The point of this video is not for you to point out that Korea is far from you. It's saying that no matter where you dance, that if you want to dance, you should dance.
I see so many people commenting about how they live so far away from Seoul but the point of this video is not to convince you to join 1MILLION, it is to motivate you to start dancing. No matter where you live, you can go to a dance studio and take classes. If there are no studios near you then try to do what I did when I first started dancing; take your favorite songs with a choreography and learn it, keep practicing that dance and trying to mirror ever move, then move on to free-styling to music and creating your own style. There are many tutorials online if you cannot figure out how to do something; isolation, tutting, popping, etc. As long as you have the motivation to do anything, not just dance, there will always be some way to do it. Just stop thinking about everything preventing you from getting to your 'perfect vision', you do not need to fly to Seoul, you do not need to learn from Lia Kim, or May J Lee, or Mina Myoung. Also to people complaining that they cannot learn from the 'master instructors' here, 1MILLION has been kind enough to start putting up video tutorials on a side channel where you can learn from the original choreographer. They may not be your favorite dance, but it is a place to start.
You wanna dance? Just DO it! Dance in your tiny room, dance on the streets, dance in the freaking super market, but please STOP complaining about not having a dance studio like this in your area. That shouldn't doesn't bother someone, who wants to dance. Dancing starts in small steps. You don't need that much space in the beginning:) And think about it: 1Million Dance Studio shares it's work with all of us, so they ARE everywhere! There is a dance studio in your room! Use it!
I tried attending dancing lessons a couple of years ago, but then one day the teacher just stopped the music and looked at me in the eyes and asked me "what are you doing here?". She told me that I'm not trying hard enough and she'd rather not teach me than to get the money I paid her. Needless to say that was the last lesson I ever attended. I mean, I know I'm bad at dancing and I have zero control over my arms and legs, plus I'm stiff as a shovel, but I was trying and I was doing my best and I really wanted to learn; that's why I was there in the first place. I even practiced at home after every lesson. I still feel like crying whenever I think about that, and since that day I haven't danced at all.

I still dance and people now find it hard to believe that I was bad when I was younger. If you really want to dance, don't let what that asshole said bring you down. Use it as fuel to become stronger and better. Prove those who say you can't do it wrong. Nothing is impossible if you put your mind and soul into every little piece. This doesn't just apply to dancing, but to everything we do in life. I understand if you don't want to dance anymore, but if you want to get somewhere, don't let anything or anyone get in the way. Believe in yourself. I believe in you, so why can't you right? You can do it, I promise! :) x

That one line was powerful 'you're doing more difficult things in life' I started dancing a year ago and even though I've improved a lot since I've started , there had been a lot of times where I take class and I felt like I was stuck in the same place and not improving. I'm trying to break through that right now and keep improving!
Dancing is my life, It's the only thing, that makes me happy and builds me up when I'm on the point, where I just want to give up... Of course my friends are there for me, but they aren't 24/7 by my side, they all have other things to do or deal with :) Dancing expresses, what words can't aren't able to. Dancing feels like being another person in another world, in that moment you just completely forget your problems, stress, situation, etc. You don't need much to be able to dance, just your body. And it doesn't matter, of you live in Seoul, America, Australia, Africa, Asia or in Europe. You can dance everywhere. It's not about being able to go to 1MILLION Dance Studio. I think, that's what they're trying to say :)
If I could drop out of University and buy a ONE WAY plane ticket to Korea for just this dope ass Dance Studio, I so would. But fuck having no money and being forced to get a degree. ONE DAY THOUGH 1M. WAIT FOR ME!!!
Guys, there are bound to be dance syudios where you live. even though it may not be the same style as 1 Million, most major cities have a dance studio and if there isnt, go to a nearby college campus, they usually offer classes if they have a gym. There really is nothing stopping you from doing what you want to do and yes, I believe everyone can dance, so do not stop yourself because you think you cannot.

I always loved to dance, but the moment I thought of making it into my future, I started to hate it. My dream is to be a dancer, I dance well and i also choreographed my own dances. I have danced in every function in school , my friend's parents love my moves they said you dance well and your body is also so fit, you can be something in future related to dance. Believe me i feel so happy when they said so to me. They also told my mom to put me in dance classes but they are not convinced with it. My biggest problem to not be a dancer is my family they don't want to see me as a dancer. But I will not give up my dream I will fulfill it and I will do it, I still argue each day with my parents to give me permission to dance, they have never seen me dancing, they don't know how much proud I feel when I dance in front of the audience including teachers, students,parents and many out comers. When I heard their clapping I feel so blessed and just remand one thing just my efforts how I come here force me to cry, it's the beautiful moment of my life, and 1million is my favorite bqz everyday I learn something new from them, I know it's to long but I still can't explain my efforts in just this 1000 words. I know only 1 people in lakh will read it but still tqu whoever is reading it and I will never give up on my dream 🙂
I'm the exact opposite. I guess with freestyle it's just following the beat of the music freely. Let your body do the work, don't think about anything but the music. I hope this helps. Idk, I'm not a pro ;D

