    building muscle is what makes you unique from the rest of the obese and out of shape population. Look around almost everyone I see is out of shape. that's why people see these muscular guys people can't help but stare since they are so unique to the population. not to mention building muscle displays a great personality traits such as hard work and dedication.

  • @misterprickly

    This reminds me of a question we asked ourselves in college.
    "Can boobs be *too big*?"
    My class actually gave this some serious thought.
    Some of the guys asked found overly large breasts (DD or more) to be, not only, too big but a turn off.
    Of women asked we found that though larger girls did get more *attention*; women between a B to a C-cup got more dates.
    What do you think?
    Do you find breast size *that important*?

    • @misterprickly
      @misterprickly 8 лет назад

      E.W.E. Hughes Jr Very true.

    • @weiya
      @weiya 8 лет назад +4

      DDs aren't even big to me...size is relative. To me JJs and larger are too big and Ds and smaller too small. It depends who you're asking to, me personally I never approach averagely built girls (skinny, average, fat) with average proportionated curves. It's down to preference, to me a C-Cup is a deal-breaker.

    • @misterprickly
      @misterprickly 8 лет назад +3

      weiya Just remember that size doesn't equal quality.
      The size of the breast doesn't equal the personality of the woman.
      Don't throw away a perfectly good relationship because of size.

    • @weiya
      @weiya 8 лет назад +2

      Misterprickly That's the most important thing to me too, I wouldn't date a girl who is boring and badly mannered regardless of looks (that includes everything about her physically, not just one bodypart), Looks are there to attract me so I make the move to approach her and the rest is about beeing smart, funny, witty, charismatic and caring to me aswell as overall chemistry and compatibility.

    I recently started lifting heavier weights than I always did and can see myself bulk up. I have seen more women that give me a second look, smile at me and some times even wave at me. Last night I hooked up with a girl and she complimented my muscles. I read this book many years ago which said Just like men are attracted to big boobs; women are attracted to big biceps(muscles in general); but obviously there is a limit. If her boobs are too big, that is not attractive.

  • @balthorpayne

    She assumed, like many people seem to do, that someone in good condition will be in the gym all the time. Being ripped is more about diet. You only need put in an hour 4-5 days a week to get good results. Once again, people who don't take care of themselves never understand that.

  • @coolbrotherf127

  • @shorts26

    I think women don't want to admit they like a lot of muscles on men because they know that a more muscular man means more competition from women. They don't want to have to deal with all of the female attention he gets...same if a man was with a super hot woman

      huemanatee they like a whole lot of tone more than they like steroid size but overall they like it and feel protected. I've seen how even the most reserved women react to men with any muscle, and the more the more they are turned on and licking their lips. .I've seen this and even more proof women find this sexy is how popular male strip clubs are and what women do to these strippers in there. They will cheat on their boyfriends with these types of men

      The fear is that the passion for bodybuilding will leave little room for other passions - precisely because of the amount of time and hard work it takes. Matt Crunk I have never heard women talk about like candy, I know cause I am a fat guy and nobody is lining up to taste this blubber, but I guess it all depends on where you are, how you were raised, from and your culture. So yeah, I know couples that the man is big or fat and the woman loves him for his personality and not his body, but not the other way around. Maybe the melting pot and collective mind of the Internet can provide an answer.

    I'm 6' 4" and 290lbs, and have a generally natural large build. I used to weight train a lot in my early 20's and was very muscular which was great for attracting one night stands but hardly any women who were interested in longer term relationships. I gotta say though that now i'm older (mid to late 30's) and loosing a little muscle for flab (which still leaves me toned but cuddly) that I definitely found it easier finding women who are more wanting a longer term relationship. My current girlfriend describes me as 'big and strong but cuddly', so yeah your right, looking like I might be less aggressive but still strong and able to protect her has definitely improved things.

      moonlily1 You know why they gross you out?
      Because they have pushed their bodies above human limitations.
      By using steroids.
      You know a natural guy can never reach a body such as these two, because of this limit?
      The same goes for girls, if you practice alot of musculation, you will never look muscular like female bodybuilder(unless you take steroid or testosterone) because our bodies are naturaly limited in terms of muscles gains.
      The maximum limitation for men is "lean muscle".
      For alot of men (inclued me) in musculation simeon panda has the best physique, god-like.

