What a true professional this man is!
honestly your brilliant at explaining it simply yet structured manner, I find some new instructors are too laid back and don't honestly tell a student what they are doing wrong and how to avoid doing so again. sad to say my instructor is like that but I passed 1st time threw all his teaching out the window and remembered your tips and it paid off, more instructors like you are seriously needed!

, thank you to Leonards driving school in County limerick your mother best woman in Ireland I'm here nearly twenty years, your woman gave me a video best advice also mentioned that my observations are okay in 2005 year, long ago so had lessons in UK and drive automatic very good and also the manual Mrs Leonards mentioned not attempt driving under anxiety pressure and number two get a good vehicle can be second has hand and get lesions in that, as every one as to do this soon enough, also in my time as a youth guys, I past my cycling proficiency test at age fourteen in1978 with an instructor who supported human rights in high way code, also I past first time on this at nineteenth of June, in 1978

When i did my 1st mock test my driving style changed because of the pressure i still past with 6 minors but i did stupid things like trying to move off in neutral and forgetting to go down a gear when approaching a junction.
Test tomorrow I'm a bit scared but I know everything. Just need to have a good brekky and breathe
My test fairly soon hope i can keep calm its my nerves that mess me up. I did a mock recently and all was well until i thought i had messed up cos i took the wrong exit twice. My instructor said wouldnt have even been a minor as i moved over safetly

My son passed first time last week. No roundabouts, no hill starts, no parking. He just drove then reversed into a bay at the test centre...?

the examiner will try and cover as many types of roads and roundabouts as possible. I am sure the test would of covered some roundabouts. Sounds like the manoeuvre was done at the test centre. Your son should get his new license within 3 weeks.

how many driving/serious/dangerous faults result in a fail? thanks, you have great videos.
+Dan Hyde one serious or one dangerous fault on the UK driving test would mean a failed test. You are allowed up to and including 15 minor driver faults as long as you don't get too many on one thing. Example would be if you fail say 4 times moving off then that would end up becoming a serious fault
When you approaching a t-junction for example and you driving on 3rd gear should you change for 2nd and 1st if u have to stop or you braking slowly with your foot on clutch and then go from 3rd to 1sr? What's the correct way to do it
+Luis Andrade I would approach it in 2nd and if it's clear, go, if it's not, giveaway and pop it in 1st to move off.

Failed James 😭 2 minors and one serious which my instructor said should of been a minor. I was told to take the next right and missed my exit I told the examiner and he said not to worry and take the next right he gave me a serious 😥 I wasn't even nervous James all your videos really helped me. You could be looking down in front of the car. Try looking further up the road.

my instructer said when I overtake parked(hazard warning lights) vehicles I don't have to indicate?

Take a couple of days to get over the disappointment. Then read through the report. Make a plan to work on the errors. Say this to your self, did I fail because of test nerves or was the driving up to the standard. If it was nerves then you probably made a silly mistake, if you were not up to standard then you will need more driving. Hope my advice makes sense. Good luck.
I was fine to start of with then the nerves kicked in. I made stupid mistakes like not checking blind spot and speeding .. what would u recommend to calm the nerves?
Try doing some mock tests that will help. Also ask your instructor to put you under pressure on your lessons. If you can cope with them both it will help you cope with nerves. If you make a mistake on test, just focus on what to do next, you cannot change what has happened,

If I'm in a right only lane to turn right, is it necessary to still signal right? And if I fail to do so, would this a minor or major/serious? Just wondering as on my lesson today, I forgot to signal on a right only turn (I've never forgotten before!).
Connor Doherty a lot would depend on the right lane and weather it would confuse people by not signalling. As a rule it makes sense to signal to let others know where you are intending to go. Ask your instructor about the lane and area. It's like if you don't signal to exit a roundabout, that would be a minor fault on the record sheet.

