Thanks for watching with us! Important to note that veterans with existing digestive system ratings will not automatically undergo VA reevaluation. If you are seeking VA compensation for a digestive condition or are currently service-connected, this information is valuable to understand.
I have been battling the VA on several conditions that should be service connected but keep getting denied. I have GERD, but have never filed a claim. How is GERD service connected?
@@johnandstephanie377 They included both diagnosis as one rating, albeit it shows two separate diagnosis. I appealed and was denied my appeal. Got 30% out of combining both and in the hundo club, therefore no need to poke the bear.
I am service connected for GERD at 40% using the old system. I have a number of ailments associated with GERD such as breathing problems from aspiration of bile into my lungs and IBS-D. Can I get a rating for a condition that is secondary/caused by the service-connected condition? How do I do this? I tried a few years ago and was denied for all problems because they were not service connected even though I specifically specified that my conditions were caused by the service connected condition(s). Is there another way to go about this? Thank you for your assistance.
GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) can lead to teeth erosion due to the frequent exposure of teeth to stomach acids. However, it is not specifically listed under Diagnostic Code 7206. If you are seeking to establish a connection between GERD and teeth erosion for VA benefits, it would likely require medical evidence to show that the teeth erosion is a secondary condition caused by the GERD. This secondary condition would then be rated separately based on its impact and severity. Have a great day!

Thank you!
I'm 100% T&P, but received a ZERO rating for gastroenteritis, but it is listed as service connected.
Wow, I was given a 10% rating for gerd three years ago. A claim was filed for IBS two weeks ago. I was deployed to Iraq from 12/03 to 03/05.
Thanks

Can you get a separate rating for IBS and GERD?
It's supposed to be separate ratings, however they combined both ratings into one, in my case. I appealed to have two separate ratings, no dice.
Before, no. Look up pyramiding. Now, IBS and GERD are separated. GERD is far more restrictive, IBS is better.

@@vitodiamico910 you can separate the two as of May 19, 2024. You may want to resubmit
They lumped mine together!

Is GERD assoicated with teeth erosion considered the same under Dianostic code 7206?

Can you be rated separately for these conditions?
I know how you feel they have a pattern of denial and new employees are determining our faith after waiting 52 years for what they owe us.
Is there any change if you are claiming gerd as secondary
I have an open claim right now and I'm claiming gerd as secondary, will there be any change for that
Your have to earn hhemmaroids😅
No one is talking about the change to the resection of large intestine rating