    I think it's a misunderstanding that muscular men spend all their time working out and have to spare time for a relationship. Most men who are muscular and bodybuild as a hobby probably don't spend more than 10 hours a week on it which really isn't all that much. It isn't as if you neglect your girlfriend by spending an hour or two a day away from her.

      that is a big stereotype which is a pretty good subject to talk on, yes a lot of people do fall in 'love' with their own body when they trasnform their body for the good..
      personally i was 6'2 i was also a very skinny guy when i was 16 (weighed 55kg/121 pounds)
      four years later of gym im now weighing 90K(198 pounds) of 12bodyfat percentage, so my body is mostly muscle, i have never uderstood the narcissim, but I gained a lot of confidence and courage, i feel like im the center of attention and that im in control when i walk in a room

  • @rikachiu
    @rikachiu 10 лет назад +16

    I thought women like men who are ambitious and passionate with their goals? I don't bodybuild to get laid; does not even cross my mind. When I enter the gym, it is my sanctuary. I have one purpose and one goal in mind to achieve my dreams of one day stepping on that Mr. Olympia stage. However, when I am outside, I can hold intellectual conversations with the best of them. I enjoy everything and anything fun. I care deeply about the people whom I befriend and of course my family. I love children and wish to have my own some day as well. I am still in my early 20's (and growing even more) and I truly hope this is not how most women view overly muscular men :(.
    BTW, most bodybuilders worth a grain of salt or that do compete (since she referenced Arnold), are the nicest people you will ever meet. Down to earth and extremely humble. Sometimes too humble and modest. We are always seeking to improve and never think we are good enough nor do we believe we are better than anyone else. We respect hard work, good work ethic, and dedication. Complete opposites of the aggressive type. Also the most intelligent because it is a science (no, not 'bro' science) when perfecting proper nutrition and training regimens.

    • @xavierlittle
      @xavierlittle 9 лет назад

      Bodybuilders that compete are NOT humble at all...The expression "Do you even lift" is a passive aggressive insult towards people who train naturally. Seriously I see people that use steroids call natural guys that are ripped small because they will obviously never be as big as them. Like brad pitt from fight club..."he's not that big"

    • @rikachiu
      @rikachiu 9 лет назад +3

      Assumptions and extreme caricature of what a bodybuilder is. When was the last time you entered backstage at any competition? Most of us are so drained leading up to show time to even speak a word. That expression was something I first heard of on the internet and usually by pimpled faced nerds hiding behind a computer screen. I also mentioned bodybuilders who are worth a grain of salt. I will commit the "No True Scotsman fallacy" here and say that a true bodybuilder is humble and modest. I have never met such camaraderie amongst a group of people anywhere else. We all live like monks and make incredible sacrifices in our own lives to succeed. I don't understand where your resentment comes from, but natural or not (I compete naturally), I get respect because I train hard as hell. Anybody who belittles someone because they don't use drugs is a moron and probably look like absolute shit themselves. At the end of the day, how you look on stage is what matters. The judges don't know how much you lift, how you looked 2 weeks out, what types of drugs you took, or what you did to get there.
      Comparing Brad Pitt to a bodybuilder is also redundant. Size is relative. Size isn't everything either. Bodybuilding is about overall symmetry and proportions. Conditioning and presentation too. There is such a thing as too big which throws the entire physique off. It's all an illusion. Please educate yourself further on the sport and the people who actually are passionate about the field before you make stereotypical assumptions that make the rest of us look bad for no reasons at all. Just because the ones you have met are assholes, does not mean all of us are.
      www.cracked.com/blog/6-myths-about-body-builders-that-are-total-bs/