Passed my first driving test with three driver faults yesterday, really appreciate all the kindness I was blessed with. So I am here to encourage all of you whos about to take your test. The examiners are not looking for a top-class professional driver, if you make a mistake that's okay, stay calm and correct after yourself. They really do understand, thank heavens for that. Afterall a good driver is a safe driver.

I've been watching a lot of you and other youtubers videos recently, about the driving test.
I don't remember exactly who it was but I think it was you who said something along the lines "Don't go into the exam thinking you're going to fail, go into it thinking you're going to get 100%, 0 minors, and to aim as high as possible so you'll only probably get about 3 minors."
The day before my driving test I went for a drive with my older sister, but she'd been at work all day before hand and we'd just visited a family member in hospital and understandably she was very tired and a bit cranky. During our lessons it showed a lot with her giving me late instructions and shouting at me a lot when I'd make mistakes or when she'd give me last minute directions.
By the end of the session I was mentally exhausted, i felt horrible, I just wanted to get away from behind the wheel as soon as possible, as soon as we got home I thought to myself there was no way I was going to pass my driving test. I watched a lot of videos that night but they just kept giving me tips i'd seen 100 times before and it wasn't calming me at all.
Then I saw your video that spoke about, do not go into the exam thinking you're going to fail, because most likely you would, and to instead aim to do the exam perfectly. That advice really really reaaally helped me and the next day (yesterday as of today) I took my driving test and passed first time with 5 minors.
Your videos literally passed my test, I'm honestly so grateful and your style of teaching is extremely helpful and calming, I would recommend anybody with test jitters to watch every single video on this channel.

Erica Always press the gas pedal a little before you release the clutch and after that gas the clutch until 15 mph then change gear, this is what I do. :)

Hi, I am happy they can help, keep watching and all the best on the driving test.
can you get faults for 1- using a turn signal at the end of a 1 way street or parking in a bay in an empty car park? 2- slowing down and passing closed junctions the same as open junctions. My driving instructor would tell me to speed up at open junctions and even when I couldnt see it was clear- he was telling me to go which seems rather unsafe. He also would tell me that I dont need to indicate when turning left from a 1 way street end- even though it felt wrong doing it. Does it hurt to to and will I get faults for using a turn signal when it is not needed (not in an unsafe manner but in the way that others know your intention it is just the habit of doing it)?
In the UK, you will need to inform drivers behind you and around you that you are turning left or right with a signal, even on a one way street, if you don't you will pick up a driver fault on the driving test.
At junctions, you will need to approach at a safe speed. If you can see clearly on both sides and its clear then still approach at a safe speed, approaching too fast could cause you to lose control of your car. It could be you are approaching a slow speed and your instructor is encouraging you to a safe speed. Good luck with your driving lessons.

Brilliant brilliant video. I have my test on wednesday. I did a mock driving test where I picked up 1 serious fault for observations at junctions where I did not look left coming off a roundabout and there was a que, pulled out in front of a van. I find myself often stopping at a give way and beginning to emerge and stopping again from something I missed. Also sometimes missing traffic signals especially filter arrows which could be serious for holding up traffic. Do you have any advice on getting out of these bad habits. thanks in advance and for such useful videos.
Glad you are enjoying the videos. A couple of things that could help. 1. Drive as per normal, don't try to change too much at this stage when your test is so close. 2. As you approach traffic lights or roundabouts, anticipate what could happen in the next 5 to 10 seconds, i.e. get ready for the lights to change as you are stopping, or expect a gap in the traffic at a busy roundabout. 3. If you are at a busy roundabout or emerging out of a busy junction, use your handbrake and get your feet and pedals ready to save time to get out. Hope these make sense. Good luck with the test.

Basically to pass your test is just check your mirrors. Drive speed limit and know how to parallel and reverse park lmao

1. Are you allowed to reverse with just one hand, while the other stays beside the passenger seat?

1. This is debatable on the situation and weather you are in complete control. If in doubt use both hands.
2. Wave hand if in control.
