So true! I mentioned this early on to several friends so they could ask me later. Gave me that extra motivation to stick with it.

Sometimes I end up conversing with myself on long runs, and I'll mouth my thoughts (looks like I'm talking to imaginary people) and passersby will look at me like I've done lost it.

Jason do you think that runners that barely hit their 3rd year running are considered still “rookies”?

Tough to say (this is all relative). Also it depends on how much you learn / progress in those 3 years!

      @@JasonFitzgerald I see.
Do you think having 30 ultras in those 3 years (10 ultras a year), is too much and not wise? And could get you injured a lot faster?

@@Ultrarunner41 Yes, that sounds like a race schedule that will put you at an increased injury risk and not the most effective way of becoming the best runner you could be

@@JasonFitzgerald that’s what I thought. I’m asking because I know you are an actual professional runner.
I was devating with some dude. I told him that running 10 ultras a year and only been running for barely 3 years, was not wise, unnecessary, and that in my opinion he was still a rookie in the ultra running sport. I also said that not even elite/professional runners run that many ultras because they know better.
He didn’t like that at all. 😂
