    Hello Mr. Mannor.. Long story short. Vietnam Vet, over 65 , l have little assets. I applied for "low income pension" back in JULY 13th, 2022. I have a VSO and I have contacted a congressman and Senator Blackburn to help get this moving. I live on SS, $950, only. I live in Costa Rica. very expensive now. What can be done to move my case, it's critical now?

    • @mannorlawgroup
      @mannorlawgroup  Год назад

      We are sorry to hear of your troubles. We do know that since COVID-19, processing time at the VA has gone up considerably. We've had to reach out to senators as well, and that does often help things move along. You or your VSO should be able to log into your online account to view the status of your application and go from there. We suggest contacting your VSO again for assistance. If you receive a denial letter, give our office a call and we can discuss other possible options.

      Good Morning Mr. Manor
      Back on the 27th of March my VSO informed me that the VA has a "suspense date of April 24th". I asked him about what a suspense date means but he didn't really explain it well.
      Do you know what a suspense date means?
      PS: You and your family have a beautiful Easter weekend. I'm watching the Masters, hahaha.

    • @mannorlawgroup
      @mannorlawgroup  Год назад

      @@mikee2 that is a great question! A "suspense date" is the date on which the file will be reviewed for further action. It does not mean a decision or action will be taken on that date. It basically means the VA isn’t looking at your file until that time.

      @@mannorlawgroup Wow, thanks for your quick reply. I don't understand why it has taken 9 months up to now. I qualify on all categories. It should be a fairly simple claim. I have written to members of congress, the head of the VA and Sen. Marsha Blackburn. That was back in January.
      I have a VSO and he seems to be very understanding. I think I'm getting to the point where I could use your services. I am under serious financial strain and it's affecting my health. About a month ago, my heart started bouncing around and my doctor said I had arrhythmia. Now I'm afraid I might not even see my VA Pension. I'm 76 and only God knows how many punches I have left on my card.

    This only applies to vets up to the Vietnam Era? Conflicts after that don't apply?

    • @mannorlawgroup
      @mannorlawgroup  Год назад

      Great Question! The Aid and Attendance benefit is open to veterans who qualify during certain periods of wartime that the VA determines by the veteran's date of service. If you have someone you think could be eligible for this benefit, you are welcome to give our office a call or contact a Veteran's Service Organization near you.

    I have cared for my son since he got sick in 2007, I am the father, caregiver but I have never received 1 cent due to the facts that my son received a willfull misconduct in 1991, but received an honorable discharge. My son was denied a service-connected disability due to the willfull misconduct that my son was involved in but was not responsible. I am a Vietnam era vet, I am 80yrs old, why should I have to suffer non payment for being his caregiver and much more. Joseph Arsanis

    does In Home Attendants count as medical expenses that aren't reimbursed?

    • @mannorlawgroup
      @mannorlawgroup  Год назад +1

      In-home care can count as a medical expense for aid and attendance. There are forms the care provider must be willing to complete and a few stipulations, of course, but it's definitely a common expense. If you are a Michigan resident, feel free to contact us for more information about this benefit. If you're not a Michigan resident, we suggest contacting an attorney in your state who is VA accredited. If you're not sure who to reach out to, we can help you find someone. Call 810-694-9000.
