Grew up in the San Antonio area. My parents bought the blue couch set in 1998. It was very gaudy after awhile. They kept it till 2017 or so. The jingle in my head has been unlocked. I remember when Six Flags Fiesta Texas was like that. Kinda still is. Six flags over Texas had a more contemporary commercial. I remember plenty of bud light bottles like that as a 6 year old.
@@danielleslater2317 I'm slowly going through my childhood tapes and haven't found anything from KERA yet. We watched a lot of PBS growing up so it's definitely possible I'll run across something. If I do I'll be sure to post it here.
thanks for these! I was looking to bolster myself up with some of the childhood jingles I know so well: David MacDavid, Dalworth carpet clean, Colter's Texas Barbecue - It's where the real stuff comes from! This reawakened me to the Taco Bueno jingle. Pure inspiration. Also, was the Men's Wearhouse guy a college professor? 8:00 so much I had forgotten of my native metroplex.

After leaving his executive position with the company, he continued as the company's spokesperson, until he was fired in June 2013. Zimmer is now the founder, chairman, and CEO of Generation Tux, an online tuxedo and suit rental platform, and zTailors, a national network of on-demand tailors for men and women. Later in the early 1970s, he worked as a purchasing agent and salesman in Hong Kong and Dallas.
I grew up in DFW until 1997, then moved out of the area. I have a lot of tapes from the mid '90s that I'm still working to digitize. I'll be adding them here when I can! Thanks for the sub!

My grandparents had a velvety blue couch too. Not sure if those are coming back in style anytime soon. And why is that jingle so catchy!?
My poor heart can’t take the nostalgia 🥺
For real. At times I can't breath. It really hurts to watch our past. Life was better then. Now we live in a shett hole.
Even though I wasnt around to see these commericals I still get nostalgic watching them

Glad you liked them! It's been really fun to comb through the old VHS tapes and find these commercials. More to come!
