Just tasted it for the first time and I really like it. I wasn't quite sure what to expect from it, but it is super delicious. Definitely getting a bigger pack next time.
Thanks, Don - this sounds like my kind of tea! BTW Koji ferment has been shown to break down caffeine (Food Research International, Volume 53, Issue 2, October 2013, Pages 670-677, Min Ju Kim et al.). So, that might be why it doesn't carry a caffeine punch (as you've mentioned). I will certainly be placing an order!
I've got a Yamabuki Nadeshiko from a nearby shop, that I am quite fond of. It is certainly interesting and different than most but, I also enjoy the slight tingling sensation and almost pinkish hue it gets in later steeping. (Quite a nutty flavor as well) Hopefully this sticks around for a while untill I am able to order some. I should also say (maybe it's just for the one I've got) but I prefer to brew around 90° and let some of the lighter notes come out.
I've had a fermented tea from Shizuoka Japan with some sort of sake fermentation process and I thought it was quite good. From your descriptions, Don, I think may I have had that tea from a Japanese owned seller here in the states.
@@MeiLeaf the seller I tried it from recommended 3g to 100ml with boiled water for 3 minutes. I tried it that way and liked it. I only had a sampler so I didn't get a chance to experiment with any other methods like the one you're using here.
Could the word you're looking for be "effervescence"? (Like that zingy fermented sourness/bite in kombucha, pickled veg, or even more strongly, sichuan peppercorns). This tea sounds right up my alley! Shame I already put in my yearly order :) (stuck in customs now for over a week, argh.) The alcohol note reminds me of your B.A.D. tea, which I absolutely love, and with those palm sugar/dried date notes, this sounds like a a real "special treat" tea!
Congrats on 100K 🎉👍🤘☺️ it's been hard earned. I've enjoyed many a delicious brew with you over the years. I don't have many friends, and none who enjoy tea, or go to such lengths of geekiness. Thanks for all you do. P.s. The Attention Treasury game is kicking my butt. I'm stuck on number three 😅 I'm determined to prevail though. Cheers.
Don! I'm really struggling with the 7th clue in the Attention Treasury. No matter what I search, all I can find is WMD being used to mean "Weapons of mass destruction". Is there something I'm missing?
It's a graze running across his head, which implies his neck twisted as he got the graze. Not normally a part of the face that gets hit if you fall while walking, as you instinctively brace yourself with your arms. Don't think it's a bike fall either as his hands are unmarred, unless he wears gloves, also no bruising on the head. Best guess is hit his head on a branch while cycling?

Probably the same tea as I think there is only one company in Japan making this tea.

Not quite the right word - I will find one! Sorry to hear that customs are delaying your order.

Think of the mainstream mass media.
Don, are you ok? Looks like you have had an injury. Hope all is well, and wishing you a speedy recovery.
I also want to know 😮

I'm getting some serious Sherlock Holmes vibes here!
