  • In this video I will describe how to reset the MAINTENANCE REQUIRED light in a 2015 Toyota Prius.
This one is a bit more complicated, so feel free to ask for help or more specific instructions.
    Thanks!

Main thing to remember is that you must be on “Hybrid System Indicator” on the display and also on Trip A for the reset to work. Cycle the “Disp” button to go to Hybrid System Indicator mode on display. This the mode where you have horizontal bar graph with left end “CHG” and right end “PWR”; and battery showing on the very left.

It’s on time for me. My car is exactly same like this and I bought it since 10/23/2021, it was 90,000 miles already when I bought it. I am a second owner ( lucky for me). I followed your instructions on this video and reseted successfully the”maintenance require” yesterday Right now it is 101,000 miles after 4 months driving.
Thank you very much for your help

This is the 3rd video I've watched, after doing this about 6 times. I own 3 prius, and can't remember how! Neither the owners manual nor the other videos said the one thing you did:
    Prees the brake! Thanks.

Thanks! I figured out that it is not necessary to actually change to km or depress the brake. I switched to "Trip A", turned the car off, then held the km/mph button while double pressing the ignition to on but not "ready". The difference of not depressing the brake for "ready" is for if you just want to quickly reset it but not actually start the engine.

Earlier Prius vehicles only required you to hold down the kph/mph button while starting the vehicle. The 2015 requires the additional steps described in this video---which I could not find in the owner's manual. Thanks for the video!

Extra tip You dont have to hold your foot on the break. Just switch it to
    Trip A
Push and hold the KM/h MPH button then turn the car off
Then w/ foot off break press the start button 2 times to get to accessories on and it should auto start reseting the maintenance indicator

Thank you you made that look easy for some reason everyone else made it so difficult and they did not do what you did. I find it crazy that so many of these cars have all the same stuff but a different way to do things. I’m just wondering if anyone else knows anything about the headlights and are they having problems with them because I literally cannot see 3 feet in front of me if my dim lights are the only thing on.

I've been an auto mechanic for over 20 years. Many of the problems I see daily could have easily been avoided by simply following the vehicles maintenance schedule. I use a program on my computer called Automotive Wolf car care software to keep track of all the maintenance for my 3 cars, a truck and even a generator. It automatically can send you text message reminders when any type of service is due. Two of my vehicles have over 200,000 miles and have never needed any repairs. Want to save money? Follow your maintenance schedule!
