There is absolutely no shame in taking time off and getting help with your art business. It's amazing you've been able to come this far as a one-woman team so building a bit of a team sounds like a good next step!

I love that wallpaper. The entire room turned out so cute, and you seem so happy with it! 🙌🏼 Also, for anyone reading this, Chloe’s paint brushes are amazing quality and I highly recommend pre-ordering them if it’s something you’ve been considering! I’m so happy with them. 💕

I would love to purchase Chloe’s paintbrushes but shipping to the UK is almost as much as the brushes. I am planning a trip to New York I am seriously thinking of getting them delivered to me once I am there 🙈

I can completely relate, to an outsider it can look like being a youtuber is easy, but there's so much work happening that no one else sees. Self-employment is a never ending job, we don't really have time off. I find it hard fitting in personal art projects around youtube and business art. It's fun, but can be tiring, I haven't had a holiday in about 4 years and barely a day off. Your studio and workshop are looking great! I'm envious of the size of your desk! I had mine custom made, but didn't have the space you have for one that large!

Whew, i'm working real hard denying myself breaks because this is what I want to achieve, I look at youtube artists like Slew, Andrew Tischler, Mark Crilley and others and it looks like they have it made, all I saw was the big studios, brilliant skills, and the chance to make money doing what you love instead of working at some miserable warehouse job but never thought about this aspect until now.

Thanks for saying this Chloe. I was just trying to explain to someone the other day that all I want is to crochet for a month. They pointed out that's all I do, and I had to explain that what I meant was not working my day job, not typing up patterns or working on my Etsy, not filming, not editing, not dealing with customer questions - just actually getting to create without a ticking clock. Running a channel, particular a smaller one like mine, is 90+ hour working weeks. I'm changing up some of my content this year to try and give myself more room for creativity, and giving myself permission to take breaks when I need them - nothing changes if nothing changes!

Yes, the past 2 years have been rough. Personally, I lost both grandpas within 14 months of each other (one from Covid, the other from dementia), had 3 different jobs, and am trying to completely reorganize and reevaluate my room for the first time... ever. And yes, it is hard to let go of control and allow others to help you. I see that with how my dad tackles house work. Some things have been under construction for 3-5 years because they don't have the energy.

Those that work from home (myself included) tend to actually work 24/7. We're doing the work, thinking about doing the work when we're not doing it, and then shaming ourselves for not thinking about or doing the work when we're taking a break and sometimes having nightmares about being a lazy failure. We don't ask for help because we think it would either be seen as failure on our part or that we'll be shamed by the person(s) we're asking for help from because "why can't you do it? You don't do much of anything all day, right?" And when you add your home life and the situation outside ourselves over the past 2 years... it's a miracle if or when we even make it out of bed in the morning.
I'm going through a lot of what you are as well. I've finally been to the point of asking for help in many ways. It's hard to be kinder to yourself, but it's really important. 💜

Hey Chloe, if you end up with a ton of those brushes you aren't happy with, some places sell discounted "B-stock." If it's not a functional issue (like bristles falling out), but more a cosmestic issue (like chips on the handle), some people will be happy to pay a discount for a "less perfect" product. Something to consider.

I completely feel you on the one person show ordeal. Back in 2019, right before the pandemic hit, I cut off the only family I had where I live due to their toxicity and my kids das basically stepped out of his parenting duties at the same time. I've been raising two young boys on my own through a pandemic. Fight or flight, survival mode. You have got to take time to sort yourself out. You're an entrepreneur and your own boss and manager! Don't be a slave to the RUclips algorithm. If you're in a position to take care of yourself then definitely do it 🙏 don't be afraid to ask for help with your product either!
Stay safe and take care of yourself Chloe 😊 much love

I get your stress. I just started out as a RUclips artist and I'm learning filming editing and it isn't as fun as you think it would be. Take a break Chloe and we'll still be here to support you when you come back and remember it's ok to ask for help when you feel overwhelmed by the job. You are only one person. Let others assist you with your job so it can be the dream job. ❤️

Your hard work and dedication is beyond appreciated! Don't ever feel like you need to explain why you need a break! You are always entitled to some you time. Don't ever forget that! And don't ever be afraid to ask for help. I feel you! I'm a one woman band myself. Obviously nowhere near your level of subscribers, but it's still hard doing everything by yourself. Thank you for all you do, Chloe!

I know you don't know me, and I don't know you, but I am so very proud of you. You've kept your chin up so well and you've made it through so much. You an an inspiration not just in the incredible art you make, but staying optimistic in spite of all of the turmoil and upset going on and going on for so long. You deserve every second off that you wish to take, you work so incredibly hard to provide almost endless free content- And you do all of that before you can work on your art or anything else behind the scene. You are absolutely spectacular.

"If being hard on yourself worked, it would have worked already"
"If you're always doing 100% then it isn't your best but your average" aka doing your best does not mean burning yourself out, it means doing the best you can for the situation you're in, which includes taking breaks.

