Pool like most libertaryans confuses consistent with dogmatic . Consistent is flexible and allows for adjustments because people make mistakes. Dogmatic is used by right wingers because they don't think they make mistakes, refuse to admit it when they do and blame it on others anyway.

He's calling himself anti-war, but he's just being isolationist. He also believes that's a far left position. Isolationism isn't anti-war, it's FYGM which is a RIGHT WING POSITION. Leftists are anti-war, but not isolationist. At least that's how I saw it, someone correct me if I'm missing something.
Isolationism is lazy, and tbh it's usually inconsistent because it's not like countries don't have allies and other countries they seek to gain from. Tim doesn't actually favor true isolationism, just selective isolationism - he's no different than Tulsi gabbard on that. It's a cop out, and it's not a real position most of the time because the people today that SAY they're isolationists don't actually support isolationism. Tim didn't say he was against sending Israel funding, he struggled with that and said "it depends" basically - because he's not an isolationist. Most of the time people like Tim just say they're an isolationist because conservatives have reactionary views of history and idolize past nutcase politicians that used isolationist rhetoric, so when they push that rhetoric yeah there are fanboys that latch on despite the fact they aren't themselves isolationists. America had various isolationist phases for a time (except when we were out conquering others, whether it be genocide of indigenous people, or taking over Puerto Rico, or forcing Japan - which was a *true* isolationist country at the time - to open it's ports, etc.), Where people used the rhetoric of isolationism to get what they wanted despite the fact they were still trying to colonize others and push America onto other nations or people. I think it's rare for a country to truly be isolationist so most of the time it is just a rhetorical strategy rather than a sincere stance.
In WWII for example the rightwing isolationist position was to avoid conflict in europe and negociate with Hitler. (Ironic how they later became the "support the troops" party).
Anti-war as a blanket statement is not a left position. There are times when a larger peace requires fighting an existential threat (see: the Civil War, WWII, for example). Taking the Just War Theory seriously is a big step in trying to figure such things out.

What's his stance on Taiwan? @@jujulachlan11 While I haven't lived in Hong Kong for the last 20 years, I keep up with news there, and from what I am hearing it's not doing great. Under an atmosphere of constant threat to personal freedoms and safety, courtesy of the vague and draconian National Security Law, Hong Kong is experiencing an exodus, with hundreds of thousands who have already left the city, citing reasons such as loss of freedoms, fearing for their own safety, district in the education system, etc. Land and property makes up a huge proportion of Hong Kong's wealth, and with the reduction of demand, the prices are falling quite drastically (while still obscenely expensive). Financially, foreign investors are pulling out of Hong Kong. Very recently, Moody downgraded Hong Kong's credit outlook from "stable" to "negative", saying "there were signs of reduced autonomy of Hong Kong’s political and judiciary institutions after the implementation of a National Security Law." Despite all of these developments over the last few years, the current administration very stubbornly refuse to take any responsibility for the consequences of their own actions, resorting to blaming everyone else who does not toe their line, and continue to shut out dissenting voices, even very recently advocating for something I can only compare to a hive-mind mentality. A straw man fallacy is the informal fallacy of refuting an argument different from the one actually under discussion, while not recognizing or acknowledging the distinction. One who engages in this fallacy is said to be "attacking a straw man".
The fallacy of begging the question occurs when an argument's premises assume the truth of the conclusion, instead of supporting it.
You've got it correct.

Accusation in a mirror (AiM), mirror politics, mirror propaganda, mirror image propaganda, or mirror argument is a hate-speech incitement technique where one falsely attributes to one's adversaries the intentions that one has for oneself and/or the actions that one is in the process of enacting.
During the 1994 Rwandan genocide, accusation in a mirror was used by the Hutus, along with other propaganda techniques, to incite the genocide in 1999.
In other words, you assume without proof the stand/position, or a significant part of the stand, that is in question. Begging the question is also called arguing in a circle.
Argument from incredulity, also known as argument from personal incredulity, *appeal to common sense* or the *_Divine fallacy_* (that is, pretending to be Omniscient, and able to know things you cannot know) is a fallacy in informal logic. It asserts that a proposition must be false because it contradicts one's personal expectations or beliefs, or is difficult to imagine, as if your beliefs have any empirical or tangible values
The Gish gallop /ˈɡɪʃ ˈɡæləp/ is a rhetorical technique in which a person in a debate attempts to overwhelm their opponent by providing an excessive number of arguments with no regard for the accuracy or strength of those arguments. Gish galloping prioritizes the quantity of the galloper's arguments at the expense of their quality.
Bullshivic

There are citizens with valid complaints & issues, but invariably the meeting will have to deal with some Bullshivic & his personal gripe of "supreme importance".
*Gaslighting is a psychological term used to describe* the process of *grooming* someone into believing that they are losing it or going crazy. *Gaslighting a child is perhaps the most egregious form of child abuse.*
Gaslighting is a common form of emotional/psychological abuse and can be used as a tactic in *grooming* children for abuse. The term comes from Gaslight (1944) a movie where the technique is used by the characters. *Gaslighting is sometimes also called “crazy making”.*
*In the context of child sexual abuse (CSA) the **_gaslighting_** is often used to convince the victim all the abusive behaviours are fine, normal and an expression of “love”. It is used to ensure the victim doesn’t speak out about it and doesn’t fight back. It can also be used in concert with other **_grooming_** tactics like fear and isolation.*
*Trivializing: The victim’s feels are made to feel like they don’t matter, are **_unfounded_** or they are weak for thinking so.*
*Countering: This is quintessential gaslighting. * They _directly counter the memories and perceptions of the victim._
*Repetitive Questions: The abusive partner makes the victim doubt what they think or feel by asking the same question multiple times.* Questions are asked so many times the victim doubts their own answers.
*Diverting: The abuser diverts the subject and puts the blame into outside circumstances.*
"What Others Say": The abuser tells the victim what other people "think" about the victim, the abuser and/or the situation on whole.
Literally what all Right Wing Fascist talking points are doing, making claims and arguments, asking questions that all rely on an unproven premise, which stumps the opponent because it's a logical fallacy. They then pretend to declare victory, knowing full well their crimes because the innocent don't know to lie.
This is their entire toolkit, it's all reverse psychology, and Psychological warfare, perfected in Palestine, exported to the West. Republicans are Authoritarian Communists, America is a People's Democratic Republic with a Constitution, just like China, Iran, N Korea, and the USSR.
All of which have _less_ inequality.
Patriotism and Communism are Synonyms, they just Orwelled us into believing we were Capitalists, when in fact it's the rich leeching off the working class.
This is why we must call for Direct Digital Democracy without parties or politicians. Citizen initiated referendums with thresholds and a social contract means Communities can vote their own laws. As well as a Public Authority to audit police and prosecute bad actors in our own courts.

