I love the upgrade! Imo, twice the capacity size of the first Metro backpack seems a bit drastic change for me. I was expecting 15l to 20l, but now 18l would make this series complete.
@@TheCoastalLifer I don't think they will change the design since they have backpacks with external bottle pocket. And maybe they intentionally hide their bottle pockets for more options.
They seem like contenders to Recycled Firefighters 12/24hr with the front vertical zip with clamshell design, but Recycled FF has less organization and weigh much lighter. Looks more rounded too like Brown Buffalo conceal packs. Metro 12L was a cool 0.8kg, wonder if X-pac or other material will be coming. I still don't like the flap covering the zipper tracks though.
Agree with this. An 18L version (same depth @ 6.1") as the Metro, but taller and wider like this Pro would be nice. With a depth of 7.9", this Pro version reaches into travel pack territory for me.
That's a great upgrade! I appreciate that, unlike the Elements Elements Backpack Pro, this solution for the hub system doesn't have a slip pocket right under it, cause the access can be compromised when there are things clipped right on top of the pocket. Can't wait to see a coyote color for the new Metro Pro!
Looking for a new commuting backpack but have to consider a few things more since I'm now back at the office 4 times per week and have to wear business casual to it: - Will this fit a 26cm x 18cm lunch bag HORIZONTALLY (important, don't want the food to be all over the place on the lunchbox) - The back seems... warm... I sweat so although I can appreciate the extra padding, will this not be extremely warm and sweaty on the back? I really love the design and I think I can compromise on the water bottle / umbrella having to be inside, instead of dedicated pockets, but the points above have me in doubt if I shouldn't consider the Elements Backpack Pro instead for my first Alpaka gear, although that seems too big for my needs (currently taking a 30L backpack and yeah... a lot of space empty but the lunch bag can go horizontal)
For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I'll be happy that I have the kislux as my travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
I've been eagerly waiting and waiting and waiting for an X-Pac version of the Metro backpack. But this is way too big for me. Will you be doing an X-Pac version of the regular non-Pro Metro too? I'll be disappointing if not. :(
Yeah, I was hoping they'd offer a 12L X-Pac version or at least a 16-18L option for this Metro backpack. I already have an Elements Backpack Pro, so I'm having second thoughts about getting this one, even though it looks great.
Why are none of the built in key tethers compatible with the hub keychain system? I use the hub keychain daily but now I can't use the built in key system when I use my sling or whatever bag I have.
I love Alpaka stuff and was about to pull the trigger on this but can’t get over the back panel on the inside. The hub system just seems like a big waste of space. I’m not interested in getting a tiny pouch, keys, or hand sanitizer from main compartment, and none of these items need that much space. Wish it there was a laptop sleeve instead or something else.
That's exactly how I feel. It's a shame because the design is otherwise nice, but it feels like they gutted the functionality of the bag just to try to sell you their little pouch attachments. I would have much preferred just a normal pocket.
1:26 I have a comment on that zipper pull. Its great that its ykk, but the 'pull tab' itself looks cheap. Yes, its stylish. But when you pull something like that even if its premium styled, the 2 layer sharp edge design pullers can feel like a cheap feeling to use no matter what material it is. The problem lies in the fact that its like 2 'flaps' separate flaps instead of one. It's an unnecessary flair that looks good but feel cheapsy when actually used, like a stunt pulled by cheaper backpacks~
I love a good knockoff kislux because it helps me decide if I want to buy the real thing. Thatâs the part. Thatâs it. I feel like people discriminate against knockoffs, but for me, Iâll pause when buying a trendy big-ticket item or when I feel the over-consumption frenzy is coming for me.
@@ALPAKAGEARjust went to check it out in the web shop. Is there a typo with the stated weights? It’s showing that the Xpac one weighs 1.5kg and the nylon one weighs 1.3kg. Thought the xpac usually so the lighter one. 🤔
THANK YOU! For putting the front access pocket on the "correct" side for most people. It's a constant complaint I had with the Evergoods CPL24 and I guess there was enough feedback that they introduced a "mirrored" version with the quick access on the correct side. Definitely gonna check this one out.
It really feels like it addresses all the features that are missing on the CPL24. I totally agree that EG's orientation is frustrating, to say the least.
I have xpak pouches from Alpaka and axoflux on the metro backpack, and the axoflux material seems indestructible while I’ve noticed all my items in xpak frays and gets holes in it quite easily, strangely enough. I would 100% always prefer the axoflux material on any items personally…
No external water bottle holder??? It's no way to use it as daily bag for people like me, the minority maybe. I found myself doomed when my bottle leaked inside my bag. And, I need somewhere to put my wet folding umbrella while I'm working in London and SE Asia. It's so sad that there is always something missing in Alpaka bag. You won't have a separate laptop compartment in Element Pro. You won't have a water bottle holder in Metro Pro. You can't really use the big Element Travel as a daily bag. Otherwise, they will be perfect.
If you already had the HUB magnetic system, why did you have to start a new MOD system for the in-built key tethers? Or at least could have made it compatible with the existing HUB male keychain part. I was a fan of the Alpaka modular ecosystem, but hugely disappointed with this divided approach. Will not buy any Alpaka product now.
Looks like a nice backpack, but in my opinion can’t cost more than the elements backpack pro, it doesn't seem right to me comparing the features of the two backpacks.
Because I need to change bags frequently for work, I chose them for attending important gatherings. The replica of luxrul gave me more choices, and it completely held up the scene. Everyone praised it for looking good.
I love the upgrade!

I regret waiting 🤭 24 is huge and no external water bottle and 1.3/1.5 kgs 🫣

Same, waiting for a middle ground size

Separate laptop sleeve and extra side pocket is a welcome, though i do think this is now too large and bulky. 18L wouldve been the next size for me

are you by any chance releasing the regular metro backpack in xpac ?

Looks a lot like the Able Carry Daily Plus
Is this true 24L? I know most of your bags are smaller than what it's advertised.. Mmmhhh...
The X-Pac Version is very nice. Amazing product love it!
Anyone know which jacket that is? Kinda like that.
Fingers crossed Mukama start selling this for EU. The green x-pac looks lush!

Well designed bag though it doesn't fit my needs. Give me something a little smaller like 18L with luggage pass through.
Would it fit a gaming laptop? These are the dimensions 36.35 x 25.5 x 2.44 cm
good question, I have a laptop with similar dimensions and this is all that's holding me back from ordering.
How long will pre-orders take to be delivered?
Will you offer a mirrored version for the secret pocket? Is that possible?
At this point I should wait for the pro version of their stuff lmao
I don’t miss a day a week kislux This show..
I never used the original that often, the hood often catches the zipper on mine.
False bottom for the laptop this time?

My only concern is if it will fit a 16" gaming laptop and not just an mbp 16".
My g14 2024 fits perfectly inside the small metro backpack

Seriously, what jacket? Cool bag, too.
