HOW TO: Reset MAINTENANCE REQUIRED light on 2015 Toyota Prius

- Опубликовано: 7 сен 2024
- In this video I will describe how to reset the MAINTENANCE REQUIRED light in a 2015 Toyota Prius.
This one is a bit more complicated, so feel free to ask for help or more specific instructions.
Thanks!
Main thing to remember is that you must be on “Hybrid System Indicator” on the display and also on Trip A for the reset to work. Cycle the “Disp” button to go to Hybrid System Indicator mode on display. This the mode where you have horizontal bar graph with left end “CHG” and right end “PWR”; and battery showing on the very left.
Yes! Thank you for this detail.
Finally this worked for me.... thank you guys!
You are the man bro. I thought something was wrong with me. Been all over the internet and starting and restarting the car for over an hour!
May the universe reward you for letting me know I’m not incompetent.
Blessings in the New Year!
This guy got it right. Has to be in hybrid system indicator. Nothing else worked. Thanks random
Wow, thank you for ending my frustration!!! It finally worked by doing that.
Thanks brother, I have to watch this every time I change the oil.
Not a problem!
I second that comment. Thank you!
Same here!
Same
Same!
Come back to this twice a year. Short, to the point. My dude.
It’s on time for me. My car is exactly same like this and I bought it since 10/23/2021, it was 90,000 miles already when I bought it. I am a second owner ( lucky for me). I followed your instructions on this video and reseted successfully the”maintenance require” yesterday Right now it is 101,000 miles after 4 months driving.
Thank you very much for your help
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I have tried this before hundred thousand times using other forums and never could get it to work. With your video it finally worked first try! You are a lifesaver!
+Tristan Bennink awesome!
This is the 3rd video I've watched, after doing this about 6 times. I own 3 prius, and can't remember how! Neither the owners manual nor the other videos said the one thing you did:
Prees the brake! Thanks.
This is the 1st and only video that helped. All other videos don't mention the Trip A step, which is apparently very important.
Finally worked.. Watched like 5+ videos and read multiple posts and none of them worked. Thank you!!
Thank you for showing the simplest way on how to do this. I couldn't find any other explanation on any type of website. Thank you again
As the other folks said, this is my go to video every for the oil change. Thank you!
I keep forgetting how to reset the maintenance notification. I come back to this tutorial every few months. Ty!
Every 6k miles I come back to this video.
David Garcia haha same.
Lol. Same here as well
There is a lot of bad information out there on this topic. Thank you for providing a simple, clear video of the correct procedure.
of course, thank you for the support!
Easy Peezy! Thank you so much! I spent way more time trying to find the place in the owners manual and never did find it. Thank you so much for your quick and easy explanation!🌺
You explained it better than anyone else! Thanks so much!
Very clear and to the point description! My both thumbs up to you. Thank you!
Thanks Bro for the accurate Video, easy to follow. I did it by myself within 1min after Car center employee had trouble for 10 mins.
i have been using this video every time since i’ve got my car. at this point i should have it memorized by now but surprisingly i don’t. this video is really helpful and gets right to the point. thank you
Fantastic explanation!!! I was able to reset it on the first try!!! Your instructions were absolutely perfect!!! Thank you.
Even the oil change guy couldn’t figure it out and he was supposedly looking it up! Guess he didn’t find your video haha. Thank you so much
I probably change the oil every 3 months with how much I drive. And I have to watch this video every single time. Lol. Thanks for making it short and to the point.
It was showing maintenance require and I taught that the battery goad damage, after watching this I was able resit it and it was very useful,
Thank you so much bro
Half of these views are from me cause I keep forgetting how to do it every time I have to reset it
😂😂
Same here. I always seem to miss a step. *sigh*
After watching a dozen RUclips videos, none of them work. After finding this video, a very to the point, step by step information, finally reset the Prius maintenance warning. The best maitenance reset information on Prius, strongly recommend this video.
Thank you, glad I could help!
It worked for my 2015 Toyota Prius. Thanks so much for the clear , simple instructions.
Thank you.. I am 72 and it took me a couple of times, but I did it, and feel proud of myself.
Way to go! I am glad this video could help
So clear and straightforward. Much better than another video that's twice as long and didn't work. Thanks!
Just did an oil change on a Prius you just saved me so much time thanks man!
Very good instructions. Done on my first try!!! Thank you 😷.
Dude you're awesome I literally knocked that out in less than 10 seconds
Thank you! Worked exactly as explained! ☺️
Thanks! I figured out that it is not necessary to actually change to km or depress the brake. I switched to "Trip A", turned the car off, then held the km/mph button while double pressing the ignition to on but not "ready". The difference of not depressing the brake for "ready" is for if you just want to quickly reset it but not actually start the engine.
DelilahThePig you are spot on with that I agree with your findings the other guys findings work as well but over excessive steps
Thank you, it works.
Thank you. Just did this today. This procedure worked for me.
Great clarification, worked for me when the instructions in the video didn't.
still didn't work for me :(
Earlier Prius vehicles only required you to hold down the kph/mph button while starting the vehicle. The 2015 requires the additional steps described in this video---which I could not find in the owner's manual. Thanks for the video!
Worked like a charm, and saved me a trip back to the dealership! Thank you!
Excellent! Glad to help!
