Your work is exquisite! I am just beginning to master filigree and am working in fine silver. I cannot wait to become proficient in the techniques, so that I might begin to touch gold for the first time. Thank you for sharing your work so that others might be inspired. Many Blessings.
Thank you for the translation! Your work is beautiful. I am a metalsmith, and I have recently had the opportunity to take a course in silver filigree and felt an affinity for the technique. Despite all the modern technological innovations in tools and materials, I think many of us enjoy working in the old style, where simple tools and a mastery of technique allows you to produce beautiful results.

Good afternoon, Azza Fahmy! Your work is beautiful. I also want to learn this kind of work. but I do not have any tools or skills yet. Can that that will advise, with what to begin? What tool.? Many thanks .
what are he bars in which the gold in placed made of? At what temperature? I don't have the money to set up my dream of jewlwery making but I admire the art and accept my only chanc of participating ....desighning. I respectfully thatnk you for sharing a glimpse at your art. Clara
I love what I know of Eqyptian culture especially the jewelry..I have always worked in an area where you watch and learn ..so I understand without speaking the language =)
Thank you for the video, Mrs. Azza Fahmy. I have come across two large pieces of jewelry from the Middle East, I believe they are from Saudi Arabia or possibly Iraq. They appear very old and have amazing detailing such as the earrings in your video. Do you know of someone who might be able to help me identify where they're from, their age, and their value?
Nice showing the filigree technique. It is a shame that a lot of old techniques are disappearing, but the main reason for that is the "time is money" thing, everything has to be done fast, no patience. I have to think of granulation's, enameling, chase work, I fortunately was taught that during my apprenticeship, but today that is not taught anymore, as it is not economical, as many goldsmith masters say.
They had time to do such intricate work since they didn't have tv, radio, internet and other social media. This is like cooking from scrap. I appreciate this more than some item made in a manufacturing line.
I am a goldsmith and although the technique is pretty simple and straightforward the time involved is horrendous its not only assembling the piece but making the wire twisting it and preparing it for the piece how much could you reasonably charge for a piece like that? while you working rents, overheads staff salaries etc keeps ticking over and then you still got to make a profit.
Sorry for writing you, just out of curiosity your page come up on my suggested friend lists so I was just wondering if I knew you from somewhere?!!!...
Marvellous! In fact we should perpetuate such handicrafts and techniques. And this can only be achieved by learning those techniques at an early age.l'm a teacher and l'd like our schools to provide handicraft workshops to dig out and encourage youths' talents.

i dont think i realize how malleable metals really are, i wish this video contained more information on it, its a very satisfying process to watch i'm sure
Shoukran Mrs Azza Fahmy, your work is absolutely beautiful and watching it along with the music is mesmerizing . How i wish i could speak Arabic though. Thank you very much for the subtitles. And on behalf of the other westerners like me who enjoy your video, please forgive the self indulgence of some of us, and do not pay any attention to the stupidity of some other's comments. English is not the international language, it is just what some lazy monoglots anglosaxons and others want to believe.
+olfursson kyllian So you don't speak Arabic, but you criticise others who ask for translations. Aren't you lucky they did, so you too can understand what Ms. Fahmy is telling us?