    • @xavierlittle
      @xavierlittle 9 лет назад

      Look man, I'm not resenting anyone. I have a lot of respect for bodybuilders unlike most of the public that think steroids will make you ripped with no hard work.
      It's funny that you would ask me when was the last time I went backstage. It was just a few months ago. (my half brother competes). You are right about there being camaraderie among fellow bodybuilders. However they are not humble. You have the enhanced dudes makin fun of smaller guys in the gym or natties so proudly proclaiming how natural they are and how much better they are cause of it. Sooooooo annoying.
      I know of the sacrifices. It's larger than most sports. My brother spends a significant amount of his time and money on the bodybuilding. The dedication that bodybuilders have is what most people can only dream of. That is what I respect the most, their dedication. Most people think they can do what bodybuilders do yet most people have also given up. They give up with an excuse so they don't feel bad about their failure. " I don't have the time to set aside an hour per day to train" Then the next thing you know they are on a breaking bad marathon.
      Anyone that has made a good physique has the right to be arrogant. They literally are better than most people. Arrogance comes with success much in the same way that people that have a lot of money have proven to society that they are successful and are everything but humble.
      "Please educate yourself further on the sport and the people who actually are passionate about the field before you make stereotypical assumptions that make the rest of us look bad for no reasons at all"
      I am probably more educated than 99% of the population on this topic.
      "Bodybuilding is about overall symmetry and proportions. Conditioning and presentation too."
      This is true. Arnold is my biggest hero and he looked better than most modern bodybuilders in my opinion. However I want to use my brother as an example because I am most familiar with his stats . He is 6ft 1in and 255 pounds. He is too big and thinks bigger is better like most modern steroid users. Here is a quote from Arnold:
      " I love swimming and have been doing it for almost daily for the last 15 years. swimming is one of those activities that force you to use your muscles in such a way that they flow together and make your body work as a total, integrated unit. " I think His ability to function more fluidly on stage may have given him the edge in some of his matches, especially against Sergio Oliva.

    Shes right about the bell curve. If you sit on the top of the curve it unconsciously says to us girls that "okay this guy is fit, and he takes care of his body." While skinny guys tell our brains "he isnt taking care of his body so he wont out effort into a relationship" and guys with too much muscle tell us "okay this guy must be obsessed with his looks and spends more time at the gym than anything else." So i guess she is pretty spot on.

    Would you be able to do a video on height? Im a rather short guy, 5,3. My whole life girls have been telling me that I'm to short for them. As you can imagine hearing that gets very old, and is very discouraging. Ive even had girls I'm taller than tell me I'm to short….Im sure on the opposite spectrum very tall women have a similar issue with men. Any idea why height is so important to people? Also, Any advice on finding people who aren't bothered by height?

    • @TopSchotter
      @TopSchotter 10 лет назад +4

      Cristen I'm 100% in agreement with crashdown903p! Please try and do a video about how height correlates with attractiveness. I'm a 5'7" male, which is average height but most ladies do tell me my height is a sub-par quality when considering me for a romantic relationship. I once heard Maxim model April Rose say in an MTV Guy Code podcast that if a man is considered wealthy then she can forgive him for being some inches shorter than her optimal desired height. That type of thinking was also supported by a female friend of mine so I feel like you have some good material to do a show on this topic.

    • @firefighterE134
      @firefighterE134 10 лет назад +2

      I have the same issue, I'm 5,4. Ive had a few girls tell me to my face I'm to short. But more often I will ask a girl out and later here from friends that she wasn't interested because of my height. Height doesn't matter to me. I don't care if a girls 6 ft +. Ive also noticed height doesn't just come into play with dating. I feel people don't take me serious a lot of the time due to my height. In our culture seems tall = strong and short = weak. Im a Firefighter and often get told I'm to short for that occupation .

    • @firefighterE134
      @firefighterE134 10 лет назад +2

      C. Phillip I saw that interview too. When I hear people talk like that I find it very hurtful. But when girls say things like that no one seems to think anything of it. A few years ago a female friend of mine was describing her perfect man. and she said "oh and he has to be tall"…. I find it funny because if a guy was doing the same and said "Oh and she better not be fat" everyone would get upset at him….. People can't control their height why do people look down on short people so much. Especially short men.

Im frequently ignored my ground crews, firefighters, Docs and nurses. Ill roll into the trauma bay with a patient and its a serious struggle to get the nurses and docs to listen to me when giving report. I really think its because I'm short. One thing that does get me is that women will say they don't like "really muscular guys", but then point out a guy like Isaiah Mustafah like she did, who definitely is what I'd call "muscular". He's not a bodybuilder or juiced up, but he's certainly not an average (American) guy's physique at all. He probably works out more than 3 times a week to look that way, and follows a pretty specific diet. So I've always felt that women do like muscular guys, just guys who are muscular within the limits of human achievement, without roids and other enhancements.

