    Photoshop definitely. The image has more character! The Lumion one, well, you can tell it's made in Lumion!

      Lighting, perspectives from lumion and character details in PS , that's what I would do

      Yes, but imagine the client want to move the view to the right a little bit and may be up a little bit, then you have to do the whole photoshop process again, but lumion, you are just one click away. Also they are two different sytle, one is more foggy, and the other one is quite clear...may be nice if compare with similar style

    I actually use both! Lumion to get the base render then photoshop for the final details.

    Your photoshop skills are too good man, I think if you spent a little more time in lumion and then post processed it to create the same mood you would be surprised how much faster you could achieve the same results. For this image my vote goes to photoshop 💯

    Your title should be Vray vs. Lumion as base renderers
    Whatever you do in Photoshop can be added to both outputs
    My choice is definitely Lumion + Photoshop

    I'd say lumion, the house is more integrated into the surrounding unlike photoshop where its less integrated

    i think its depend on the project and what kind of result you want to reach both of them are good 👍🏻👍🏻

    Photoshop way more character. I think working in both is a good strategy. For a final image, to impress the client and yourself, you can use photoshop, with a more artistic take, and then even hang it on the wall. But for everyday use I think Lumion is better, for quick changes, get a general view of things, clients keeping up with the project daily etc...

    Lumion look can be reduced by colour correcting it ,lumion look is more warmer . reduce tree trunk exposure ,bring black colour up ,unsharp the 3d grasess

    100% photoshop, it looks amazinag, authentic & doesn't look like it comes from a promotor trying to sell the property but has some character & feel to it. Would still love to see a digital collage representation of this image!

    Your post-processing skills is superb using Photoshop, thats all. Comparisions not ok, it more like comparing which is a better one, a Rendering software vs Post Processing Softwares,

    I think a combination of both can definitely work. I personally use the photoshop method every time, however its almost always because my iMac limits me when i need to create a good quality render. But I also like the amount of detail you can add in a photoshop render to make it more personal. So If i could I would use both in some way.

    From your two workflows i think Photoshop gets the better end result but it's quite a bit of work in single steps, and for more complex scenes it takes a long time. Lumion on the other hand is fast but always looks.. well like Lumion :D It's great for time savings but not quite as powerful as Vray or Corona in terms of quality and realism.
    But with good texturing, Corona and a scatter program like ForestPack or the CoronaScatter workflow you can achieve better or at least similar quality pictures in just about the same amount of time if you have a decent computer. And you don't have to do as much post-production. Just learn a bit of how good textures and stuff like PBR workflow work and you can do these relatively small scenes VERY fast. Combined with a bit of colour grading afterwards you can achive artistic and realistic styles quite easily. I do these for university and a side student job in a mid-size office all the time.
    Corona is the perfect way to go in my personal opinion and experience because it's faster than Vray, relatively easy to learn and the 3DS Max Workflow is perfect for my work in Revit.

    I feel like the composition is worst in the Lumion one but the quality of the image itself is better. The trees and grass are distracting in the lumion render, but that'e because of where they are placed. Instead of them framing the building like in the photoshop render, they are an objectified and jut out into the composition. It's okay to not be realistic about the placement of plants and trees in lumion as long as it makes the composition of the final image better.

    I used to use Vray + Photoshop but just like what you said, if you need change any view, it would almost start over.. I am learning Lumion and I love the light in Lumion as well as How fast it could be to produce multiple renderings. But for both, I think the details and variation is the key to make a successful rendering - Like the variation on your grass / randomly added wild flowers / reflection / All the interior decoration you could see through the window of the building / smudged wall etc.

    the grass and foreground in lumion is way too much distracting and does not reflect your skills. Photoshop for the win.

    This video clearly shows the importance of post processing an image. Lumion is great, and could definitely have been employed better however the best workflows I would think all have some PS at the end to efficiently arrive at a first rate final result

  • @hanifzaki2062
    @hanifzaki2062 4 года назад +1

    I like photoshop but you need some insane skills and know what you're doing in the photoshop. Lumion covers this issue and helps amateur and semi-pro arch viz to still creating a great image at the same time giving room to learn and do improvement. However in arch viz industry nowadays, time is much more important. Some client don't want to wait 2-3 days just to look at images. This will slow down the projects. That's where Lumion comes in handy.

  • @strawberrystudio9186

    Good work ;). Of course the psd Visu is much powerfull than the lumion render. But..... you can easily use lumion as a base-render and do the post in psd. I think you can get similiar results in shorter time. And for lumion: you can use fine-deatil-nature assets in foreground and play with their green colors to avoid the "low poly look".

    I do agree on Photoshop having a personal feel to it compared to lumion but overall, both outputs are nice and really depends on what is good on the artist's viewpoint.

  • @5bradman

    The Photoshop render is definitely more artsy and watercolor-like. The Lumion render is more realistic looking. Guess it depends on the clients tastes. I know the clients we have for our biz would prefer to not have any surprises and would prefer the Lumion "realistic style" look. However in Lumion you can render a realistic style, a watercolor style and outlines style. If you take those three outputs and blend them in Photoshop you get the best of both worlds (realistic and artsy) and it looks sweet! Lumion has gotten MUCH better over its last few releases. Still a lot of room for improvements though. Go Lumion!

    I also prefer photoshop . But when we rendered in different angle such as isomatric view then retouched in photoshop and merged with context is quite difficult and time consuming . At that part lumion is better .

    Another question.. Can you make a tutorial on how to isolate the shadows / light patterns from vray? On the effects panel on vray, on the image, you can also see a light grey, which makes it hard to blend with the following layers. I mean, I want to change the material ground of the ground, but keep the light/shadow patterns on a separate layer so that they can be easily merged :)

  • @korniliapap3466

    Hello! :) I liked the photoshop image better. I always have the following question though.. why do you edit the walls by applying the texture of the wall in photoshop and not apply a seamless texture before the render.. is it a lot different? It makes sense with the ground sky vegetation etc.. but i don't get it on the walls. I would like to hear many opinions. Thanks :D

    • @ShowItBetter
      @ShowItBetter  4 года назад

      It’s more personal preference and I can add more imperfections in ps. Maybe I don’t know how to map correctly in vray so the results I always get are very flat

      as for me, creating of a complicated materials in V-Ray (old brick, old stone, tile...) takes a lot of time. and result isn't allways satisfacting ... or maiby too much detailed. so you don't really need it for you final image. I can go faster with PS. thanks) good luck!

    I think it quite unfair, you can just add haze in lumion and remove the disturbing plant front of view. I think you make less effort in lumion rendering in this video rather than psd . Your's other lumion render in your channel much better than that.