i love this soo much! When I first started dancing I was really nervous and afraid that I wouldn't be good enough. But I realized quickly that dancing is not about being the best and looking the best, it's about learning and growing and having fun while doing it. It's a process that takes practice and the best feeling is when you see how much you have progressed. I've only been dancing for 4 months and have a long ways to go but I love it and I'm glad I decided to start.
There are so many things I hope to do in life, like actually dancing, kickboxing, Taekwondo... But so many things are stopping me from doing it. I dance whenever I can if I have the tiniest space and time to do it, but I'm alone. I hope to be happy with these little opportunities I have, and I am !.. but you know, dancing alone is... depressing. Nobody is here to dance with you, and you can't change this tiny happiness of yours into a smile to share. I would love to take classes of kickboxing, but I live so far from everything ! And I have so little time for it ! I know these are excuses, but I really can't.. Right now I am saving money to buy a punching bag (I once gave a kick in one at a shop and I seriously cannot get over it), but my mom says things like "This will not get into my house" "if you want it, put it in your dad's house"... And then, taekwondo.. I think there is ONE school of taekwondo around where I live, but when I say around, I mean one hour and a half from me! I do what I can; workout, run... I devote myself to music (like signing, playing guitar, piano, ukulele, euphonium..): it's never enough. Nowadays, having a passion is almost taboo. Do you see me, a girl, telling some other girl "I just LOVE kickboxing! I wish I could have the time and money to learn it properly !"? Well, I did say that to some people once, and you wouldn't be surprised by their answer!: "Ew what the hell hahahaha seriously ?" And Taekwondo: "Just what the hell is Ta-eh-ka..do? You're weird! haha" Everything is so black and white. There are these shade of gray people, which I love ! And everyone of them is so inspiring. But someday, these shades will become darker or lighter, and finally fit into society as a "responsible adult". Someone with a passion, to me, is a gem. So if you read up to this point, and you have something you love, hold on to it. That was a pretty long and depressing comment, which I don't have any idea why I am writing it, but anyway, try your very best to keep on going, because you fucking rock. You really do. Hi. i'm also a dancer from a different dance school. I'm one of the "demo dancers" there. Which means you train allot and get trained by different choreographers to learn routines too put in a mix and compete with your crew to win at contest. 2 months ago my crew DC Blast became Dutch Champions in the youth division. I've only been dancing for a year and found to be fortunate enough to be a part of my crew. Now i've seen a video of your dance school and it reminds me so much of mine dance school. that's why i'm going to Korea this summer to join your dance school for a while. So I just want to put my thoughts out here....Some of you are saying that you have tried to start dancing, but you suck at it. Dancing takes A LOT of practice and experimenting how to move your body to get the move to look correct. I have never taken dance lessons I just started out by following easy Vocaloid dances (if any of you know what that is ^_^; ) , and then it moved to k-pop which I still dance to, and now I'm trying to learn 1million's dance choreography. Start out small and just keep working your way up. Don't get upset with yourself and your moves, instead take a breath and figure out how to fix it just watch yourself in a mirror or record yourself. It helps a lot.
+SieSieCosplay There's just one problem...when u r self conscious and a perfectionist like me then you'll loose motivation real soon. For example I tried to learn the chorus part of Boy In Luv by BTS once bc our P.E. teacher told us that we need to teach the class a choreography of our choice. Well...I think I practiced for three weeks (I really forced myself into it) and then at school as we recorded it and I saw how bad I was in it I just kept judging myself for being so bad at it. When I can't get one thing right at the first try I get really upset and loose motivation and all blame it on myself. So I think "just starting" with it isn't that easy. And I have the bad manner to always compare myself to others so when I see such good dancers dancing like it's the easiest thing on earth I just get sad and feel afraid to start danicng in front of them. Ha...
I didn't say starting was easy...if fact I know it's far from it. I said I started with easy Vocaloid dances. I'm a perfectionist too. And BTS is extremely hard to learn. Their dances can be some of the hardest. So don't beat yourself up over okay? Just keep trying.