    • @ShyMusicPanda
      @ShyMusicPanda 10 лет назад +2

      I remember reading a study on this somewhere (wish I had a link) but basically women optimally prefer a guy who's 2 inches shorter or so up to a foot taller. So it's more that there's more chance for a taller guy. But, having said that I think guys with dwarfism are super dateable and I should imagine that if I was a tall lady (instead of a short one) I would maybe like very short guys because extremes can be really attractive too. Hope that helps!

    Me all throughout high school was chubby and not athletic. 0 girlfriends and generally unnoticed by women in general
    Spent one summer working out every day. Got down to about 10% body fat. More tone/muscle and I grew a few inches.
    Came back to school and noticed some girls starring at me in the halls (Was really freaked out by this)
    Had girls randomly come up to me sometimes acting super friendly and laughing really strangely sometimes when I didn't even make a joke.
    Actually had a girl ask me out lol
    Got my first gf and am living very happily rn
    So yeah...I'd say musles kinda help...

    for those declaring 'women don't know what they want'- women are not a homogenous group, different women like different things and being a woman doesn't suddenly mean you don't know yourself and your preferences. Oddly enough everyone (including women) is a unique human being. Think it through.

    I find big muscles something threatening (and just ugly). It tells me that this guy is at the gym 4 nights a week and therefor doesn't have enough time for me, and cares a little too much about his appearence. And how can i watch a movie with my boyfriend and crawl up against him when his body is made of hard muscles? I need some layer of fat as a pillow.

      Paulo Massarde From another straight man(sorry about that), you have a really good physique, but it might be slightly on the "too much" side of the bell curve. But you are definitely on the top somewhere.
      Personally, I would start maintaining instead of gaining at that point, unless you are into bodybuilder competitions or really want to become stronger even if it might become too much muscle. It probably doesn't matter a lot anyway since women would still prefer too much over too little.

    If you are a man watching this, ask yourself this: Are you attracted to this woman? Her gestures, voice, accent, style, vocabulary, culture, and attitude? If yes, maybe listen to what you she is saying. As for me, I think she is not the kind of woman I am attracted to, and her views are pretty culture-bound. Secondly, if you are attracted to muscular women (athletes, fit women) or women who are used to dating guys who workout (lots of stereo-typically "hot" girls fall into this category) then I wouldn't listen to her. Finally, I think she kind of showed her hand when she said she doesn't like being at the gym.

      Mayank Thakur You don't think it's a bit awkward to ask a complete stranger that? My personal preference towards the male physique is simply toned. Most of the men in my life look fine to me when they aren't toned, even. I think if a person wants to build more muscle, it should be a personal choice. Not something based on what others want you to look like. While looks matter, they aren't the heart of anything. But that's just me. :)

    Of course there is such thing as too much muscles. Bodybuilders are disgusting. I'd much rather have a slim to slightly toned guy than a massive bodybuilder. Runners, soccer players, swimmers, etc those guys have the best body types. Bodybuilders, wrestlers, large football players...those are just gross.

    Chris Hemsworth as Thor is probably around the extent of what I find attractive. Amazing body (in my opinion, of course), but I don't really like much more than that. I tend to find body builders INCREDIBLY unattractive, everything just seems overly exaggerated, and at it's extreme, even grotesque. I prefer a more natural and balanced look.
    I just went and looked at some of Arnolds old pictures. In some of them, his body seems entirely out of proportion. Like different pictures were shopped together. It just isn't appealing to me.
    Please note, I am not saying anything negative about body building, or being very muscular (more power to you, if that's what you enjoy!). I am only stating what *I* find physically attractive. I can't change what I find attractive, it is simply how I feel.

    I personally don't find fitness overly attractive, but I think it's because I myself am not exactly fit (I'm the national average size 14) and I don't want to be with someone who has different ideals body health. I.e. someone who may judge me for enjoying a cookie and not wanting to spend three hours at the gym to make up for it.
