Dear God... It just hit me that this guy, Harry, was the one who was copied into DUNBAT ranting about the whole thing being Catherine's fault. Remember? They cut off the monologue in half, but the continuation of that possible line alligns perfectly with that of the things DUNBAT had said. This isn't gold; it's fucking pure diamond!
@@NuevoExistence Yes I know what the DUNBAT is; it said "I can't take this! I can't take this! I can't take this! Catherine, this is all your fault! This is all your fault!"
Got to give it to Frictional, this is the first time i've ever experienced something that wasn't scary because of the monsters but because of the story and the implications and meaning you find within it. GOTY candidate in my books and I hate scary games.
+lgeass88 Well said. Things could, however, have turned less horrifying if done ethically. If the mind upload tech was instead directly designed by humans (instead of being halfway finished by a very alien AI) the implications could have been very appealing. That said, however, I'd be more in favor of humanity using biotech to enhance itself than just entirely replacing ourselves with uploads; though said people could fare better in exploring/colonizing the rest of the solar system. P.S. What do you think if the scifi horror game called " Eclipse Phase? ""
+Asa Holmes Only slightly less funny than "Fucking Engineers. A wrench? A fucking wrench?!" You get a very strong vibe of "I'm surrounded by idiots" from that line.
I just finished SOMA yesterday and I would like to thank Frictional for yet another amazing game. I liked it even better than the original Amnesia, the story was spectacular and the atmosphere was great. Had a few moments where I had to pause, close my eyes and take a deep breath just so I wouldn't piss my pants. 9/10.
Suddenly the "this whole thing's amazing!" thing from the previous ARG makes sense. He thought he was on the ARK the whole time, like Robin Bass did. :C What a shitty end for poor ol' Harry V2. "I was safe, that was the whole point!" and his panicked realization that he's not on the ARK but at Lambda...very, very sad.
DarklordDaUnicorn DaThird Basically, an extremely horrifying realization. I'd explain in detail, but that would be massive spoilers for a masterpiece of a game.
Skyrim is like the worst game I ever played, sadly I played it through the end, LOST final episode was all in all less disappointing than the skyrim experience

As freaky and disturbing horror/sci-fi mashups go, this was pretty freakin awesome. Seriously messed with my head for a min. I would love to see this be a feature length piece, and I also liked getting to see some of the actors from other series in more serious roles.
it's literally and already Soma the movie. it would be hard to represents the game story even in a high budget film, with the protagonist in the bodies of ladies with a robot head , chased by mutated creatures and robots
Oh come on, how did you not add metallic footsteps? I don't think there was a single station in the game with a concrete floor. Either way, really cool episode, looking forward to more!
+Konstantine Rymaruk There was at least three areas on Pathos-2 that you can't visit (Pathos-2 is shaped like a Y and you only go down one of the paths/'stalks'), so it's possible this takes place in one of those areas that are unseen in game.
This game is hilariously underrated. Yeah, Amnesia is great, but so is SOMA. I'd go as far as say I enjoyed SOMA more because the story is deeper and makes you heavily question your actions, or what being "human" means. Definitely a 10/10 in my book.
Thank you for expanding your wonderful game. I have just finished it and badly wanted more background story and guess what? I stumbled upon this! Thank you!
If anyone wants to know, these are the actors who are in Journeyquest from (now) Zombie Orpheus Entertainment. The Gamers: Dorkness Rising and Gamers: Hand of Fate and some others are under their belt, I highly suggest looking them up.
Some is on my top list for the horror genre. Its so well done and everything is so well balanced. It was kind of sad that i finished it. I feel like i wanted to stay a little longer. Hope there will be some similar game coming out of this as i really like the premise. The setting under water is not that much explored in gaming. Lot of potential there. Thanks for making this game.
If you are not ALREADY playing this game, do yourself a favor - get moving. Pick it up. It's a thing of beauty you wont regret downloading - won't delve too much to avoid Spoilers. Even good for several playthroughs, just to try approaching things differently. Palpable tension, high-minded interactivity, superbly immersive atmospheres. 10/10.
If I was in their position, I would've dedicated my remaining time on this plane of existence raiding the medical supplies and hosting wild orgies. If it really is the end, might as well go out with a proverbial, though all too fitting in this case, bang.
oh man we finally get to see all the vids from that AR website before the game came out, can't wait until i can afford to play this. Took forever to figure out the puzzles and working with others.
+Atwa Director Don Thacker (did all the SOMA teasers) is working on his very own game, Star Mazer. So, yeah, this could be a bit much, workaholic or not. You can watch his feature flick "Motivational Growth" (gog or Steam).
In "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan", they had similar signs at Starfleet Academy, and that was in the 23rd Century. Heck, we still use the wheel, and that's ancient technology.
Funny thing is that we used to use red exit signs for a long time and then it changed slowly over time. It seems, based on some quick reading I did, that it is likely that the real-world will be slowly transitioning to a green pictogram style for exit signs.