You pointed out my weakness. I can't freestyle with unfamiliar music or beats. But I do good with songs I originally know (not just Kpop).
That works! You can freestyle to any music, you don't need to choose an entirely new song to freestyle.

i love this soo much! When I first started dancing I was really nervous and afraid that I wouldn't be good enough. But I realized quickly that dancing is not about being the best and looking the best, it's about learning and growing and having fun while doing it. It's a process that takes practice and the best feeling is when you see how much you have progressed. I've only been dancing for 4 months and have a long ways to go but I love it and I'm glad I decided to start.
There are so many things I hope to do in life, like actually dancing, kickboxing, Taekwondo... But so many things are stopping me from doing it. I dance whenever I can if I have the tiniest space and time to do it, but I'm alone. I hope to be happy with these little opportunities I have, and I am !.. but you know, dancing alone is... depressing. Nobody is here to dance with you, and you can't change this tiny happiness of yours into a smile to share. I would love to take classes of kickboxing, but I live so far from everything ! And I have so little time for it ! I know these are excuses, but I really can't.. Right now I am saving money to buy a punching bag (I once gave a kick in one at a shop and I seriously cannot get over it), but my mom says things like "This will not get into my house" "if you want it, put it in your dad's house"... And then, taekwondo.. I think there is ONE school of taekwondo around where I live, but when I say around, I mean one hour and a half from me!
I do what I can; workout, run... I devote myself to music (like signing, playing guitar, piano, ukulele, euphonium..): it's never enough.
Nowadays, having a passion is almost taboo. Do you see me, a girl, telling some other girl "I just LOVE kickboxing! I wish I could have the time and money to learn it properly !"? Well, I did say that to some people once, and you wouldn't be surprised by their answer!: "Ew what the hell hahahaha seriously ?" And Taekwondo: "Just what the hell is Ta-eh-ka..do? You're weird! haha"
Everything is so black and white. There are these shade of gray people, which I love ! And everyone of them is so inspiring. But someday, these shades will become darker or lighter, and finally fit into society as a "responsible adult".
Someone with a passion, to me, is a gem. So if you read up to this point, and you have something you love, hold on to it. That was a pretty long and depressing comment, which I don't have any idea why I am writing it, but anyway, try your very best to keep on going, because you fucking rock. You really do.
And oh hi, people of 1Million. I discovered your videos some time ago and I wish to tell you how awesome you are and how you motivate me in my daily life. You guys are really inspiring ! Thanks a lot xxxxx

Yeah same here I wanted to do so many things I have tried karate kendo swimming futsal, now hip hop dance I also want to do Muay Thai atm all my sports are like maybe 5 - 10 min drive, I feel for you :( I use to travel to uni 2-3hrs a day by train, not anymore, everything is much more convenient if it is closer, where are you from? Hi. i'm also a dancer from a different dance school. I'm one of the "demo dancers" there. Which means you train allot and get trained by different choreographers to learn routines too put in a mix and compete with your crew to win at contest. 2 months ago my crew DC Blast became Dutch Champions in the youth division. I've only been dancing for a year and found to be fortunate enough to be a part of my crew. Now i've seen a video of your dance school and it reminds me so much of mine dance school. that's why i'm going to Korea this summer to join your dance school for a while. And i really can't wait to learn allot from you guys and hope to become even a better dancer! Lots of love from The Netherlands!

I live in NYC but I've lived in upper NY, near Albany and there are more than a few cool dance schools/studios.
+meow Hailey (Yuki Sakurada) i'm pretty sure you have something similar there. Even in Lithuania we have an "EXTREME dance school" that teaches HipHop, break dancing, popping, locking & other shizzle. just search for place like that, i'm sure there's plenty.

So I just want to put my thoughts out here....Some of you are saying that you have tried to start dancing, but you suck at it. Dancing takes A LOT of practice and experimenting how to move your body to get the move to look correct. I have never taken dance lessons I just started out by following easy Vocaloid dances (if any of you know what that is ^_^; ) , and then it moved to k-pop which I still dance to, and now I'm trying to learn 1million's dance choreography. Start out small and just keep working your way up. Don't get upset with yourself and your moves, instead take a breath and figure out how to fix it just watch yourself in a mirror or record yourself. It helps a lot.
+SieSieCosplay There's just one problem...when u r self conscious and a perfectionist like me then you'll loose motivation real soon. For example I tried to learn the chorus part of Boy In Luv by BTS once bc our P.E. teacher told us that we need to teach the class a choreography of our choice. Well...I think I practiced for three weeks (I really forced myself into it) and then at school as we recorded it and I saw how bad I was in it I just kept judging myself for being so bad at it. When I can't get one thing right at the first try I get really upset and loose motivation and all blame it on myself. So I think "just starting" with it isn't that easy. And I have the bad manner to always compare myself to others so when I see such good dancers dancing like it's the easiest thing on earth I just get sad and feel afraid to start danicng in front of them. Ha...
I didn't say starting was easy...if fact I know it's far from it. I said I started with easy Vocaloid dances. I'm a perfectionist too. And BTS is extremely hard to learn. Their dances can be some of the hardest. So don't beat yourself up over okay? Just keep trying.