Well done Emma. You did great!
Props to Emma and the team. Their knowledge on foreign affairs has massively improved since February of 22. Clearly been putting the work in!
Their knowledge is wrong. It wasn't a treaty they are speaking about, it was the budapest agreement. An agreement is not a legal requirement, it's basically just a promise. The US have broken plenty of agreements through the years and broken international law many many times too like with the torture of prisoners and the invasion of Iraq.
@@Hawkeye19821 They're able to point to other nation states and agreements with an understanding they previously lacked. That shows a genuine improvement.
And while they are being imprecise using the term treaty instead of agreement or memorandum (a common mistake), their misuse of the word does not fundamentally change their argument that the US should keep it's word.
@sanninjiraiya Hang on, hang on, hang on. Imprecise is not the right word. They are completely wrong. This analogy would be that it's the difference between me having a verbal agreement to buy your house and me having signed the contract making it legally binding. This isn't anywhere remotely the same and i'm sure alot of people make the mistake but that is not relevant as to how wrong it is. Also they may have gotten better but they are still bad at this and it is important as over 200 thousand people have watched this video and counting and most of them will believe what they are being told. It is also very hypocritical that they spend the whole video slagging off Tim about being ignorant when they themselves are equally so.

"Emma, you dont know how many people were pushed in front of a train last year???!!! Unreal. Anyway, what's this Israel-Palestine conflict you're rambling about?" When he debated Vaush years ago, it was the same shit with their covid debate. Tim doesn't know a thing. He s great at regurgitating talking points.
It's why Tim refuses to do debates outside of his home with the two skate parks and always has to invite on another person on his side to be against the person they're talking to.
Emma should've asked him about Taiwan. He will instantly become a pro-war and pro-interventionist.
I don't care about Taiwan and I am not pro-war! China can take it, the world won't lose any sleep.
Nice try though...
What's his stance on Taiwan? I genuinely don't know what Pool "thinks", for lack of a better term, but I am concerned for the unceasing tension across the strait, as I am from Hong Kong, and I consider the Taiwan situation "Hong Kong adjacent", at the very least. We are being stripped of our freedoms, and I fear Taiwan is Mainland China's next target.
@@berniethekiwidragon4382what is it like living in HK? like how would you say that life has changed for you in the past decade
Very recently, Moody downgraded Hong Kong's credit outlook from "stable" to "negative", saying "there were signs of reduced autonomy of Hong Kong’s political and judiciary institutions after the implementation of a National Security Law."
Despite all of these developments over the last few years, the current administration very stubbornly refuse to take any responsibility for the consequences of their own actions, resorting to blaming everyone else who does not toe their line, and continue to shut out dissenting voices, even very recently advocating for something I can only compare to a hive-mind mentality. This is so extreme, some commentators are reminded of the extremes during the Cultural Revolution in China during the 60s and 70s.
Just look at John Lee Ka Chiu's Wikipedia page, especially the parts about his current tenure as Chief Executive. The guy is an abusive brutish clown. I cannot remain unbiased at him. I absolutely hate his guts.
Tim Pool is a total goofball, he tried to hold her to account in every situation we give money to a country for defense that liberals support, but when asked about his view of Israel, he don't want to talk about it anymore. It's so lame, she walked him LIKE A DOG (Trumpism).

It’s people like Tim for one of the reasons why treaties with native Americans were broken.
Lakota here: that would be 90% of white people - not just the right, the neoliberal wannabe left is also very responsible to broken treaties. The right wing grifter audience is made up of 2 groups:
1.) The group that is ignorant enough to think the grifter is genuine and sincere in their motivations.
2.) The group that on some level know the grifter is just that....a grifter. But they support the grifter so long as their useful to the political agenda of the larger movement.
THIS was my favorite part. Emma just made him squirm and it was amazing to watch.
Tim can't comment on anything related to Israel, because doing so would require actually having to put an idea out into the world. An act that is toxic to his career as a professional fence-rider.
If he sides with Israel, he'll piss off the antisemites. If he sides with Palestine, he'll piss off evangelicals. So, he doesn't care enough to do basic research, because it would hurt his income
Imagine thinking Tim pools fans have a problem with antisemitism. They're proudly pissed he didn't say "fuck zionazis gas Israel!"
All of these “debates” w/ people on the left are similar and evident of Timmy’s approach. He doesn’t prepare for his show w/ any real knowledge of issues and when he has guests on it’s the same. Anecdote, distract and quickly move on.
It's typical of how right wingers think - they confuse being able to shout peope down, being obtuse and stubborn with winning an argument based with having logic, facts, truth and science to support a position.
