We get new artwork on it whenever we like. We have two of those TVs in our home. They are slim like a painting but are smart TVs!!!

I find stenciling to be very simple, and when you are tired of it, you can paint right over it. There are many places to purchase stencils online. Just Google and you will find them. If you want more insight, just ask and I will send you the link to where I purchased mine from.
Saltboxes have always been a favorite of mine and this one is gorgeous. so many beautiful touches like all the garlands throughout the home. Beautiful collections and so warm and inviting. I love the grounds/yard too. Just beautiful.
I like to call the garlands the "necklaces" to the home. I love to make them too!! When we adventure out to new places, I will gather whatever items I can find in nature to bring back and create a garland as a reminder of the trip!!!

Thank you. A lot of the inspiration is from Williamsburg. I love going there on an annual basis. The beds are all very special to us. David Smith built the master bed, Dottie Bab at White House creations, built the bed in the guestroom and the daybed in the girls room is a gift from my sister-in-law. They all hold special meaning and we love them as well. Thank you again.

I know just where this will go and I can move that and add this. See what I mean? Was there a detail they missed? Was there a color used wrongly? Maybe an inappropriate chair or table?
