Your touring band and entire music catalogue is one of the most accomplished contemporary Jazz and "multi-genre" ventures" in our day where I'm concerned. The sheer richness of harmonic complexity and overall sonic experience you fine artists manage to bring to a live stage and audience is ... what's a good word... stunning, phenomenal? Something along those lines. Truly amazing. And it's always the purest joy to listen, but also watch all of you enjoying yourselves playing together. The best that music has to offer IMHO. Thank you!
So very thoughtful and generous.
I cannot stop playing this.
Great for Gwyneth for seeing the silver lining in the darkening sky. A very inspiring lesson. And kudos to you Laila for capturing this in the form of a beautiful song. ☁🎵🎶🎙🖤🤍🏢🏗
I love her story.
THIS the perfect amount of butter to the sauce.
Thanks again! I wrote this song for my cousin-in-law, the painter Gwyneth Leech. Here's her story: www.garveysimon.com/videos/the-monolith
Came because of the mysterious monoliths. I'm impressed
Beautiful!
Thank you!
I had been singing this song to myself all day when the RUclips notification came that this had been posted. Beautiful, just beautiful. I'm so inspired by this song and by Gwyneth Leech's story. May we all be fortunate enough to find such inner strength.
Ms Biali, your arrangements knock me out, even your breaths musically melt the air..especially surrounded by those masters, I have to see you live..where are you?
Gosh, that's so kind! I'm in Toronto. Where are you? You can find my tour dates at lailabiali.com/tour.
@@lailabiali I'm in Pittsburgh so I'll keep checking because I would love to see you in Toronto! When you are home and nestled up to your piano, priceless.. Plus, That shoe museum..:)
@@michelerichards233 If you're able to join us April 23, I'm doing a special pre-release album concert (with early copies of the album available). It's at 4 pm on a Sunday so it might mean coming in the night before - but if that isn't too late notice, I'd love to see you! Barring that, I have a show here at a festival on Sept 2. :)
@@lailabiali YES!
Reminiscent of Joni, Laura Nyro, and Paul Cole, but Laila, you are your own creator!! So well done!! Beautiful, all!
Gosh, thank you!

Laila has great gifts and she uses them so well. Great sound, great groove, great spirit. I saw her once live and I hope to see her again.
I hope to see you again too, Mark! Evanston reunion, 2021?
@@lailabiali Yes! The next time you appear in the Chicago area I will be there.
Beautiful on all levels!!! The ensemble is over the top great, and how cool - Ben can still play his butt off w/o his drummer's chapeau!!!
*Canadian Little Bird* - born in Vancouver BC. Check her out with Phil Dwyer septet singing curated “Canadian Song Book”...,or something along these lines...
It is something very special...
Was this before or after the recording was made? The church has such amazing acoustics. I like the vocal, that's why I ask if this is a post mastering take.
This was recorded live to tape after we did the studio version you hear on the album.
