    Thanks for the informative drive thru...I usually tent cap at Hanna Flats but have been considering bringing my RV up for an extended stay at Serrano. it looks like it should fit. but do you know if there are any length restrictions for RVs

      mikeinsanediego The RV loop I think will fit most RVs. My Trailer+Truck combo is just over 35 ft and there is still a bit of room to spare especially if I back it up some more.
      I think the site where I said it was nice and shady just a couple sites away from mine can fit an even longer one.

    What loop would be best if you had a big group, some have tents and some have RVs?

    I'm trying to book at Serrano. Do u know if most of the sites have plenty of shade ?? I'm looking at the lake view or summer wind. I don't want to book somewhere with no shade

      Hi, there are shade trees all over, so most likely, you will have some shade. Chances are you will have to move around throughout the day though. Enjoy.

    Is this your favorite campground in the San Bernadino mountains?

    • @CampoutWithMe
      @CampoutWithMe  10 месяцев назад

      I wouldn't say the favorite, but I do like the campground as there are lots to do in the area. I also like the campgrounds on the other side of Big Bear near Angelus Oaks area, which are typically less busy.

      @@CampoutWithMeWhich campgrounds would those be? I was thinking of going to Hanna Flat. Seems to be a really nice area up there with many dirt trails as well.

    I have a 33 ft forest river and was advised it's too big to make the drive up to big bear because of the tight curries.
    Any one run into this problem?

    • @CampoutWithMe

      I think the road up to Big Bear should be ok. The section to Serrano CG has several U- turn type turns that can be tricky but I suppose if you take it slow and wide, probably will make it. Of course you probably do that only in the Summer.

      @@CampoutWithMe what route did you take to big bear? How was the drive up

    • @CampoutWithMe
      @CampoutWithMe  2 года назад

      @@JG-ft9lr From I-10, I went up SR-330 to SR-18. Then just before the dam, make a left to SR-38 that will take you to the campground.
      You are going pretty high up into mountain. My trailer is relatively light and is only 20 ft so there was no issue. SR-38 has some narrow spots and tight turns so just go slow.

      Well, that was a challenge! I think it was around 7:43 in the video.
      Should be the 3rd last on the right according to the map 🙂

      I had to look at the end credits myself, that was in Aug 2019. Right now most will think it is a bit chilly up in Big Bear area. You are up in the 7000ft or so elevation. Now depending on what you are camping in, for us SoCal folks, most will probably think it's cold at night. Daytime I would think it's great temp for hiking / biking etc.

      I don't recall exactly but I think it was around $35-$40/NT for my site which had electricity.
