Sad to say the ones suffering most are the ordinary citizens. Also this is not something new. War has been on for thousands of years globally. Greatly appreciated for adding the English Subtitles.

Thank you for the English subtitles. ps - the boat scene toward the end of the movie ripped my heart out as we all have seen such events taking place repeatedly during the 20th and 21st centuries. I've had the experience to meet with a few people who survived similar ordeals as they fled with nothing more than the clothes they wore. I pray people learn to live together in peace and harmony
An absolute incredible film. I've recommended my family and friends to watch. Although I had read the political history of the struggles of China during the Occupationand the war between National and Communist parties this pared everything down to the intimate human level. Humbly thank those in the film especially the brilliant children actors.
Yes indeed, the children actors were particularly brilliant in a particularly brilliant film. I noted the quality of the performances during the film and wondered 'how did they make her do that so well?' for both the brothers and the sisters.🤩
why is there NO SOUND TRACK for the last three or four short but essential scenes? Is that RUclips's failure or Jetsen Film's? Cheap pyrotechnics, whichever of you is the guilty party.

那个苦命的年代，全世界的百姓都经历着苦难，我们不能再回到那个愚昧的年代，听妈妈讲过炮弹落在家里的后院，多亏是个哑弹，家里的大黄狗几天后从外面跑回来嘴里叼着一颗战死士兵的头，这一幕幕就好像电影一样留在我的脑海里。老一代人经历了战火，希望世界和平。没有战争才是给百姓最大的权利，生存权。
国家强大，有解放军的守护，我们普通老百姓才能安居乐业，作为国人要自觉维护国家利益，与国家立场保持一致，有国才有家，覆巢之下安有完卵