Take care of yourself, take the breaks you need, and we’ll be able to enjoy more of your content. You make me smile, and I appreciate the effort. I overextended myself last year, I think in an over correction for how aimless I was feeling during the beginning of the pandemic. It wasn't healthy, and I was finding that I felt guilty anytime I took time to create art recreationally while struggling to meet deadlines. I'm in a better place now, with (a little) more time for relaxation, and it's a huge weight off my mind.

I had to learn that it was ok to take care of myself and not to put the pressure that nobody else is expecting on myself. I had a review once and my supervisor actually wrote that I needed to learn how to take care of myself, to take time off and not apologize for doing so. I think you are amazing and you deserve the same breaks as anybody else. It’s hard as a creator and a small business owner to remember that, I know, but try to keep in mind that you can’t fully take care of the people you love if you aren’t taking care of yourself first and foremost.

Nothing wrong with taking extra time off. I don’t have a set upload schedule as I have a “9-5” type day job. I also have so many hobbies that many of them cycle around. I can go weeks or months without making artwork due to being more focused/into another hobby for awhile (such as crocheting). And some days I have little energy or motivation after work to do anything productive.

Having a full time job that I thankfully can do from home, plus owning multiple small business, I completely understand the fear of being lazy. There is always something to be done, or that should have been done yesterday. But we need to recharge too so we can put positive energy into accomplishing all things!

It's such a benefit that it's thermal and not ink based, the set up was super easy (I had it ready to go in a couple of minutes), and it's my favorite color.
Seriously for all comment lurkers, I highly recommend it!
Also, back to the subject of the video: the space looks great!

I definitely agree with 2022 being the year to get on with life and new goals! I am using this really to try to push me through the bad days and scheduling/time management and making lists to remember everything, have helped 10000%. Being able to check off a bullet on my To-Do list has been very motivating! Keep inspiring! Love you and your amazing art and channel!

I dont know if anyone has told you but there is a very easy way to hang that painting that you said was awkward.
step one: you take wide masking tape and put it on the back of the frame where the holes/hooks etc are.
step two: Mark them with a marker.
step three: take the masking tape off of the frame and put on the wall where you want the frame.
step four: put in screws or nails where the markings are.
remove the tape and put up the frame.
    hope that helped :)

As soon as you came in it reminded me of the size of your old studio at your house with the closet to the left and I feel this is also why you moved 😆cause it reminded you the comfiness of it

At the end of the day you’ve done your best, and that’s enough because you are enough ❤️ I feel the same way 100% so I totally understand! Just want to share what a good friend of mine told me that really helped with accepting that I’m not being lazy or unproductive during down time and that it’s still super important: “doing nothing is still doing something”. If your physically doing nothing, your still making a choice to do something, which is taking care of your mental health and needs. It may seem and feel unproductive/your wasting time, but that’s only because it is not a tangible thing we can see or totally measure with a metric (like we can with money or views on a vid for example).
Anyways, I hope this helps you and anyone else who reads this to see that “doing nothing is still doing something” and that’s enjoying life. It will feel better in the long run, there will be ups/downs/growing pains and it does get easier over time, just gotta trust the process 😉 and good on you for recognizing you need the break and the help, those things in themselves can also be hard to overcome. Love the vid, the new space, your positive disposition and am excited to see what more is to come 😊

It seem RUclips is not very mindful of creator's mental health when it comes to the algorithm. I've seen quite a few people talking candidly about the pressure the algorithm has put on them in the past.
I love the wallpaper! 😁 Nice high ceilings like yours can take a bold design. I love your space - even the 'business area' seems warm and comfortable. 😊
Have you noticed weather the new space has impacted your creativity in any way?

We all need to take some time off! I get it, I've worked through this entire pandemic and I'm absolutely exhausted
I will say one thing! I'm happy you are back! I'm a new-ish subscriber and I haven't drawn and painted in years! I've put my work life before myself for such a long time and watching you has brought my passion back! I've started drawing and panting again (polar opposite to you, I love dolphins and water scenes, sometimes cats) and current working on a dolphin scene right now!
    Thank you for inspiring me!

I was wondering why the wallpaper felt familiar but then I remembered! It reminds me of that one tapestry with the unicorn in a pen. (Looking it up I guess it’s “unicorn rests in a garden”). Love it!

I wish I had watched this earlier. I love your videos -- you've inspired me to just draw through some of my hardest bouts of anxiety, same with today! I've been away from my sketchbook since January just in a difficult life stress spiral. Right now I feel like I can draw for a few minutes for the first time in weeks. Anyway, thank you. So glad to hear that you're trying your best as well in all of this chaos.

I love your videos. I found your channel in 2020, and I can't tell you how happy it makes me to hear your voice saying 'how are you all doing? I hope you're all doing well.' It's great. I love when you make things, and show the struggles, when you debunk 5 minute crafts etc, it's all fun. I personally would love to see you sculpt something else. I love that little bear you made. ❤️
Also, people should not make work like their whole lives. If you need time off, you should never feel guilty doing that. I want to say I for one, appreciate you and alot of the RUclips creators who work incredibly hard to give us content.
