Man, the motorcyclists' clothing is slippery so that in an accident on the road it won't tear, so the motorcyclist won't suffer, so they could even drive 50, but the slippery surface and the clothing that slides on the road surface causes what is seen in the film, i.e. a ride like on a water slide
For everyone judging the rider, he was only doing about 40mph. But a puddle caused hydroplaning (which is why they slid so far) and caused him to fall. It only take less than inch of water to make most lightweight things slide. And that puddle would’ve been nearly invisible in the rain.
They seem to be wearing full gear both of them, look at the padding at the girls shoulder. They could have gone sliding for an extra mile and wouldve been fine. Its the impact that hurts.