I just finished my oil change and the mechanic didn’t know how to reset my maintenance indicator. This video helped me do it on my own. Thank you so much! Now how do I turn off traction control? 😅
I watch the video every time I have to reset my maintaining light. Thanks a million!!!
Outstanding. No ten minutes of explaining how easy this is before you show us how to do it.
Very Helpfull simce its been a while for me.
Extra tip You dont have to hold your foot on the break. Just switch it to
Trip A
Push and hold the KM/h MPH button then turn the car off
Then w/ foot off break press the start button 2 times to get to accessories on and it should auto start reseting the maintenance indicator
Thank you you made that look easy for some reason everyone else made it so difficult and they did not do what you did. I find it crazy that so many of these cars have all the same stuff but a different way to do things. I’m just wondering if anyone else knows anything about the headlights and are they having problems with them because I literally cannot see 3 feet in front of me if my dim lights are the only thing on.
Thank you so much for the help, I don't really have a dad to help me out for things like this so thank you very much
Thank you !! the "master mechanics" at Ron Tonkin Toyota in Portland Oregon couldn't figure this out and almost made me purchase an expensive "computer cluster replacement", saying there was a rash of "maintenance required" lights that weren't turning off.....I sent them this video hopefully they learn ....thank you again you saved me $$thousands
oh wow! that's crazy, glad to save you some $$$$$!
Thank you so much. My place stopped doing it everytime i change my oil. So its nice to know how to do it myself. Will keep this for just in case
Very helpful and easy to follow. Thank you!
Thank you so much!! I had been looking and had found nothing until your video.
My KM/MPH is on the left hand side. I have a 2014 plug in Prius but the steps still work. I watch this every time my oil gets changed because I always forget how to do it. Thanks for posting this
I've been an auto mechanic for over 20 years. Many of the problems I see daily could have easily been avoided by simply following the vehicles maintenance schedule. I use a program on my computer called Automotive Wolf car care software to keep track of all the maintenance for my 3 cars, a truck and even a generator. It automatically can send you text message reminders when any type of service is due. Two of my vehicles have over 200,000 miles and have never needed any repairs. Want to save money? Follow your maintenance schedule!
Thank you! Perfect instructions. Better than the dealership who couldn't tell me what to do!
Marvelous!! Much easier than what Valvoline tried to do!! 😂❤ Thank you!
This was the best explanation I have seen regarding resetting the maintenancerequired indicator. I had trouble with instructions from other videos, but I got it on the first try after seeing this. Thank you for the contribution.
And thank you again! This is like now the 10th time I had to thank you. When will I learn?
You the man! After my 3 free oil change from the dealership. I changed the oil on my own but can never reset that warning sign.
Omg! Thank you so much! Was about to take this in to a mechanic and pay money, you saved my wallet 🎉 thank you!!!
Thanks brother. Quick and to-the-point video!!!!
That was Great!, Thank You.
Duke of Oil didn't know how to reset it for me the last 2 times I went there. Thanks so much for the clear and simple instructions.
Glad it helped!
I've been watching this for 5 years 😃
VERY SIMPLE. THANKS ALOT. I'VE DONE IT BEFORE, BUT NOT THIS EASY. VERY GOOD 'HOW TO' VIDEO. KEEP IT UP!
awesome, glad it helped out. thanks!
I keep coming back here to reset maint req after I change my oil/filter. Thank you!
thank you again..i kept comeback to this video everytime i change my oil👍🏽👍🏾🙏🏾
Thank you! The mechanic forgot to reset last time and it's so annoying! I will wait until the next oil change so it's timing (every 3K miles) is accurate to come back on.
Thanks-that worked. Maybe you should send this video to my Toyota dealership.
So easy. You make it so easy.
That was so easy to do. Thank you for this straightforward video!
Big time thanks! Yours is the only instructions that work for my car!
Glad I could help!
Super easy. It worked from the first time. Thank you 🙏
I never remember how to do this. Thanks so much!!
you think I would remember this but I have to come here Everytime, thank you so much
You made it easy! Worked perfectly. Brilliant mate.
Literally the only vid that someone can explain it properly, thanks bro
I've the exact car and every time I try it. It doesn't work at all. :(
Did you ever figure this out? Dying over here lol
worked great. make sure that the display on your dashboard matches the display on the video. 2015 prius has several dashboard displays. several displays are shown on different videos.
Quick, concise, fabulous video. Well done!!!
Thank you, glad to help!
Thank you so much!! Article I read told me the wrong thing this worked!
Awesome- my kph button was to the left of the steering wheel but this totally worked.
Thanks Pal, This was so straightforward, wasn't a problem to program.
Kmh + trip + power tried twice worked great. Thanks. 2015 Prius.
Thank you so much for a clear explanation of the proper way to do this as all the others were a bull shit.
This worked for my 2015 Prius, thank you for sharing & saving me 5,000 naira (14$)
lol, thanks again.. I watch 3x per year as i keep forgetting
This one worked for my 2012 prius! Thank you!
So very helpful have a happy Fourth of July
I’m surprised that Toyota doesn’t make me also wear a funny hat and scratch my belly while patting my head at the same time to reset such a simple thing.
Super helpful. Google sucked at getting me this answer.
Not a lot of steps. Very very easy and accurate.
As Randomized Loop
posted about a year ago, this is very important!!! I could not get it to work with changing this setting.

Awesome! I worked 1st time!! Give us more tips please!!
