Beautiful song by Asha ji. and very very beautiful dance by Kumkum. We can see fron Her face that She enjoys to dance sooo much.5********** Thanks Chamogaa ji for sharing.
Kum Kum( real name Mihrun Nisa) brings life to music by her superb dancing. Although a good actress in her own right, she did not get the recognition like Nimmi, etc got. Even though in my judgement she was a better actress then many. I wonder if this lovely lady is alive or has left the world with little funfare. I hope she is alive and enjoying her golden years in peace.
The mastery of the wizard Naushad Ali and the lyrics of Mohammed Shakeel Badayuni coupled with the sweet voice of Asha Ji, in this true classical tune cannot be surpassed. This is the finest example of a classical melody created with only with a few instruments. Only a handful music directors are capable of producing works of this calibre. Namely, Ghulam Mohammed with chalete chalete and Khwaja Khurshid Anwar with sun wanjli di mithri taan we by Noor Jehan. I have never heard a sitar tune such as this even by the so called masters like Ravi Shankar.Simply the best. Appreciated only by connoisseurs. God bless all.
One of the most beautiful songs of all time, Kum Kum is graceful as ever, matching the voice of Asha Bhonsle with her expressions and dance movements. There was no cheapness in those days, you could sit and watch with your parents and your kids without feeling embarrassed. Dilip Kumar is the greatest actor, his expressions and dialogue are so natural in this video clip.
Kum Kum looks very beautiful in this movie and her dance is very graceful. One can make out that she is thoroughly enjoying her dance movements. The whole atmosphere of the song is very mesmerizing
Such a marvellous package that KumKum presents: grace, beauty, exquisite dancing talent and most of all, that endearing voice, so charming it pulls you in so strongly! Where can you get any thing comparable today! God knows where is this lady now but wherever she is, may God give her peace and tranquility that her face defines so well. Thsanks for uploading this wonderfully enjoyable clip.
The delicious yet indirect ,vague dialogue between the adorable Kum Kum with her honeyed voice and the handsome DK is simply captivating (though neither side really "gets" what the other is trying to convey !).Then we get the gloriously thrilling and fluid dance by KK and the melodious song by Asha Bhonsle. " Mili hui cheez ko kyon mangte ho," says Kum Kum. Think about how the implications of this sentence glide past DK's mind. I have an insatiable appetite for this clip. Thanks, krhapa.
This lovely song superbly sung by Asha is the creation of Musical Genious Naushad. I have no words to praise the classic piece of sitar play in this evergreen song.
thank you for rating this clip.i noted your fond comments about the grace and beauty of kum kum on another channel.i tried to include as much dialogue as i could.
как великолепно устроена эта музыка! Как красива работа оператора и других создателей фильма! Какой прекрасный голос у Латы Мангешкар, исполнительни сцены великолепны оба
Kumkum's face and voice are epitome of peace and tranquility! Her graceful dancing and endearing composure completely wins you over in no time. May God give her long life so she can continue to shower such fragrance through ages. Most lovable personality indeed. Thanks for uploading this clip.
you have noticed the details very carefully ! very interesting ! i don't remember this song , may be it was less often heard on the radio as compared to others with this movie ! thank you for the detailed analysis ! and thanks to krhapa for this upload .
Is there any place with in the criteria of South East Asian India where we can find these types of Artists, unforgettable Lyrics and Music to remind ourselves, long ago we had all these BUT now only dreams left behind. Thanks to the hard working members of RUclips who collect these valuable jewelery and send us to enjoy. Thanks...
Very enjoyable performance, speaking as one from a territory with a rich and very diverse mix of cultures and heritages. I may say that I would certainly enjoy this (and other arts originating in India) if I could view it with fuller context clues, as e.g. translation of the lyrics, or even a summary of the context, or anything of that nature. Perhaps such an approach might even help some native-born Indians to more fully appreciate their rich artistic heritage! But... Alas! I speak no Hindi.
I dont think neither of them could match his abilities. Ashok Kumar and Sanjevee were good actors, but could not hold and carry the movie on their own. Can they do Ganga Jamuna, Mughal e Azam or Devadas or many others? No way. If any actor could match Dilip Kumar, it was only Naseeruddin Shah. The problem with him was that he was not a star looking. Ashok Kumar had even started to work with B actresses like Shyma. Dilip would never do that. After Deedar, Ashok Kumar accepted the side roles, since almost all the major and challenging roles were given to Dilip Kumar. For example, Naya Daur was offered to Ashok Kumar after being rejected by Dilip Kumar. Ashok called Dilip Kumar and advised him to accept the role. Dilip Kumar worked on the script and the rest is history. Show me one movie that I can remember Ashok Kumar as a landmark. Just one. He was highly respected. No doubt. But I cannot pick one movie that fraternity can remember. Actors will be judged and remembered by the choice of movies and their roles in it. Andaz, Aan, Amar, Madhumati, Mughal E Azam, Ganga Jamuna, Shikast, Devadas. A series of landmark movies.
Both the song and the dance is beautiful but one thing is missing out here that the songs doesn't matches the period that is required, it should be a little Classical.
agree that melody composition could have sweeter. but the situation didn't call for a true classical piece. it is based on mishra bhairavi. beside dilip kumar's character is the musician not kukum's. madhuban mein radhika is a superb song but the dance choreography is disappointing considering kumkum's excellent dance skills. dhal chuki sham-e gham is the best dance in this film and the song is pretty beautiful as well. old films had such graceful stuff. sigh!
Beautiful song by Asha ji. and very very beautiful dance by Kumkum. We can see fron Her face that She enjoys to dance sooo much.5**********
Thanks Chamogaa ji for sharing.
Kum Kum was one of the best dancers and actresses to grace the silver screen. A true Icon of Indian cinema.
Dilip Kumar learned to handle this saz. He worked very hard. This was his speciality that he never tried to be artificial.
Super ...
Dlip Sahab aur Kum kum

Lyrics have been changed DIL MERA THAAM LE ULFAT KA JAAM LE HIMMAT SE KAAM LE MERAY SANAM --I am Kalim Chishtie from Karachi.

Kumkum is quite charming so it is no surprise if that OLD GUY, gr8 Mehboob Khan would trouble his heart 4 her.
lovely song
Great Performance of booth artist
Спасибо большое! Это очень красиво!!!
Dilip Kumar has always been a natural actor; only Ashok kumar could match this quality, or in later days, Sanjeev Kumar.

Beautiful .

Salu Morish
Thank you. You know, DK practiced playing the sitar for months so he would look authentic in this role. That's true professionalism.
thank you again for your sweet comments.
Both the song and the dance is beautiful but one thing is missing out here that the songs doesn't matches the period that is required, it should be a little Classical.
you are right but this is short and sweet.
This song will match any period of Hindustan.