WHY ARE WE NOT FUNDING THIS?!
+Syko JUST DO IT
+Syko because the cinematography and the script is already bad from this video. needs a lot of work as well as the acting. interesting concept tho
siegeh25 YOU!
GET OUT!
Syko sorry champ, but when you're learning film making you tend to notice these things
siegeh25 well this is a minisode series... if they actually made a movie it would've looked much better

I'm literally jiz*ing my pants. You guys should start a kickstarter to turn soma into a movie.
+Davide Pannone Literally? That's literally gross.
The excitment man... the excitement. Hahaha, cheers
For real? Great news
Already is a Movie in the works called Soma Depth.
H5 really?
Clearly, you can make an indie movie with soma. Your actors are pretty good. You did a good job... can't wait to see the next episode ;)
Bonjour toi.
it technically took place before the rest of the game events
SOMA is a fantastic story, truly thought provoking and terrifying.
As freaky and disturbing horror/sci-fi mashups go, this was pretty freakin awesome. Seriously messed with my head for a min. I would love to see this be a feature length piece, and I also liked getting to see some of the actors from other series in more serious roles.
not likely.
YES, FINALLY we are going to see all the transmissions! Loved your game Frictional. Simply AMAZING.
a soma movie would be awesome
Totally agree
Already, maybe, in the works. Depth.
But it would make it hard to encapsulate the feel of the game.
I think an animated film would be pretty cool, personally.
it's literally and already Soma the movie. it would be hard to represents the game story even in a high budget film, with the protagonist in the bodies of ladies with a robot head , chased by mutated creatures and robots
Great! :D

This game should have recieved more marketing, it is A FREAKING MASTER PIECE !!!!
I had no idea of this series existence. So PSYCHED to watch this. Thanks so much !
Just finished Soma for the first time last night and can’t get it out of my head!
The short haired lady's first three lines were just "Yeah" and it was throwing me off lol
I've tried rewinding a few times but I can't figure out what she says at 4:33
Any guesses?
Perhaps she whispered "...it'll be fine...", like inaudible. Not good sound at all.
+ProdCharles "It will be fine... how's the goddamn UH2 Adam?"
Thanks for the responses, but it looks like she's speaking before that line. Perhaps she just isn't saying anything or it was edited out.
+ProdCharles Or she could of just you know, sighted, since it's a lost hope, etc...
+ProdCharles Her lips just move and she says nothing before the next line.
I love these videos so much. It was a such a great game.
Oh man! This is awesome! So most of the previous teasers (like /SOMA/archive/615b.U/ structuregel.vid) were a part of this all along, right?
+MaxOfS2D They wanted to make movie called "DEPTH". I think probably they weren't successful in fulfilling this goal.
Amazing acting. Thanks you guys for doing this!
This guy could play Daniel from Amnesia
+Syriusz666 uhh what?
i meant that this guy in black hair could play as a Daniel from Amnesia,he looks similarly to one of the artwork of him

ahh ok. I thought you were talking about if daniel was inside one of those robots.

I thought the Harry Halperin robot guy was voiced by Cryaotic for sure. it sounds so much like him! Am I the only one..?
They need to make a movie out of this
Came back to these as I watched JonTron's review of Dark Dungeons and spotted Trin Miller (Imogen Reed) playing a background character!

Soma should be made into a Netflix Series or a Film
